The game's stalled. There's a schism between the ones who think Emo is scummy and will absolutely not look elsewhere, and the ones who think Emo is town but can't get any other wagon rolling because the previous guys are so adamant.
This, partially. I suppose I am one of those at fault for adamancy. Given the state of the game, however, I am looking to tabling my Emo_Pinata suspicion for a different suspect. RisingPhoenix disappearing means I have to reread more thoroughly though.
@Roja: Talk a bit more about Emo's claim. You seem to have a very easy time buying it, when the rest of the group has had a mostly opposite reaction. Why is it believable? Why should he not be the focus of the day, when he has maintained a very heavy wagon against him?
The claim is easily believable. For the most part, even those players who still think Emo_Pinata is scum believe that he is untargetable or has the potential to be, myself included. The differences in opinion lie whether players think that it was a town claim or not, for which Jobie's first list was likely most accurate (minus Archonoid).
@ AI, Infinis, kpaca, LP, G-man, Gamerz, Sauce, and Seppel
How was this list formed?
And somehow kpaca has almost been lynched. This is a poor decision. Would be nice if people moved their votes to TheFooFish (who has only 1 person even kinda sorta thinking he is not scum) from kpaca (who has 6 votes in spite of 8/12 people thinking he's town).
Number of times appearing on town lists:
MandersHex 9
Infinis 8
Seppel 7
Cantripmancer 7
kpaca 6
jdisawesomesauce 6
Lost Profit 6
Guardman 6
Shalako 5
Gamerz 4
AlphaInsidious 4
TheFooFish 2
Total - 70 (2 players did not submit lists yet - Shalako/Cantripmancer)
Let's lynch the bottom dwellers, yes? So we can actually move the game forward?
I have never seen Poggydude lurk as town or scum, and so I am inclined to believe his low rate (and subsequent request to replace out) are motivated by out of game circumstances.
RisingPhoenix promised a wall of text a while back, and that never came through. If I am to move my vote elsewhere, it is here.
Arcadic has also bothered me, although the reasons why are harder to pin down.
Ecophagy is town.
For anyone not keeping score:
Town (no order)
Ecophagy
DYH
Jobie
Guardman
Wrath of Dog
Scum (from least to most)
Arcadic
RisingPhoenix
Emo_Pinata
No, I'm not actually talking about a lights out game even though that's where I got the initial spark from. I'm talking about one where ability use is based off of game factors. This could be something like: passage of real time or number of posts in the thread, for example.
24 Mafia fits your criteria. Time based on real life time and lynches.
Claim is null for me. Untargetability is not a uniquely town ability, nor in this situation is it actually pro-town to confirm it. It requires a reliably pro-town player (and probably 2, to prevent potential roleblockers) to claim a power role that can target and confirm your claim, and then it assumes that confirming said untargetability is preferable to having their abilities go through properly.
For example, a cop *could* verify your ability, but I much rather have him verify your alignment - that is if you even make it to the night to test.
Sort of curious why do you think those people are town and why do you think everyone else is scum?
"Everyone else is scum" is process of elimination. And while I may suspect you more than, say, Cantripmancer, in the end of the day I read neither of you as town, and therefore both of you are scum.
If you disagree with specific individuals on the town list, go ahead and ask. I don't feel like making 6 cases for towniness if you don't need persuading on 4 of them. I will also say upfront that the read on Infinis is based on memories from games a while ago that he just plays like this normally as town. Call it gut.
This apporach to finding scum alien, find the townies then the rest are scum.
Different, but equally effective in its own way.
Used to seeing it approached from the other way.
However that doesn't mean you are except from providing reasons for the way you are voting.
My reason for voting is shameless bandwagoning. What you should be looking for is my reasons for not voting the ones on my town list, as that's how the reads were created. Same criteria for asking as with Guardman.
It seems not much has changed since I was last able to log on. I still think Emo_Pinata is scum, and he's right that, barring a colossal slip by another scum, a solid claim is the only thing that can potentially move my vote. Briefly rereading the thread, I didn't see much to hold against him without returning to our fun circular arguments. So I won't.
I'll work on looking at a few of the players I don't have such good reads on, but don't expect much in terms of in-thread analysis.
Not really. Your perspective is that ZDS should have not voted.
Wrong again.
And even if it were true, there is also the flawed assumption made in your logic here that ZDS' post with the vote kickstarted the game but ZDS' post without a vote would have led to a continued random stage.
Quote-battling with Emo aside, why do you dislike the votes on Archmage so much?
I didn't mind your initial vote so much as your pseudo call for a wagon with "scummiest so far." Emo Pinata's summary of why his vote was bad can then be found here.
Unvote

Now that the list is complete, I will shamelessly bandwagon anyone else. Also, until a dead body proves me wrong, this list is unlikely to change.
Unvote, Vote: TheFooFish.
Positive. And especially since your answer was good.
Your vote is fine. Emo Pinata is fabricating evidence. More specifically, Archmage Eternal never unvoted Emo Pinata, and never voted Archonoid.
And even if it were true, there is also the flawed assumption made in your logic here that ZDS' post with the vote kickstarted the game but ZDS' post without a vote would have led to a continued random stage.
