Limited looks incredibly fun with this set, but everything seems so slow and overcosted.
Someone said there's a ton of Wrath effects, I don't think I seen one. I may just be sleep-deprived, though. Can someone point me into the directions of multiple Wrath effects?
There is Alpha Brawl for one, yeah, at that cost and condition.
Well, all those rares that haven't been spoiled yet, if there are still any, are ones worth looking for since you might be able to get ones cheap before someone cracking them up, seeing what happened to Spellskite a while ago.
You can play around this guy easier than Consecrated Sphinx. Some control decks with Pristine Talisman may like this. But yeah, the Sphinx is still better in both Standard and EDH IMO.
If overall sales drop, they may switch back to Mythic/Rare for Pre-release/Release again. WOTC probably has projected to sell this block well so they don't need extra draw powers.
With Undying mechanic, will Hex Parasite be more viable in standard? Think about it; Turn 1! Hex Parasite, Turn 2! Strangleroot Geist, attack! If it dies, return it and let the Parasite eats the +1/+1 counter on turn 3! Rinse and repeat!!
I'm a fan of mill cards. Increasing Confusion looks interesting, but it only works best when it is in the graveyard though, and comparing to the best mill card from the last rotation, Archive Trap, which mills 13 cards for 5 CMC in one instant-speed shot, this one mills only 8 for the same CMC and 12 for two castings.
I've been using it in Heartless Architect aggro and it is pleasantly good. Going around its drawback with the deck is not that hard since there always are leftover cards in your hand that can also feed its ping ability also. It wins games almost every time it shows up.
I have two of the Masticore in a creature-heavy Heartless Architect deck and they are awesome. While they are not needed in most situation but when one comes to finishing the game it is almost unstoppable.
Squeezing in some Molten-tail Masticores somewhere in the list, most probably in the sideboard. I can't find it in my heart to cut out the Solemn Simulacrums because they help ramp when you don't draw into Heartless Summoning.
Try putting at least two of them in. It works like the sad robots, doing things when the key pieces don't come out. Masticore though finishes the game while the robots just set things up for next turns. Main-deck it.
Possibly Contagion Engine too, as token decks are pretty prevalent here.
It doesn't work that well in this environment that there is a card that basically nullify the Engine effect. It still works against other weenie decks though. Also, HS is no Everflowing Chalice that doesn't support non-creature artifact. If you want to deal with tokens, Ratchet Bomb is better. Sideboard it.
Also: Spine of Ish Shah + Phyrexia's Core mondo combo! Maybe out of the sideboard.
Yep, it is a great Distortion Strike replacement in UG Infect. A good blend of Spectral Flight and this will help.

The set is a meh overall IMO. EDH players will love this though.

The same reason as above. Sideboard at best.
