Yeah, in the end, almost everything dies to something. I think he is a potentially powerful card in this. And whatevs if u dont flip him, he still adds mana via axebane
I just like him as an alt wincon. You opp HAS to do something about him, or face a 13/13 trampler. With axebane you can load him up with counters quickly
this is true and with him they have to decide between the test subject or the axebane, also it give u something to sink mana into when you have a ton of extra mana
also think about the test subject, its a defender that has 1 greater toughness than fog bank and sooner or later your opponent will want to kill it , so that gives them another target that is not axebane.
plus im talkin sideboard, so think about it vs green white tokens or any token deck. if we bounce all their stuff anyways yeah they have to replay it which means thats one less turn of them attking us and one more turn of us building, and also for fog bank its even easier to kill than test subject.
also as one of our 2 drop defenders we should consider Ludevic's Test Subject it is a 2 drop so better than some other defenders, 1 more toughness than fog bank so lives easier, and can be an alternate win con or also a win con if all the combo pieces dont arise. I think it has great potential. also personally thinking sideboard im thinking cyclonic riftSupreme verdict and Detention Sphere, thoughts?
Yeah, i see the wisdom in that. Seems like having both may be the better answer?
personally i think that we should take out the fog banks entirely cause there is just too much to destroy it, and by the time we get to the point that hover barrier will have to block and die it will already be time to win. Plus i found this problem in play testing but think about all the people that will be running Mizzium Mortars it kills fog bank and our axebane and the alchemist. it kill prty much every defender besides hover barrier. that why i was also thinking about testing the card Builder's Blessing if mortars become a big enough of an issue.
hey i have been doing some testing against the more aggro heavy decks and for my own input i honestly think that running 3 or 4 hover barrier is better than running Fog Bank my reason for this is yeah it prevents combat dmg but think of all the different types of spells that are cheap that can deal 2 dmg to a creature. It is simply much harder to get rid of a 0/6 than a 0/2.
dont forget about Go for the Throat and Doom Blade. There is also the idea of Tragic Slip
i personally run just 3 o-ring in main board but my sideboard contains 2 GftT
just play tested it on cockatrice.. its better than GftT, i kill titans and any threat all day, btw i also really want to fit timely reinforcements into my sideboard, i have a normal sideboard what do i take out?
So i think our worst matchup is def. UW humans or spirits or what ever, I think we need to find a way to insure we have the win against them after sideboard just like we do against RDW, also what would be better sideboard to stop the tier 1 meta Divine offering or revoke existence?
Blaskas , im trying to use almost of the same deck but with the priest who spawn 5/5 demons and all of the white spells tokens with it. Do you think it can be better or yours has a more ''efficient'' way to get through type2 ?
sorry im not the guy you are asking the question two but i think that if you are going to use the high priest you should make a deck out of him, try making a fun demon deck using the high priest and that new flip demon from dark ascen. it seems funn but the high priest is just to slow and very situational.
i believe that day of judgment would be better since we do not always have double black and also it is a cheaper removal than black sun because it is straight up 4 cmc not BBX, they both ge rid of hexprof dudes just one is more cheaper and fits our main color instead of our secondary
Primer is full of suggestions and possibilities, check it out.
Unless you have a new suggestion, youre just repeating discussions that have already been covered.
On a more important note, we need to start upping our SB arsenal against UW variants. They still give us the most trouble.
Thus far we have:
Does anyone have any other responses for cards like Geist of Saint Traft? With the above list we can respond fairly well, but unlike all of our other match-ups we dont have a tight lock on countering their primary spells. Im even open to lightly splashing for an off color spell if there is one that responds well enough.
i have a few suggestions, one we could try surgical extraction, with dispise it recks their deck also another card that i was thinking of doing was ray of revelation their honor of the pures and angelics really hurt on a mirran crusader, and i was thinking about running 3 sunpetals for the flashback just to get more. and it is an instant so that helps.
