What is everyones removal looking like? we have three good sweepters. Drown in sorrow, Anger of the gods, end hostilities.
The spot removal is outstanding with Heros Downfall, the delve spot removal, utter end, crackling doom
then the burn cards: magma jet, bile blight, charm
I don't like lightning strike because there are no x/3 creatures that we care about.

Fleecemane Lion, Herald of Torment, Prophetic Flamespeaker probably all going to see play in the new format at some point. It also goes to the face in a pinch.

Mantis Rider is a 3/3 we care about, my lists are different than these, more of a brew for states but like the commentary crew on SCG said, you really need lightning strikes in your mainboard to stop a mantis when it comes down.

Barinellos said that him arriving on a plane without red, black, and blue mana would completely destroy that plane. I still doubt that that is true though because then Bolas could have just gone to Phyrexia and destroyed it when it started looking like it might become a multiverse-level threat. But he still lost a ton of power.

It was stated explicitly in the Champion's Trial.
Anyways, you are vastly overestimating how threatened Bolas felt about the Phyrexians.
He cared so little that he just traipsed his minions through Phyrexia when they'd disappointed him, something to put a good scare into them.

Just because Urza was scared of them doesn't mean everyone else was freaked out by Phyrexia.

I don't think Urza was "Scared" of the Phyrexians, he was in vengeance mode and later just pure insanity over what happened to Mishra. Pretty sure we can't even compare pre mending to post mending as Urza would blink them out of existance.

I won the NC state champs with this deck.

    Creatures (4)

    4 Chandra's Phoenix
    Lands (24)

    10 Mountain
    4 Mutavault
    4 Sacred Foundry
    2 Temple of Malice
    4 Temple of Triumph
    Spells (32)

    4 Chained to the Rocks
    4 Boros Charm
    4 Lightning Strike
    4 Magma Jet
    4 Searing Blood
    2 Shock
    4 Skullcrack
    4 Warleader's Helix
    2 Toil
    Sideboard

    4 Firedrinker Satyr
    1 Spark Trooper
    1 Assemble the Legion
    2 Nyx-Fleece Ram
    3 Satyr Firedancer
    3 Wear
    1 Anger of the Gods

The two rams in the board was the talk of the tournament. Amazing mirror tech as well won me several games with the big butt and life gain. We played 11 rounds, I lost a total of three games.

Highlight of the day was Toiling someone for 7 on turn three.

    I agree,

Smither all the way. I play g/w humans and g/w midrange and this guy is a 4 of maindeck. He gets in the way of RDW like a boss while still being able to bring the beats with a rancor.

With the emergence of infect, I am going to sideboard some spellskite in my B/W tokens sideboard for there pumps.

If each of us has a spellskite and I redirect to mine can he redirect that redirect back to his? I guess if he did this, it would be useless and the pump would still be off of his infect creature, but I am still curious

I posted this in developing but I think it belongs here also

I feel that tokens is well positioned right now. Look at how many zombies/pod decks they are atm. At least the version that runs Angel of Jubilation and Blade splicer package. A good token player will not get blown out by wrath effects. If we board in the new white knights..I do not see how zombies are that big of a thing anymore.

My brother plays a mono green infect and we are literaly 50/50 against it, this is only the case if you have Blade Splicer/Gut shot mb. Jubilation hurts them if you push them into the late game, they cannot misstep or phrexia mana pump.

Not to mention that delver has a hard match up against us

Just watching the SCG portland stream its apparantly obvious, Zombies are Everywhere. I will be piloting B/W tokens next week for the richmond classic over my recently built mono green infect.

They were just commenting on how bonfire and Doj are on the decline due to thragtusks and blood artist, this is very good news for us.

TOp 8 is mostly zombie and infect with some green decks here and there in portland. This will probally be the meta until rotation.

I'm not sure if this belongs in here or not but here goes. About 3 years ago I picked up a vampire nighthawk playmay for 30.00 bucks from an online retailer. Everytime I take it out it gets a comment so I decided to see if I can find anymore for sale and I found one for 99.99 on coolstuffinc. Im assuming this mat was a low print run due to the scarcity of it. I would never sale it but I was wondering what other mats are "rare"

If you swing in with a Geist of saint traft and before damage is dealt ie. the end of combat you vapor snag him, the angel will stay on the field permanatly correct? It should since the state base action of removing it is no longer in the game.

How harsh is your mana base though splashing blue and black and still trying to use utility lands? My list runs a much more even white/black spread than most to make sure I can drop an early blood artist if needed, and I feel like the mana base would be hard pressed to support adding blue, even if it was only dual lands (as you don't need to cast Snapcaster until you hit 4 or more likely 5 mana).

mana is fine, the only black I have is 3x GFFT, 2x Sorin LOI, Vault activation and Souls by back. Then just 3x Snapcasters.

May seem out of the box but flashing back Gathers/Hauntings and GFFT's got me out of some tight situations.

I ran one of the traditional B/W token lists from wescoe with Angel of Jubilation replacing hero and I splashed in 3x Snapcaster Mages. Went 4-0 only to lose a very close game to USA miracles in the top4 on gameday. The snapcasters allow buy backs of removal and token generators for more gas and a late game. I will try and post the exact deck list when I remember it, it was tore apart after for esper walkers.

just to get a clear understanding

Once I declare a blocker, Resto angel can blink blocker to remove but not block an attacker herself.

last chance to remove a potential blocker from combat must be done after declare attackers before my opp even starts to figure out his blockers?

  • posted a message on Blinking a blocker and re blocking
If an opponet attacks with 3 creatures and I block one with a creature, can I play Restoration Angel and blink my blocker, block with the angel and then block the last creature with the creature of mine I just blinked.

To sum it up, during declare blockers step, can I blink a declared blocker and reblock another attacker?

also: If an opponet declares blockers to my attckers, what step if any can I remove one of his blockers from combat and get damage through. Does this have to be done during declare attackers or before combat all together.

In FNM's I think GFTT is better due to the high influx of casuals rocking Vampire and zombie tribal decks. Seems like Bloodline Keeper is a thing around here.
