Magic's Facebook just posted a video of a Temur box being opened. It does indeed show only 1 rare in the seeded pack, and the rare is just a foil, time-stamped version with regular art. Just in case anyone wanted some more confirmation
I messed around with Disciple a bit, and she is really fun. It's pretty easy to run out of gas with her though--she's dead in the water if you don't have any cards in hand, and her ability pretty much screams "play all the things." Pain Seer might fix that, but without reliable life gain and a few high cost spells (Far // Away = 5cmc pain ball), seems a little risky. What about Dakra Mystic? Hidden Strings on your Triton Shorestalker more-or-less means you can fire the Mystic off two, three times a turn.
Disciple of Deciet's interaction with split cards is great tutoring fuel though. What about Turn // Burn as another 2/3 drop?
Maybe one day they'll do a "un" style set with new colors, just for giggles, but I doubt they'd do it any time soon in an official expansion.
It'd be rather alienating for older players, there'd be a huge power creep (or just an absolutely useless color for a few years), it'd be a rule nightmare, and they'd have to find a new flavor.
This is just novice musings, so don't flame me too hard, but what they COULD do, maybe, possibly, is find a flavorful mechanical "new color" for Wedge sets. Something like "Red, White, and Black = Orange" or something, where special lands make orange color which can be used in place of the colors they represent.
With his face and body like that... is Ashiok one of the Returned?
Zombie PW FTW!
Yes and no. If you notice, he's growing horns and claws, and there's a reverant of a soul nearby. So Ashiok is right smack-dab in the middle between Returned and Theros Demon (Returned can become a demon if they are evil enough). So first half demon walker?
Thassa and Purphoros have combo potential, but only Erbos and Heliod can be fully functional all by their lonesome.
And of those two, I'd rate one the lowest and one the highest.
I'm so glad I'm a black-alligned player...
If she is real, then she's quite an interesting walker. She just has to keep using her +1 on herself until she goes ultimate.
Edit: Ah, never mind then.
It's really fun to win with Elocutors, but they are removal lightning rods. That's the problem with Pillowfort style decks that want a creature win-con--there are no targets for an opponent's removal, so by the time you get your creatures out, they just kill it.
That's not to discourage you though! If you can find a way to keep it alive, then you've got it. Maybe some kind of combination of Nevermore and Council of the Absolute (which suffers from removal lightning as well)
UR is a pretty interesting direction to take Trading Post. It does seem like something an Izzet mage would enjoy abusing.
Rather than Vial of Poison, why not use Prophetic Prism? It has an inherit card draw ability, which combos all the more with Post.
For me, the most Groan-worthy card is Ghor-Clan Rampager. I've seen so many games completly sniped because they held one or two in their hands and their opponent just didn't have an answer for it.
More annoying yet is when you see players who are trying to do mental math and are constantly thinking "Well I know, KNOW, they have at least one, soooo...." and then it just drags on. And usually, 14 out of 15 times, that player does not have the Rampager, so they just sit there and smile goofily.
I like the idea of Deputy of Acquittals getting some love, but I'm not sure this is exactly the right place for it. The synergy with Door of Destinies is nice, but it only reacts well with Elite Arcanist otherwise, and then only if you want to re-roll what spell he has.
A big problem will be fighting against Aggro, and the only card on your list which actively deals with a threat on the board is Azorious Charm. Other than that, you'll have to try and block, which will be tricky. So you might want to invest in some Unsummons or its ilk.
While it's standard, if you're going tribal, why not invest in some Cavern of Souls?
Some of these suggestions aren't Naya, but they work well with Resonator.
It's a little more mana efficient to focus on triggers instead of ETBs sometimes.
