Too much of either is bad, but the optimal mix is really the question.

As in D-Day again, the recipies optimal mix includes how Germany failed themselves by not allowing generals and field units to take the initiative.

Axis is to Yang as Allies are to Yin.

We really can't have one without the other as without one the other dies.

Of course as you guys know today is December 7th. 69 Years ago was the Attack on pearl harbor (Code Named Operation Z by the Japanese). Not one person I have spoken to today has realized this. If I bring it up I either get "No it isnt" or "oh...really?". I have come to realize that tragedies and such are forgotten quite quickly by the American Public. Day which will live in infamy my bum.

The attack on pearl harbor was the 9/11 of the 40s and 50s. Give it another 5-10 years and I feel that nobody will recall 9/11(besides those directly affected). Its upsetting to say the least how short our collective memory is when it comes to things like this. What are your guys thoughts and comments on this phenomena?

Also, please take a moment to remember the 2,402 U.S. military personnel and 55 civilians who were killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Thank you.

You are a good man. Know you are loved.

About this time, 69 years ago, Jap planes decending for low-level approach.

Strange putting oneself in anothers place...

Thinking about it, I reckon I wouldn't want to live in a country that had a giant ***** for a military either.

I'm on about Mexico taking control of their problem citizens (druglords)...

Then again, maybe it's time for the US to go on annex Mexico.

It seems their government has already proven they're incompetent and incapable of running a country with effectiveness.

If they were able to their citizens would be fighting back instead of running away.

    Hi all.

I work once a week at a law firm where I help with the running of the computers and the computer problems and I have run into a problem that I cant solve! I hope you will be able to help me. here is the problem:

The coputers are all networked and share printers. Recently none of the computers in the network have been able to print off of one of the printers, an HP Laser Jet 2100. They can still print off of the other printers in the network and the computer which is directly connected to the HP 2100 can still print off of it. The error is:"The Print Spooler Service is not running".

I have tried Net Stop Spooler, Net Start Spooler and I have checked in services.msc and the Spooler services has been started and is set under automatic but the error is always the same. I even tried reinstalling the printer drivers which did not help! It also gives the error when I want to check the properties of the printer.

All of the printers are running windows XP and have AVG anti virus.

I would appreciate your help, preffereably swiftly Smile as this problem has been goin on long enough.

    Hmm... Directly connected...

Did you try swapping out the cables with a set you know for sure works?

So, you admit the Constitution is not perfect and could be better.

Not so much our Constitution which needs improvement but, rather the morals and ethics of some of the public who hide behind it while attacking it.

So, on the battlefield you'd not want someone in charge of the troops so they can react faster?

I don't know, the military seems to think people can reach faster when someone is in charge.

Proven facts. When? D-Day, June 1944 and the fail (thank God) of German defenses.

It seems Columbia had the right idea in mind when they acquired American assistance to deal with Carlos Escobar.

    Quote from Wiki »
The war against Escobar ended on December 2, 1993, amid another attempt to elude the Search Bloc. Using radio triangulation technology provided as part of the United States efforts, a Colombian electronic surveillance team, led by Brigadier Hugo Martinez, found him hiding in a middle-class barrio in Medellín. With authorities closing in, a firefight with Escobar and his bodyguard, Alvaro de Jesús Agudelo AKA El Limón, ensued. The two fugitives attempted to escape by running across the roofs of adjoining houses to reach a back street, but both were shot and killed by Colombian National Police. He suffered gunshots to the leg, torso, and the fatal one in his ear. It has never been proven who actually fired the final shot into Escobar's head,…

Given the success of this mission, I’m wondering why Mexico hasn’t approached the US with a similar strategy.

What’s more, granted it took over a decade for the fallout to settle in the US, what if the Mexican government were to execute operations similar to what the US did in Waco, TX during the ATF & FBI’s siege of the Davidian Compound back in April of 1993?

    Quote from Wiki »
The 51-day siege of Mount Carmel ended when U.S Attorney General Janet Reno approved recommendations of veteran FBI officials to proceed with a final assault in which the Branch Davidians were to be removed from their building by force.

Violent? Very. Effective? Debatable. I doubt Waco curbed anyone from stockpiling munitions. It actually seems to have backfired. Think about it. The way the news is reporting now it would seem private groups and militias have tightened up their security and multiplied.

These two events reveal tactics which could, in the right light, be viewed as the initial steps toward a new age of international border reform. If coupled with the existence of large scale ultra-high tech non-lethal weaponry there’s no telling how quickly this could be over and the amount of lives that would be saved.

I believe if our governments were to get serious and actually take out the individuals who sustain the violent problems which plague both our countries leaders then, maybe progress would come about.

Look at it like this, it wouldn’t be a war of the armies but rather one for them and the peace loving citizens they protect who’ve had enough.

Yep. Without individualism a collective cannot advance.

Based simply on the saying: Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way!

This is something more people need to take to heart.

I used to have the Creed of the Noncommissioned Officer (Infantry Magizine 1975) on my d'top.

That chunk of clear behind the glass finger is a chunk of salt retrieved from the salt mines of a WW2 Germany (now in a plastic zippy). Not in the pic is a US Marines first aid kit with a few keepsakes (genuine Nazi pendant, Grandpa's address book with his buddies addys and numbers, Jeep operators licence, etc..)

There's more stuff but if I went on it wouldn't be a desktop ss post.

I want to install linux on my wife's father's computer. He does not want me to do this, but I'm honestly sick of fixing their damn computers and it'd be a lot easier to fix his windows partition if I had a linux partition to work from, rather than using limited resources from a live CD. (Not to mention the fact that it runs really slow from a live cd.)

I want to install linux, but only have it boot if a button/button combination is pressed when grub is loading (I'd also rather not have the grub screen that would show that linux is installed on the computer either). Otherwise, I'd like it to boot directly to Windows. Is this possible?
Just wondering, which Linux did you go with?

The answer to your question, simply is yes.

Go thru the installation process as normal, tweak your settings durring set up, install Grub, etc...

After everything is said and done, you'll need to open:
    /boot/grub/menu.1st

    And change the order of.

I've had to set comps up like this before so I kinda just remember. However, here's a page to help you from WordPress.com

    Best with it my friend.

    dcartist,

My friend, 2 weeks before my deployment in the first Gulf War, 3 disks in my back ruptured.

Being born into the Army, raised around the world and exposed to forward thinking cultures at an early age... I feel I was robbed of my oppertunity to be a combat vet my friend. So, please, never question my loyality, patriotism or devotion to my country as my military attitude and belief set are genuine.

My friend you confuse me with things like this:
We're not even officially "at war" but we're perpetually having troops on the ground somewhere in the "war on terror" and people are pulling that tired argument because troops are out there... indefinitely... Which would leave decisions to be made based on fear... indefinitely.

We have been at war and in a state of readiness since June 25, 1950. All the crap that's happened between then and now is just filler. About Sustaining fear or wave of patriotism? I guess this is at the core or our tet-da-tet. Agree to disagree? Finally, you ask why I belive the Commander and Chief should have a military background... Do I really have to spell this one out for you?

I'm good with giving those here now who deserve a shot a shot. Especially if they're able to tow the line.

What concerns me are those children who are being brought right now, and tomorrow, and the week after and so on? My friend, when will it stop?

Add to that babies having babies. They're brought here at 3-4 years old. Start exploring their sexuality and drugs 9 to 10 years later at a young age and end up preggo by 14. What then? Throw more money at the problem?

Short term patch for a long term problem.

You sounded like you had it all ready to post. I have been reading this thread from the begining and there is still no points to not banning this crap.

I believe we've given good reason for it's removal from the shelves. Other than playing politics, do you have a single valid reason that syntha-herb should not be banned or, can you justify spending 20 bucks on a gram of insence that you cannot smoke and is not as effective for scenting the air as a 2 dollar pack of incense cones or sticks?
