I thought we already transitioned to yeet/execute?

I use eliminate by default and then other words for flavourful purposes such as slick. Very few sites are actively moderating or censoring their users to use something other than lynch.

I've had several discussions with many people across communities about the changing of the term. It's not an easy change, especially given that a decent percentage of people have essentially no context for the word being problematic. Any European users being the main example. I agree that the term is problematic and that it should be changed, and in my games and across sites, I've encouraged changing the word. That said, very few sites in the mafia community are actively censoring or banning the word. The standard across communities is to suggest alternatives and at least some people in this community have followed such a standard.

Outside of games with specific flavours, in which unfriend, kick, shock, slick, oust, etc. have been used, the standard top choices have been:

    Eliminate (Sometimes shortened to elim)
Execute (Sometimes considered to not be a good replacement as it's considered comparatively brutal)
    TK (For TownKill)
    Yeet (*sigh*)

Attached are the announcements from a handful of mafia sites.

I had talked to you after the first time you brought this up, which had clearly been in partial response to Shadow being one of the people moderating you. As was posted in the Discord, the approach in this thread does not come across as a good faith attempt. While I do believe that having regular discussions of this are important, coming into the MtGS Mafia community as an outsider with zero participation in said community and saying "I don't like X that some of you do" does very little to actually achieve what you're looking for; people in the community have already dismissed you as not approaching this topic in good faith.

If you want to enable a real discussion which may lead to practical conclusions, that can be arranged, but understand that you have to be coming to such a discussion without an attitude of "Agree with me or you're all ******* racist ********s" or "I want to get back at an administrator who moderated me and I know that they have controversial political views."

    Zendikar Rising Review:

Archon of Emeria - I've considered these cards in the past. I'm not super bothered by it not being a wizard or 2 or less toughness given its effect. This is definitely worth consideration, but I think the tap-down isn't quite strong enough.

Maul of the Skyclaves - Solid Voltron-y equipment. Mini Angelic Destiny seems worth checking out.

Concerted Defense is unfortunately not worth it without at least Geist out, but it's an interesting concept.

Jace, Mirror Mage is worth consideration. I think that it's low enough impact to not be quite worth it, but it's a cool concept.

Thieving Skydiver has a nice effect and in the right metas is totally worth it. It probably is almost worth it just for 2U for a 2/1 flying that steals a Sol Ring, but that's a little slow.

    Commander Legends Review:

Benevolent Blessing - Almost worth considering. At 2 mana, it's slightly underwhelming, but it has a cool effect.

Slash the Ranks - At 5 mana, if you're getting this off, you're getting very lucky. Personally, I'll stick to Cataclysm and Supreme Verdict.

Eligeth, Crossroads Augur - Despite its CMC, I seriously considered this card. The effect can be absolutely bonkers, particularly when there's so many cards with incidental scry which are worth consideration.

Hullbreacher - I haven't run Rhystic Study for a long time. I've always kinda felt like I should pick one up again. Hullbreacher, meanwhile, is another obvious inclusion as a tempo-oriented static control effect.

Commander's Plate - This card is nuts. Easy include. Like another Sword, but cheaper.

Feed the Swarm - Worth Consideration as low-cost enchantment removal in black.

    Commander Legends Review:

Demonic Lore - Worth consideration. I think it's marginally not good enough, but it's interesting, at the very least.

Opposition Agent - Yes, please. I love control cards like this.

Jeweled Lotus - This card is a dumb auto-include as a second copy of Dark Ritual. I hate the term auto-include, but unfortunately, it is what it is.

    Zendikar Rising Review:

Leyline Tyrant - Yes, please! This card is really solid for what the deck wants to do.

Moraug, Fury of Akoum - Worth consideration as a bomb, but it is a bit win-more. I like the idea.

Relic Robber - Cute card. Not super effective.

Valakut Awakening - Worth consideration, but the wheel effect is slightly less than strong enough.

Valakut Exploration - I like this card quite a bit for what it is.

Forsaken Monument - Great card for the deck. Interacts quite well with a lot of other cards, despite being on the high-mana side of things.

Lithoform Engine - I'm torn on this card. I like Rings-style cards, but this feels just slightly too costly for its effect not happening more than once per turn.

Skyclave Relic - Strictly better Darksteel Ingot? Sign me up!

    Commander Legends Review:

Coercive Recruiter - Comparable to Zealous Conscripts. Worth consideration.

Dargo, the Shipwrecker - I mean, it is just a beefy dude, but it's very easy for it to be a 1 mana 7/5 with trample.

Emberwilde Captain - Monarch is kinda whatever for me, but I'm going into the red zone a bit more often so I'm not entirely opposed to considering this card.

Flamekin Herald - I want to see this happen. A lot of cool effects from this. My thought process is grabbing Wheel of Fate, Mana Crypt, Mox Amber, Mox Opal, and maybe Mox Diamond.

Toggo, Goblin Weaponsmith - I feel like this card fits really well into what we want to do in the deck.

Wheel of Misfortune - I wish this card was better than it is. As is, I like the idea of it, but the most effective usage bothers me. I sorta feel obligated to test it if and when I next get a real game going.

Horizon Stone - Not nearly as effective as Leyline Tyrant. Worth consideration, but I think it's a little too do-nothing/win-more for its cost.

Ingenuity Engine - It's okay. At 7 mana, it's unlikely to be as worthwhile as I'd like, but it's worth consideration when going wide.

War Room - Decent consideration. Red decks like this one can use the draw, and this is one of the first lands where the cost/effect ratio might be worth it. That said, it's going to be hard to slot it in given the already present issues with lack of coloured mana. I'll see where I go on this. For now, picking one up to at least consider testing.

I changed my Norin to a Purphoros list in the past, and that version was relying more heavily on going wide, with cards like Snake Basket and Tempt with Vengeance. Moreover, I personally think Purphoros is, while undoubtedly more powerful, the more standard an frankly kind of dull option.

In other news: what do we think about the new carddrawing options Wheel of Misfortune and Jeska's Will?

Wheel is okay. A bit win-more. Jeska's Will is cool, though it must be the first spell you cast.

    Any thoughts on Jeweled Lotus?

No, the deck has too many things that work around Norin.

A Purphoros deck looks completely different.

What do you feel is specifically better with Norin than with Purphoros? Like, there have even been people commenting that the deck rarely swings in because it's more about getting a bunch of creature etb triggers through Genesis Chamber and a bunch of token generators. But those token generators work comparably well with Purphoros triggers, and Purphoros is realistically the number one option for creature etb triggers unless someone is legit just playing chaos with Confusion in the Ranks. Like, Norin himself would still be run main deck as an engine in a Purphoros deck styled similarly. The main point is that Jeweled Lotus works amazingly with Purphoros and doesn't work very well with Norin.

So does Jeweled Lotus make Purphoros the general to play instead of Norin?

Yeah all the admins and most of the mods left to set up a new site when the site almost closed; Shadow's in charge of admin stuff now iirc (though many of their accounts still have permissions it looks like?)

bobthefunny is another admin actually around. Not sure how many others are actually a thing.

Almost the entire staff and at least about half the userbase switched to another site.

I think that was an error. My role Discord message said Voyeur.

Yeah, Rhand's documentation had a very old version of the roles or something.

    Game Over

    Kip: I’m hungry!
    Chip: We’re out of chestnuts.
Kip: There, a stack of leaves. I bet there’s something yummy underneath!
    Chip: Let’s have a look.
    Kip: I found something!
Chip: Not something, someone. Isn’t that…
Kip: It’s Grumpy! He’s not moving!
Chip: But if this is Grumpy, then…
Kip: The Grumpy we just saw isn’t real!

The knowledge of the truth breaks the spell. A whirlwind engulfs Grumpy and moments later he is gone. Where he stood, an apple lies on the ground.

    Prophylaxis has died. They were:
    Poisoned Apple – Mafia one-shot even-night Poisoner

The Chipmunks quickly find the other dwarves. They follow them to the body of the real Grumpy and put him in a casket close to Snow White’s.

Kip and Chip are observing the scene from a tree.
The Bird and the Huntsman are standing around the caskets of their friends, weeping. The Queen had been taken care of, but that wouldn’t bring their friends back.

    Kip: It’s so sad.
Chip: I know. But at least some of them survived.
Kip: I wish there was a way to bring the others back.

There was a way, but not without true love.
The Queen would never interfere with them again, but yet this story could have had a better ending.

    Town has won!

Highroller - Bird – Town Voyeur
Ampharos - Huntsman – Town Vanilla
