Quote from DementedKirby »Interesting... I will probably just maintain my primers here just because they have some history and have been here for a while. There's lots of discussions and I believe that they'll still be useful if I'm still able to edit and maintain them. That being said, the staff here at MTGSalvation have made the experience and forums an amazing place and their dedication deserves way more merit and credit than can be given. I hope that, once MTGNexus is up and running, an announcement can be made and thus be able to create an account there (and hopefully no one takes my username ). It won't be easy juggling between being active in two different sites, but I will probably only be attentive here to my primers. If the exodus towards MTGNexus is a certain thing, then I will join that immigration.
If the people who make up the relevant parts of the community to you are moving, then going over there could be reasonable. If not, then, at least personally, the community is way more important than the staff. In my case, at this point in time, I'm almost exclusively focused on the Mafia side of things, with the occasional foray into EDH. The EDH section is losing a number of serious people to this schism, so I'm probably just forgoing the game altogether for the time being; I haven't played Magic since August of last year anyways, if I recall correctly. Both communities will probably change, but it's a question of convenience of staying here or loyalty to people who are moving, the primary group of which and force behind which is staff. Both sites are at an unstable state. This site needs a staff that is actively focused on it and appreciates the community, Nexus will need people who like the old staff of Salvation enough to want to be there, and doesn't have the funding or people to be as stable as Salvation potentially can be at this time.
That said, as a user, you probably won't even notice most of it. The staff are just people, just the same as users. Their authority is an artificial concept. So make sure that whatever you choose, it's based on your feelings about the community, not just following either the staff to Nexus or just staying here for the site structure itself, as either way, you'll likely end up disappointed if that's the reasoning for your choice.
Actually, the oracle text includes the reminder text. I agree with your point here, but in the "reminder text counts" rule, Trinisphere would count either way, currently, despite the reminder-less text on the FTV version.
Maybe. I've always felt more comfortable with piercings, to be honest, but I can certainly think of stupider life choices than getting a tattoo.
If I can fill out this job application, get enough sleep, and get to my interview in time tomorrow morning, I might have a line cook position.
That sounds delicious.
Honestly, I've never had much of an issue with it in any playgroup. I think I've met only a few people in person who complained about it. Though you have to figure out how useful the wish is going to be to you, as well, which may be a bit questionable.
I think whether or not I was sanctioning an event, I'd probably look at you funny if you changed the text of the card in such a way. But changing the background means nothing and fixes the most notable aesthetic issue. Alternatively, if you cover the entire text or the offending portion of text with artsy art, people might be cool with it.
You could get them altered...
I love using Tower of the Magistrate as a disruption tool against equipments.
Clearly this is another reason why you should get a webcam...
I disagree here. I think that while Petrified Field and the copy lands could be replaced, it's not actually that big a deal in the current state of affairs. I would replace Ghost Quarter with Strip Mine, though.
I'm one of these people, and I don't really agree with this change in the rules for hybrids.
I had asked earlier about motivation and got these responses (cropped down for ease of reply):
At that time, you seemed to be arguing from another point than mechanically; logistically. And that's potentially quite reasonable. From a mechanical perspective, as myself and people more firmly on the anti-hybrid side than myself have suggested, it doesn't seem to make quite as much sense.
Other users, meanwhile, seem to be arguing that change for the sake of change makes sense and that because they personally don't like these rules, that these rules should be changed. That makes even less sense to me, from a mechanical perspective.
Not counting Nephilim, there's some 5*10^256 plus "decks" that disagree with you on the whole "few decks" thing here. The number of decks that would be added by changing the rules are relatively few, sure, but the number of decks that can run them at the moment is huge.
This still is somewhat of a flavor reason... But you could think of it at that point as Magic progressing in ages; you are playing at a different time, when mana and spells work slightly differently.
