So, I kinda just forgot that I had 4 scapeshfts + all the peices in my binder and I forgot this deck was a thing. Well Ive found where my modern deck will be for a while.

    anyone with TARMOSHIFT ??

Ive tried it and goyf doesn't really compliment the deck very well. You just make yourself vulnerable to removal spells that might otherwise be dead cards while having a card that tends to be pretty medium without the proper backup. Not a fan but it has been done and there have been modest results. With the printing of fatal push I imagine this problem only gets worse. I have toyed a little with thing in the ice and its a better two drop IMO. It can provide another crypticesk effect. You can still block with it early game and it compliments the goal of this deck a lot more.

Well I am either into jund or naya company/big zoo as deck choices and heavily leaning towards dusting off my nights and getting in the red zone. No good RUG decks with tarmogoyf and snapcaster amge really exist so turning dudes sideways is the next plan.

Im wondering, is it possible to have a fairly balanced maindeck of straight beatdowns but with the ability to turn really really hateful in the sideboard for a mixed meta of grind but also your typical linear decks?

Should selling Spellskite be a priority? I know it's useful in a lot of matchups (infect vs removal heavy, other decks vs infect), but primarily it featured so heavily in s/b because it really hurts Splinter Twin.

I just can't believe they finally banned twin. I don't see what's different now than a year ago or two years ago or three years ago. Twin has always been dominant. I guess with Pod gone, they just took whatever was being played the most and banned a piece of it. If that's their long term ban strategy...ugh. Why even play the best deck in Modern if it'll get the ban "sometime in the future".

The problem I have with the sentiment is exactly this. Why buy into the best deck if I will just lose money. There will always be a best deck that is slightly better than the rest of the decks and there will always be a deck that is on the chopping block. And the twin ban in terms of meta distribution was only slightly higher than affinity of burn or grixis or bgx. The fact the justification was meta participation is just wrong and scary.

off the top of my head other decks that run Snapcaster Mage include- Grixis Control,Scapeshift(most recent variants play between 0-2 snapcasters),UWr control, UWr midrange,UB/x Faeries,WUR Delver,4C Gifts (maybe?),Sultai Control,Blue Moon.

and Decks that run Tarmogoyf not jund(k) - Knightfall(maybe?),Naya Company.

There is probably more, but that's all i can name off the top of my head

Temur Delver, Temur Prowess, counter cat

Rug moons and rug midrange/control come to mind as well. If you are really cheeky, tarmoshift

Well I lost my favorite deck. Needless to say I am very salty. Either way, it did seem a little out of the blue. Time to embrace my scapeshift in me.

Who the **** cares if they can now unban some blue cards when (if) those decks become strong, they WILL BE BANNED.

Because then literally anything that becomes strong is on the chopping block. Which means affinity is probably justified if twin is as well.

Welp guys, time to shelve twin and move to my next favorite modern deck in this. I am going to start with a fairly basic rug list and see how it goes

Pyroclasm only shines vs Elves maybe burn or Affinity, our affinity matchup is good to begin with. Problem with Radiant Flames is that it costs 3 mana which can easily be a turn to late. My first instinct is that it's Pyroclasm or Anger of the Gods if Abzan Compamy is running rampant in your meta.

That new Nature's Claim Variant: it seems it could fit our strategy. Only things Natural State doesn't hit are Leylines and Twin, and we are heavily favored in the Twin matchup anyway.

I think Kozileks return could be a thing

@Boaz Most of the time Tarfire acts like a 5th bolt, against delver, clique, hierarch, affinity stuffs, etc. For mishra's bauble it's like a "free" scry1 I know that it's a terrible topdeck in lategame so most part of the time I'm cracking the bauble on my own library and then cracking fetch if I don't like what I see.

Sarkhan does a decent work it takes 1 turn less to kill than Keranos and it fills up my hand in lategame in counterpart he's so much weak. High risk high reward.

@alpinefroggy Eyes of the wisent it's so big against grixis, here in France there's a lot of grixis deck and this cards it's just a pain in the ass for them, playing this on t3 with spell snare or dispel backup means good game, they are forced to use Snapcaster on their own turn and this result on a big control of the board. If you ever feel having a bad matchup against them I highly recommend to try this card :).

I apologize for not being word perfect in English! It's not my mother tongue.

There tends to be a few twin decks a few grixis and a bug deck so it would be a thing. I think I will try it.

Hello guys, i'm new to this topic and the forum, I'm playing this deck for the last 8th months and it's by far my favourite deck.

How do you feel playing against this new eldrazi deck?

I run my own version for t-twin

How do you like eyes. It seems pretty sweet. You dont really need it for twin mirrors since we are already favored there but it seems pretty decent as a thing vs grixis where they probably wont be able to remove it and counterspells become real liabilities or basically just uncastable

Any merit to the UR land? My first instinct is we got enough beaters allready, and 5 mana is a lot to keep open essentially.

Its not something I am going to run. Lands that come in tapped are not something we want on our curve or in our gameplan.

  • posted a message on [POLLS] What cards do you want banned or unbanned in the next announcement?
I know people want BBE but it gets shoehorned right into jund, a tier 1 deck, and doesnt really bring a color up from nothing or give the format more of what it already has. In other words improving an already good deck, one of the best decks, is not necessary. Thus I vote for stoneforge mystic because I think its perfectly fine when I do some thought experiments and ancestral vision because I think it isnt as good as people think it is where remands run around.

Bans I said nothing but I could see summer bloom go and maybe esnaring bridge. Twin, as much as I love it could also be on the block. The problem is that I dont see bans as doing anything productive whatsoever. Nothing is a problem. Things are annoying but they arent huge problems.

Oath of Nissa looks like it could warrant some testing.

I disagree heavily. Its horrendous for this deck. You can cantrip for a land or a creature a little more than half time. Ok great, if I get a land it isn't good and if I get a creature I feel happy sort of but wonder why I am just not playing sleight of hand.

And then you have an enchantment with essentially flavor text, the only planeswalker worth playing is sarkhan unbroken or jace and you dont need this to cast those spells.

So we are left with a bad cantrip that turns into flavor text. Tell me why you would want to play this?

Study the torah and you will find that as much as you disagree with it you abide by a majority of the divine law and expect society to as well
(murder/theft/adultery) i put those laws in the same category as Newtons Laws or Ohms Law as passing the scientific method
I'm sorry, no religious laws -- not even ones that I agree with, such as "thou shalt not kill" -- is anywhere close to the same category as scientific laws. Scientific laws are statements based on repeated experimentation. They describe events that we see. Social laws are instructions for behavior, generally backed up by some system of punishments for those breaking the laws.

Scientific laws state what things do do. Social laws state what people should do.

    Sharia is divine law

    How do you know?

And in response to the question of the thread, I have no faith. I am an agnostic atheist. I make no positive or negative statement about the existence of god because I have not been demonstrated either position. Atheism is simply a lack of beliefs, not the ascertain that god does not exist. Thus I am an atheist.
