    Quote from magac
Do any of you notice that in the BNG art, even the MOUNTAINS are enchantments? I really am curious as to what this means.... Xenagos building his own mountain shrine?

Maybe the actual card has those card types: Legendary Enchantment Land Creature - Mountain God:D

Monstrosity - xxg: Put X +1/+1 counters on Polukranos; Polukranos then deals damage equal to the number of counters put onto Polukranos this way divided as you choose among any number of target creatures. Activate this ability only once.

If this is really the final version of it's ability, the name "Polukranos, Ant Squeezer" would be more appropriate , because it can only kill tiny creatures Slant

    Not very monstrous or hydra-like

i like the style of the izzet-guild as "crazy mad scientist who do big experiments that may result in chaos" so i decided to plan a deck that works this way Wink

Deck-Idea is to use cantrips (Ponder, Preordain) in the early game, some Mana Artifacts and Defense in the midgame (Propaganda, Izzet-Signet, Fog Wall, Evacuation) and then do some chaotic stuff Wink

But at the moment i dont know that much chaotic cards in red/blue/colorless, only three that came to my mind were Worldfire, Warp World and Scrambleverse, so i may need some help there.

I think i won't include Warp World because my deck can't take much advantage of it with a low number of useful permanents and Scrambleverse is too annoying in big multiplayer games.

Lands will be adjusted when Spells are finished

  • posted a message on What is your favorite Green card?
Primordial Hydra, which can grow ridiculously huge

Garruk, Primal Hunter, who can draw ridiculous amounts of cards (especially whith ridiculous huge creatures)

Genesis Wave, when fueled with a ridiculous amount of mana, can bring a ridiculous amount of permanents into play Grin

So obviously, iam a Timmy and like green for it's ridiculousness Wink

  • posted a message on Rafiq VS Sublime AAngel
I thought about including it in my bant exalted deck, but decided not to.
My finisher slots are the following:
    3xElspeth, Knight Errant
    3xRafiq of the Many
    3xPrimordial Hydra
Elspeth grants evasion immediately or makes tokens if someone wiped the board or i need defense, so she stays.

Rafiq double strike is too efficient to cut, because all pump-effects are double effective with him on the field, especially with Elspeth ^^ and deathtouch is hosed too. Also better standalone card after board wipe.

Hydra is a nice standalone-Threat which can be cast early in the game if necessary, and lategame it's a nice mana-sink. It's also nice against lifegain strategies, and against control with a hydra on the field, i don't have to commit more cards to the battlefield to pressure the control player.

The Sublime Archangel is a very very excellent card, but i dont want to cut any of my finishers, and i dont want to cut non-finishers because that would increase the mana-curve :/ But iam not 100% sure if that is the right decision, so what do you think about the Archangel in comparison too my other finisher cards?

What happens when iam holding an Obstinate Baloth in hand and my opponent plays Smallpox?
Say i have no creature on the battlefield, and i choose to discard the baloth, am i forced to sacrifice it then because its already on the battlefield during resolution of smallpox? (because its a replacement-effekt and no triggered ability?)

  • posted a message on How does your Casual-Group look like?
because i heard that there are very different unterstandings and definitions of casual, iam curious about the properties of other casual groups Wink

    So i want to know:
1.) How many players does your group have?
2.) What is your favourite play variant?
3.) What kind of decks are represented in your group?
4.) What decks are considered the "Decks to beat" (if any)
5.) Whats the powerlevel of your decks?
So i begin with a description of the group i play magic with:
    1. Depends, minimum number is 4, maximum number is 6, in very very very rare cases 7
    2. Depends, too Grin A variant we play everytime we meet is free-for-all with a global planechase-deck. If we are 4, we play 2HG, if 6, Emperor. But we never forget to include some planechase-ffa shenanigans Grin
    3. I'd say, our deck pool consists of 70% creature-based decks such as Ramp, Tribal (Merfolk, Elves, Zombies, Goblins, Allies, Vampires, Treefolk) and other beatdown-decks (for example Serra-Ascendant - lifegain, or Splinterfright GY-Deck, even a GW-Maverick-Deck). 25% is control (UW,GWB, Mono-Red, Mono Blue, Mono Black Pox) an the last 5% is "combo" such as Splinter-Twin (is not played very often...) or Underworld-Dreams-Draw, Reanimator, Time Sieve
    4. Hm, i'd say the 12Post-Deck which plans to cast Emrakul as soon as possible, Allies, Elves, Goblins, Maverick, Reanimator
    5. I'd say our group's power level is "legacy light", we have two legacy-decks (goblins and maverick) and decks that pack other expensive cards such as Titans, Consecrated Sphinx, Elspeth 1, Cryptic Command, Baneslayer Angel, Entomb, Garruk, Primal Hunter. I think the price limit for a single card is around 10€ (~ 13 US$ ) with exceptions for the legacy-decks (alpha duals, Rishadan Port...).

All in all, its fun to play with this group and we have exciting games Smile Even if i think that our power level is much higher than the average group.

So what about your casual groups?
