I chickened out at the last minute last night and just played jeskai, but NOT nahiri.
I just ported the esper list and replaced charms with electrolyze, two verdicts replaced with kozileks return (instant speed wraths yay) and replaced to serums with lightning helix. Didn't run bolts
Did this mainly for easier access to crumble to dust. There's 5 tron guys at that shop out of 35 ish regular, known players.
Went 4-0. Played tron once, nahiri, affinity, and an allies brew (knaya)
Kozileks returns against affinity was the biggest blowout I've ever seen. Killed their 4 0 drops, a signal pest, a steel overseer , and an inkmoth nexus all at once on turn 4 , then untapped with cryptic in hand...
YouTube Brian kibler worlds caw go deck tech and just listen to Brian talk about it. He'all explain being a "mono white deck against aggro that happens to have Jace" and against control/ valakut being a "mono blue deck with Gideon"
How feasible is splashing green for Fog and new Tamiyo? what could i cut? fog is a 1 mana timewalk against affinity and infect, and also helpful on burn. my point is to survive long enough to ult tamiyo and have omniscience
It's fine. Idk how good tamiyo will be, that sounds like a different deck altogether
I however am splashing a steam vents for crumble to dusts and slaughter games in the board.
Meaning: post board I'm either mono white that happens to have mana leaks and cryptic, or I'm mono blue that happens to have secure the wastes and halo
I'm a fan of unglued basics myself, to poor to foil out a magic deck haha, the deck regular is expensive enough!
Once you have the deck, you gotta do something with all the store cred it racks up haha. Who cares about other decks? The only other deck I would've really invested in in paper (Twin) got banned. People on this thread are really serious about Esper, and the culture is super addictive.
I would never have tried to foil out a deck, but then I realized that all I really wanna do in Modern is play Esper haha. And why not do it in style? Once you find the Modern deck, you stop worrying that much about other ones.
Edit: That said, if you don't feel strongly towards this deck, I would not advise foiling it out.
Lol your post represents exactly how I feel.
I brew lots of other stuff, I even designed 2 decks for my team mates that they've been tearing up win a mox and win a box stuff with (Notably, my UB Fae build) , but anytime I even play another deck just for testing team purposes, I feel naked and out of place
I have to be doing durdly things and resolving supreme verdict. There's no better feeling than watching an elves player or zoo player over extend and then getting a four or five for 1. My blood pumps faster just TYPING that sentence and thinking about it.
Bouncing your lili with cryptic, drawing, then charm snap charming you
I think I need some time alone you guys
Also, ditto on twin being the only other deck I could have reasonably played. Far had its draws, but this boy loves to durdle.
Out of curiosity why do you think wafo cut snares entirely? Is modo just that weird? Wouldn't affinity and burn be everywhere on modo, thus making snare really good?
Lol
But thunderderous truth only mained 3 esper charm
thunderous truth is dead to me.
On the bright side, wafo's maindeck is basically cemented now. Sideboard has an abnormal amount of dredge hate.
Question time! How does he beat tron, and blood moon?
http://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/451893#paper
He did it again
Only issue is your tools to fight opposing control combo decks are limited (a few dispel and some runed halos)

I rewatch that vid once every other month or so
People will even tell you keranos is unplayable
However I sleeved up my foily Japanese keranos tonight also. Slams bg/x. Beats blood moon hilariously, and doesn't care about ensnaring bridge
I APPROVE

And I'm back on the old caw-go philosophy
