There is a trading thread every Monday on the top of the MagicTCG Reddit. There's not as many traders as here on MTGS but you have to repost your list every week so you know the ones posting are actually looking to trade.
I've started trading through Reddit or Deckbox. Ever since the switch-over trading has drastically changed for me. I've also started playing legacy so that may affect my decisions and wants.
There are a lot of users on here that do alters as well. I'm not sure how many are still available but here is a list that used to be updated before we came to the Curse site. You may wanna give them a try.
Didn't Snapcaster Magefish go from $16 - $35 a little while back. I would call that a significant jump since it basically doubled in price. However, aside from this initial jump it has not gone up further, which is suprising given the explosion of Modern pricing
Snapcaster's price has actually been declining slowly after it's price surge a while back and it's closer to $31 now. It's still a very reasonable price and I would recommend anybody who hasn't their copies now to pick them up.
Also has anyone seen Sword of Fire and Ice's price recently particularly the Modern Masters version? It's up to $41 now up from around $35 a couple days ago. I'm not sure where SOFAF is played but it may be a Commander card now that I think of it.
A lot of its growth is due to True Name Nemesis. The pro blue lets you get past TNN and both the abilities are relevant in almost any game. Plus the MMa art is so nice.
Lightning Bolt- if I have to explain why I love this card you haven't ever cast one.
Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas- I won my first FNM with a UB Tezzeret list and he's always had a place in my heart because of it. Plus his abilities are just nuts.
This last one is much harder than the precious two but I have to go with Snapcaster Mage. He's such a fun card that's incredibly powerful and it helps he took me to my first day 2 at GP Detroit
I'm excited to draft it but I'm kinda bummed about cards only being able to be used during that draft (the land that allows you and the people next to you choose 3 colors it can tap for; can't find the name ATM). Beyond those I feel the set will be really cool and awesome for EDH....I want Scourge the Throne so bad lol
Prison is also a big part of Travis Woo's Mono White (enchantment) Control list. Basically it's all of Moderns hate enchantments main boarded with Sigil of the Empty Throne as it's wincon. It's a fun deck when everything goes right but idk why Prison would be rising. It was reprinted 3 times after Kamigawa (given 2 were more limited). Maybe someone had extra funds after buying up the Tendo Ice Bridges and decided to pick up some prisons too lol

For godsake, please let it go. Go ruin another thread with an argument about purple borders, or whatever other petty debate you feel like derailing a thread with today. Better yet, there is an entire debate forum for exactly the kind of conversation you're looking for.
The filterlands are an important part of the modern manabase and have increased significantly in price in the past few months and are continuing to trend upward. This is relevant information and I for one appreciate the observation.
Your pet card is not used by anyone and has increased by the price of a pack of Fallen Empires. We don't care. Please stop.
The person derailing the thread is you, not me. I'm talking about the rules, and you're talking about personal preferences about what cards you like. Why didn't you post about Spell Pierce? It also increased by the price of a pack of Fallen Empires.
In the end, whether or not you care about a particular card is not relevant to whether or not the card is discussed here. Plenty of people cared about the cards I talked about, so if you don't, best to just keep mum.
Also worth noting you commented on Spell Pierce moving, it apparently wasn't a problem then. People are interested in a highly played common moving because of it's widespread use, Tendo Ice Bridge is barely played in a fringe deck so it isn't on people's radar's for the most part. But that's neither here nor there.
On a gainers topic, or rather losers, Liliana or the Veil seems to be slipping back. Do you guys think this is because of the loss of DRS? I notice she doesn't show up nearly as much anymore in modern, for the most part I only see her in BG Midrange.
They should make a god fetchland and make it uncommon
Super land
Tap, sacrifice, and pay 3 life. Search your library for any land that can produce 2 or more colors and put it on the battlefield.
Or better yet just print 1 fetchland per set for the next 10 sets with blue ones coming last lol. I agree fetch prices are pretty high but this game has exploded over the past 5 years. I remember at GP Columbus saying I'll never pay $1000+ for a deck....that's now out the window.
I don't believe their derailing the thread, rather questioning your motives of watching the card move with such scruntity. It may be moving but everything is trending upwards with mtg's growth and watching a $2 card increase isn't much priority for most of the users.
On another note how high do you think Scapeshift can go? I've thought it was underpriced as a staple in a tier 1 deck and if splinter twin can pass 20 I don't see why Scapeshift can't see the same levels if not more.
I've definitely noticed a downward trend from the new site. I used to get a decent bit of trades but anymore I have to really search them out. I'm not putting all the blame on the new layout though, or TCGplayer for that matter. I think a big part of it is with as volatile as the market has been the past 6 months or so many people are just sitting on their cards in fear they will miss the next spike.
MTGS just isn't what it used to be...for better or worse. I've debated moving to MOTL but most of you guys are pretty awesome
Just finished Junk Stoneblade? Legacy is so hard to find, but with so many people entering into the game, there are some who are getting into Legacy because they want a non rotating, less restricting format, so popularity is actually increasing. It took me 2-3 years to find this place, and there were only 12 players with a 10 proxy allowance. People are bending over backwards just to play this format and make it available.
Yeah, I had Dark Confidants, Liliana, and Thoughtsize already from my modern deck. All I had to get was Wasteland, Duals, and a SFM package (not playing goyf). I've always enjoyed legacy but when underground sea and volcanic spiked I decided it was better to bite the bullet rather than be potentially priced out for good. I'm guessing the first tournament I'll get to enter is SCG open in Columbus next month. Hopefully fetches get reprinted and I can play something blue
I just finished my first legacy deck in 4-5 years. I played goblins awhile back but fell away from legacy in lieu of modern. Now I just have to find somewhere to play I just saw the tides rising and didn't want to be priced out

They are so damn nice. They're gonna end up stupid expensive like Guru lands though
I want the panoramic framed and on my wall ASAP though
Oh and btw you know at least one more person from twitch I saw you guys talking the other day on oarsmans channel but couldn't reply from my phone lol
