Title says it all. I'm most interested in K-Red, but I also want to hear what people think about what will happen to the rest of standard.
Anyway, K-Red options:
Red Praetor- Probably costs too much, but could be okay as a 1 or 2 of.
Darksteel Relic- Another 0 cost artifact for the deck, but doesnt do anything other than that. Not sure if its worth taking something else out of the deck, but redundancy is always a good thing.
Gut Shot- My favorite so far for K-red. We don't really care about our life totals, and we need to conserve as much mana as possible, and take out blockers. Its good, but I'm not sure if its better than the rest of the burn we have available.
Gitaxian Probe- A "free" cantrip and hand peep could be very helpful.
Mycosynth Wellspring- Some K-Red decks already use Ichor Wellspring, so I can see this being useful.
Am I missing anything?
If you guys post good cards to use for the decks already in standard, or what new decks can emerge, I'll edit the OP.
Haven't you seen Vault Skirge? It's a 1/1 with flying and lifelink that costs 1 mana.
Ok, let's say your drafting an infect deck. You got 2 good infect creatures on your first 2 picks and you have 2 good infect choices for 3rd, say virridian corruptor and flesh-eater imp. Now no matter which you choose the person to your left will see a good infect creature at 4th pick and may take that as a signal that infect is open.
Is it legal to publicly state your drafting infect in order to discourage the left player from going that route so you don't get cut infect creatures on pack 2?
What about telling just him your drafting infect, so as to not give too much info to the other drafters?
In between packs we can look at our choices thus far, could I show him some of my picks (by then the discouraging would be a mute point, but I'm just being thorough).
No you can't do any of that at all.
1) Other players might start to draft infect because you publicly stated it, so it might give the opposite effect.
2) Nope, then he'd start cutting you out of infect cards. The thing about draft is, that you pick cards your potential opponents might pick.
3) You shouldn't do this. Though I've seen this done before, but it's tolerated to an extent.
All I do is sit back and gain life. Serra Ascendants are a win condition, and the Mistveil Plains serve as an alternate win condition- just prolong the game enough that people would scoop or deck out.
I suggest Lead the Stampede if you're ever going to play green with Kuldotha, because it fills up your hand nicely, esp. since there's a lot of creatures in KRed.
