People mostly suck at deckbuilding, and because of that, they won't make a deck until they see an article where a pro says that such given deck is actually good.
This.
I played a guy in a Extended game the other day and not only did he refuse to acknowledge me Mistbind Clique'ing him at upkeep (which led to him Blightning'ing me and me saying "lol sure bro why not",) but also him thinking that bolting one Faerie out when I have 6 was enough to stop the Clique as to him it "targeted".
Silly people playing Jund when they have no idea how to play is silly.
I'm sure the same case shows up for this deck too.
Why am I suddenly encountering it all the damn time though? It's like everyone dropped whatever they were playing before and sleeved this up in a hurry.
Because the second the masses hear the phrase "this deck is good", they all run like madmen to sleeve it up and show how uber pro they are, and then claim that they totally "didn't copy it".
a.) Has a common theme between your general and the cards in it (outside of tutors, counterspells, etc).
or
b.) Just has good stuff you like in those colors.
Don't copy someone else's deck though..the format is almost entirely casual, and netdecking a 100 card singleton deck is stupid anyway..just make what you like and roll with it.

God that just makes me feel sick to my stomach thinking of the silly, silly draw-damage.
"End of turn, Stroke of Genius you for 10 and take 20."
Both just seem so sick.

Pretty sure the other cards in the cycle are as followed (at least what it seems like from the orb):
XUUU
XWWW
XBB
For the Hydra though? I can honestly see him fitting the */* spot. Maybe with power/toughness equal to the number of poison counters on an opponent?
..yep, those wouldn't be broken at all.
