I'm an oldish magic player coming back into the game after a two year break and recently got my hands on a deck finally. I have friends helping me with figuring out what to sideboard and have a list of what to sideboard in and out vs what decks. I recall that you're allowed outside notes for sideboarding but, I also recall there being a specific rule involving it- Is there a size limit on the sheet of paper you can use, number of- and so forth? or am I crazy and this rule for outside notes no longer or never existed in the first place?

Anyone else notice that the cage says "or Libraries" ....now- If I recall there is a single card that you can cast from your library which is Panglacial Wurm... Now I don't think it'll get reprinted and I dont think that a card like this would be printed to simply prevent some casual player to cast their Panglacial Wurm.... So does this mean we'll likely see cards like the wurm?!

Edit: Misread- it says enter from not cast-

I think your on to something... Red seems to be very strong right now- With Inferno Titan being devestating against illusions, it's draw argueably better than think twice, and gives access to threat spells as well as bolt spells- We may see a 4cc variant. Its VERY unlikely however that it'll go into URW or URB.... this is because the core of the deck we need is UBW... we may be able to strech the mana more but, it'll take a long time to get it correct and it'll be an aganozing process. Shame theres no longer fetches... closest we have is ghostquarting ourselves which- in a control deck isn't great.

I'm unsure of how everyone's meta looks at their local card shop but- I have an invasion of U/W and U/R illusions entering my area. I've noticed my match ups are rather hard against them as I've found Mental Misteps to be essicential against them. The question I want to look at for an answer is do you guys feel with the current decks out in standard does Solar Flare still stand at supremecy? I've noticed much more that my matchs have gotten harder than before and decks are getting rather close to beating me.
On another topic Spoofed brings up a good point- Shimmering Grotto is something thats a very strange card to look at. Normally people would consider this worthless or a bad card. However, there have been decks top 8ing with it in their lists and it is doing it's job well. So with this meta still in development should we really take a better look at our options and not rule out things that we would normally consider "bad"?

This is kinda ridiculous, dude. You can just search for everything except for what you want and leave like 5 cards left in your library which you want.

Besides the honest mistake of Spoof's forgetting Mirran Crusader has Pro Black (I mean really guys, don't crucify him for it). You may get the idea of why I have Dead Weight in my Sideboard... My Sideboards constantly changing though as the meta shifts from one edge of the spectrum to the other. With Aggro running rampant my Sideboard has begun to focus more upon that rather than having some additional answers for control.
What I'm getting at here is- From what I've seen and heard players that bring in beaters usually do it for the control match up or possibly the additional Wurmcoil if its aggro. So do you guys think in this heavy aggro times that beaters in the sideboard are worth the slot? Another way I look at it is should we focus upon a heavier targeted removal sweat?
Most Solar Flare Mainboards will run anywhere from 3-6 Targeted Removal and 2-4 Day of Judgements. If we sideboard in kill spells for the creatures do you think we're hindering them enough with a simple 1 for 1? The issue I see here is if our sideboard does only 1 for 1s and they're able to manage through that then we may not be sideboarding the correct cards.
With that thought in mind lets look back at Dead Weight a card I've choosen personally for a sideboard slot (1x). It is a simple 1 for 1 that costs a single black. However, I run a single Sun Titan. With the digging of my deck I can ensure the possibility of having my Sun Titan as my threat that game around 33% of the time (The other times being a Grave Titan, Wurmcoil, or Elesh). With this is in mind Dead Weight becomes a 0 for 1 with Sun Titan. Allowing me to not waste any cards in removing a creature on their board. While it is true Sun Titan could bring something else back probably it would likely only be a land or- in some cases a Lilly (in which case I'd likely bring lilly back and have them sac).
While I'm aware of statistic and the probabilities of having both of those going at the same time is rather low the chance is still there. When it happens it produces a significant threat that will allow me to freely kill creatures that are a problem for me.
Now- of course take this with a grain of salt as thats my personal opinion but, I'd like to hear what else everyone has to say about the card?

Just FYI, the Egg tribe is no longer supported. There's a reason Ludevic's Test Subject is a Lizard.
