Oct 21, 2014ShiroeTheEnchanter posted a message on Off Topic: Analyzing AurasI'm seeing this stuff right before each TCG decklist. It's basically some kind of JSON data representing the actual decklist which follows.Posted in: Articles
I checked in Firefox and Chrome, and I see this in both. If you're not seeing it, it may be restricted to my machine.

The only way that I can see the "choose creature or removal" philosophy will work right now is in limited and post-M15 Standard. Eternal formats like Vintage, Legacy, and Modern are stuck in a rut, because their total card pool includes cheap removal.
I think the best way to realize your vision (and Wizards) is to create a new eternal format and re-baseline it at M15/Theros going forward (or M15/RTR). That way, most cheap removal is gone, and there is design space for better Auras (your desire) and more balanced removal (Wizards's desire). However, that could result in a customer revolt from long-time Modern players. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
A card game doesn't need strong secondary market monetary value to stay alive. The game needs to be fun and supported. Pokemon and YuGiOh are still alive after 10+ years, and they have higher reprint frequencies. People are obviously still buying their stuff, because if sales weren't meeting the manufacturer's expectations, neither card game would still be alive.
That $174 is on paper and unrealized until it is sold. If the card is too expensive, it will sit in their inventory and produce no revenue for them.
These days, if a LGS relies only on cards/sealed produce as revenue while their other costs rise (rent, etc.), that business would eventually go bankrupt. I see more and more LGSes turning into gaming cafes rather than just sell product. I think it's perfectly viable to sell product at a smaller profit margin as a driver to come to the store and buy other things or sit down and game and buy food.
Wizards will not crash prices. They cannot publicly acknowledge the secondary market, but it is evident by the way they handle their reprint equity that they do care about secondary market prices to some extent.
Wall of Reverence as well.
But, it's also a $4-$5 rare. Not worth opening a $14 pack for.

I think I prefer Enchanted Evening to power up my Tuvasa as a Voltron-style play. Enchanted Evening with a forced draw (or comboing with Cleansing Meditation) is a little "anti-social" for my tastes. I would only go as far as the Enchanted Evening + Aura Thief combo.
I had thought about Solemnity in conjunction with cards like Force Bubble and Decree of Silence, but Force Bubble isn't good by itself and Decree of Silence costs 8 mana normally.
You have convinced me to save up money to get an Enchanted Evening.
I have the four auras you mentioned. I will explore this route. I have to reconfigure my deck to be less focused on taxes and more about creatures.
Serra's Sanctum is out of my budget, and I am not interested in making proxies.
I had forgotten about Enchanted Evening affecting all permanents, including my land. Yeah, it would make Tuvasa super strong late game.
Thanks for the ideas!
