Oct 21, 2014ShiroeTheEnchanter posted a message on Off Topic: Analyzing AurasI'm seeing this stuff right before each TCG decklist. It's basically some kind of JSON data representing the actual decklist which follows.Posted in: Articles
I checked in Firefox and Chrome, and I see this in both. If you're not seeing it, it may be restricted to my machine.

The only way that I can see the "choose creature or removal" philosophy will work right now is in limited and post-M15 Standard. Eternal formats like Vintage, Legacy, and Modern are stuck in a rut, because their total card pool includes cheap removal.
I think the best way to realize your vision (and Wizards) is to create a new eternal format and re-baseline it at M15/Theros going forward (or M15/RTR). That way, most cheap removal is gone, and there is design space for better Auras (your desire) and more balanced removal (Wizards's desire). However, that could result in a customer revolt from long-time Modern players. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
Modern Enchantress operates a couple of different ways.
You play Enchantress to draw into your lock pieces and then your win conditions. They can be any of the following or combination of them. But, almost of them require Solitary Confinement to prevent the opponent from doing damage or targeting the Enchantress player.
Destiny Spinner: This animates your lands, regardless if you have auras on them of not. Some lists will include 1-2 Greater Auramancy, so the lands that do have auras on them will get shroud.
Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or Kozilek, Butcher of Truth: Eldrazi
Sigil of the Empty Throne: Usually a 1-of. Once the board is locked down or you are protected by Solitary Confinement, you now cast additional enchantments.
Helix Pinnacle: Use Sanctum Weaver to get a ton of mana.
Freed from the Real: Some decks use this to get infinite mana.
Example spell that exiles: Mindbreak Trap
Spell Queller exiles a target spell, and at some point later, Spell Queller leaves the battlefield. If the controller of the exiled spell does not want to cast the spell without paying its mana cost for whatever reason, does the spell remain in exile?
Pacifism
I was playing Arena, and this interaction didn't make sense to me.
An opponent cast Minimus Containment on my Pacifism to free up their creature. So, it turned into a Treasure token. If I disenchant or remove Minimus Containment from the battlefield, what happens to Pacifism? Do I get to put it on a creature? Arena put it into the graveyard.
There is nothing in the existing lore that Jerred the Bishop can't also be running an orphanage. Historically, some churches did run orphanages. "Heron's Grace" would imply he is a part of the Sigardan congregation, except that he is corrupt. To outsiders, the orphanage might be caring for kids that lost their parents, but Jerred is obviously using them for hard labor. That isn't different than how orphanages were depicted in stories like Oliver Twist.
I think Gideon Blackblade enters the battlefield as a creature AND a planeswalker if you cast it on your turn. So, if it's your turn and you cast Gideon Blackblade, I think Rezzachan would be correct that no counters can be placed on Gideon Blackblade. So, it would die on your opponent's turn, since it has no loyalty counters and is not a creature.
If you were to cast Gideon Blackblade on an opponent's turn, you would get the loyalty counters, because it's not a creature. Once your turn starts, you can remove loyalty counters, but you cannot add them as Gideon is a creature on your turn.
