Welcome back to Magic. I'm in the same situation as you. I played about 8-10 years ago; starting in the revised days. I just got back into it. I'm amazed at a lot of the new cards and new combo concepts. It's mindboggling all the things you can do with almost 15,000 different cards.
Actually, having a VERY large card pool in the current Standard is the thing that amazes me the most and also one of the reasons I decided to go back playing again. It's just great to have different types of decks to play with and knowing that the list just goes on and on (not like during the Mirrodin block where you would only face either an affinity or a TNA deck only
Welcome!
just so you know... you aren't allowed to double post. hope i didn't make a bad impresion... wtf ?? i just saw that you joined in january 2005 (before me). why are you in the introduce yourself forum??? i know you restarted playing and it had been 2/3 years but where is the year missing?
thanks for the advices (also to you bornover). yup i joined two years ago but i haven't got the time until now to fully concentrate and play competitively in Magic and i'm glad now that i can
Welcome, are you getting into competitive or casual?
I'm getting into competitive play now. I'm excited on trading online, especially here at MTGSalvation, although I'm am still asking around for the prices of shipping cards back and forth our country so that I would be able to start trading here. So far, I haven't got any idea on how the shipping cost would become a factor on my trading online? anybody got an idea?
I know the guy who designed this list, it may not be the same list but chances are it is. It plays heavy control untill it can get Locket of yesterdays and Whispers of the Muse combo going( Muse costing U WITH buyback). With that you can draw your whole deck in about 2 turns. Then it uses Gae's Blessing to shuffle 3 cards into its empty deck, another blessing, Walk the Aeons and another extra card. It can repeat this prosess as much as you want playing the extra card infinitely, normlly a boomerang at first bouncing all you opponents permanents, then decking them witha few hundred Compulsive Research.
this seems very interesting for a deck but we would gladly appreciate it if you would be able to post the complete deck list for this?
Darkness is the choice for me because during one of my tournament experience, it helped me win against an aggro deck and the funny thing is that i was playing a Black/White Rack deck with no creature bombs other than Hyppie!
i started playing 1996, Revised was the 1st release expansion of Magic that i have touched and ever since, loved it although due to financial constraints (and finishing college) i stopped for about 2-3 years and now, here i am again.
Hello to everyone, my name is Eric and I'm from the Philippines. I recently just got back from playing Magic the Gathering CCG and hoping to trade from all of you great people here in MTGSalvation
I can't seem to understand why? first things first though, I ain't an affinity deck player, so this is not stating that i'm on their side. The only reason i'm writing this is to further understand why??? Banning the artifact lands wasn't enough? and they had to kill Whisper and the Ravager as well? I think banning the arti-lands alone left affinity in great trouble, but i don't see the harm of letting the Ravager and the Whisper stay? If so, can someone explain to me how can any affinity deck win without the arti-lands? So WOTC please, please explain why on Earth did you had to axe almost ALL of the main parts of the affinity deck? This is the reason why I hate T2, because if a deck gets too good, WOTC axe every freaking good card there is to axe!!!
Please refrain from using large, bolded text in the future. It's hard on peoples' eyes and annoying.
