All-star finisher in my Zurgo Superfriends deck. Planeswalkers get to live, Academy Rector dying to this will fetch either Debtor's Knell or Assemble the Legion for me. The "uncounterable" clause makes it worth running in case Jokul can't get in there.
My Sen Triplets is exactly what you are talking about. It's not group hug, but it does try to favor the person whos lagging behind/people who are playing Archenemy with you against another person. It also has a side of punishing overextension, taking a page off Rachmiel's Tariel "You'll thank me for this" list.
Two things of note: this was before the removal of Rule 4 so hate is surely to be a factor, and my playgroup isn't super competitive.
I do like Sen Triplets for the ability to actually reveal a hand. It creates political tension and it sometimes raises awareness of the board.
Tempest even without a large Dragon theme is great with Nicol Bolas because of how much of a blow-out it can be. If you push for a Dragon sub-theme, don't forget you have access to the Scourge of Valkas/Rite of Replication combo.
One thing I learned before settling with my equipment general of choice, Jor Kadeen, is that your mana is going to be spent a lot during your turn. Equipping, casting creatures, maybe a mana rock. You really have to have your deck commit to dropping effectively costed creatures in order to make the most of your Equipment, since they aren't cheap when activated multiple times.
That said, if you plan to go with Aurelia, don't make her the one-drop wonder on turn 6 without some way of protecting her. She shines through the most as a 8~10 drop when you have Equipment to put on her at the very same time.
Often times if I place curled foils under something heavy enough with the bowed side face up, it'll even them back out. A few encyclopedias or hefty books do the trick just fine. It's something I have to deal with here in southeast Texas because of the humidity (I need to get some silica gel packets...)
FWIW, T&T is known for this kind of thing, along with shipping issues and miscellaneous other crap.
You gotta have it stand there for a good few hours but even then it's not guaranteed. If you are concerned about storing your foils, go to a cigar shop and get a Humidor. Averages around 30 bucks and then buying more silaca gel filters, but they do work.
Derevi herself untaps anything. Anything being something that taps for more than one mana. Derevi Stax makes it so she's always ahead of the game and hurdles over the stax/tax more effectively than anyone else.
Wallet, Keys, Phone (Samsung Galaxy S4). I always have a ritual to myself everywhere I got to tap each respective pocket to make sure everything is there every time I ever get up. Keys on left pocket, phone right pocket, wallet back-right pocket. This is due to my insane fear of losing anything and my insane habit of forgetting something 2 minutes later.
Occasionally carry a very small knife depending on where I'm going.
As mentioned in the Standard Prices thread: Madness works with her. Graveyards work with her. This is a factor to how she is gaining steam in speculations.
Her [0] is absurdly powerful even without taking either to consideration.
Looks like a pretty solid list of a standard Karador deck. The Martyred Rusalka is an admirable choice for a sac-outlet. Though I want to address the fact that given how you're going strictly toolbox, I don't see the better tutors like Worldly Tutor/Vampiric Tutor or Buried Alive in your list. Is there a reason for that?
Has anyone else tried the captain sisay before and what did you think? Same goes for mother of runes; I'm uncertain about her and added her mainly because I needed another solid 1 drop to replace viscera seer.
The thing with Sisay is that you want her to get something out to your hand and then to play as quickly as possible since she paints a target on her head. When I played Sisay as a general, my number one first tutor was actually Karametra for her ramping effect, followed by a lockdown piece like Elesh Norn or Iona. With her in the helm you can reliably get her ability to go off asap with the use of Hall of the Bandit Lord or Thousand-Year Elixer. In the 99 that's a little harder to do, but can sometimes pay off anyway if your table isn't really paying attention to the fact that it's freakin' Sisay. I'd honestly say pass on her and just put in Buried Alive.
Mother of Runes is a good card, but for the same reason as Sisay she doesn't tap immediately unless you can give her haste. She helps with general-reliant stradagies, but Karador's strength lies more in the creatures he comes back with.
I got a few of them. Fred/Barney, Gru, and Bender. All when I was visiting a comic shop out of town and thought of them as souvenirs for myself. I also have a Nicol Bolas one since I admire how giant it is compared to the others.
There are actually a lot of them I would want, though. The variety is so outrageous.
Also secret tech in Titania.
Firebombers is such a good card in my Jor Kadeen stax, also a card put into great use in my friends Feldon deck.
