Just for the record, Path to Exile is the second most common removal spell in the format, and it laughs at all of these.

Not hexproof. And so what? Don't play creatures? There are only 4 Paths per deck, and if he plays black he can get a bit of hand disruption going to help out with those anyway.

Anyway, as for OP there are definitely more creatures/non-creatures you can consider. I don't know if you want to due a full Gatherer search or anything, but there are a plethora of guys difficult to kill for various reasons (Squee, Goblin Nabobcomes to mind). For this kind of deck I actually prefer the non-creature threats at the top end (usually walkers like Elspeth or Garuk), with some early tough guys to bait more unconventional removal.

As for sweepers, any Wrath of God style sweeper should keep most of your guys safe, and you already have BSZ shenanigans. 3 toughness is the magic number for G/R decks, so any sweeper aimed specifically at that deck should do at least that much. Slagstorm and Anger of the Gods are the most obvious. Cauldron of Souls is also interesting.

Hope some of this is useful.

I voted Spider, but upon further reflection the Returned is definitely correct. Hero is nowhere near Pack Rat unfair. I actually don't think the Hero will be particularly amazing, though still pretty decent. I don't envision it getting more than a couple counters, and then only later in the game where it is good to be certain, but not anywhere near broken. Returned is better at all stages for me, and puts me in black, where I love being in Theros :D.

Misting win 2-1 over klein. Seriously close games, there. Well played to klein!

Confirmed. And hey, you had me very worried early on that second game, and you forced me to be ridiculously cautious even later. Well played to you.

Okay, I think something like this should work:

    Curve is...
    1: I
    2: IIIII
    3: IIII
    4: III
    5: IIIIII
    6: II
    7: I
...atrocious. And that's not even corrected for when I'm actually likely to play certain cards (Time to Feeds, Vipers Kiss, Marauder). Going to play 18 in the build. I'm also leaving out the second Warrior since I have very few targeting effects, and I like all my five drops too much. I like splashing for the Lion and Emissary off of the Presence. Probably run 2 Plains. Manabase should be something like:

    Relevant Sideboard:

I should maybe be playing those sandals anyway, but I like the helm better. Here goes nothing...

I actually want the Asphodel Wanderer in case I badly need early drops.

    Shredding Winds for the board.

More Time to Feed!!! That makes 20 non-splash related playables. We'll see of we can get there without absolutely needing to splash. I probably will throw in at lest a bit of white for the Lion, so a white splash brings my count up to 23 for the Lion, Presence, and Emissary. Probably would not splash Sentry because too many five-drops. Still, it's nice to see that I have a deck now!

When I started thinking about Evangel, it was about two turns before the big swing. It would have been lethal, then you dropped the third Lagonna. Still, it would have probably discouraged the swing, since suddenly I have about six extra bodies with 2 power. All your guys pretty much had 2 toughness. Aside from Sea God's I was scared to death you would find Ray of Dissolution to kill the Spear, especially given how much scrying you were doing with the Battlewises and Dissolves.

I lost 2-0 :(, though it's not entirely unexpected. He did draw both Archons both games, and both were very long and tense. I don't have the energy to do a full write up right now, but here's the gist.

G1: Gets some early hits with Daxos before I lash it. It comes down to a still with his Archon with an Archon on it and my lifelinkers. Eventually he Lagonna's out of lethal, and beats be down.

G2: I begin with no Swamps and a Spear, but eventually land an Ordeal on a Tormented Hero with Spear down. I Lash his first Archon, and my Hero grows out of range of the second, and I'm above 30. I make a misplay with God's willing and wind up getting the Hero Voyage's Ended, resulting in one of the biggest board stall I've ever seen. I drop dorks who can't break through, he drops Lagonnas and gains life and can't swing because I always hold up Spear mana, despite the fact that he has twice as many guys as me. Eventually, however, he Sea Gods Revenges my board and swings with a monster army, and my Spear can't keep up. I might have survived if he didn't have tricks to kill the blocker which I replayed, but he just drew his stall-breaker before I drew one (Mogis's, Evangel, Scholar, even Keepsake might have worked).

    Good games to him!
