The Custom Card Random Card of the Day for 12/9/18 is Electrolyze.

    A Chinese-menu classic.

    Design -
(2/3) Appeal: Definitely a Timmy/Johnny card. Spike's not very interested in such an unreliable card.
(1.5/3) Elegance: Quite wordy and complex in its politics, yet still grokkable.

    Development -
(2.5/3) Viability: Mythic is correct. Hard-pressed to see a land without a mana ability even in a supplemental set. Brick counters are an artifact mechanic but that's not such a big deal.
(3/3) Balance: Hard to see how to abuse this card without great effort.

    Creativity -
(1/3) Uniqueness: Obviously majorly inspired by Helix Pinnacle but the group nature of it is a new wrinkle.
(2.5/3) Flavor: Name makes sense in a treaty-signing sort of flavor. Maybe could have used short flavor text.

    Polish -
(2/3) Quality: Couple of spelling errors; also, join forces needs italics.
    (2/2) *Main Challenge: Good.
    (2/2) Subchallenges: Colorless land, check.

    Total: 18.5/25
    Design -
(3/3) Appeal: Absolutely wild Timmy/Johnny card; Spike appreciates the Insurrection mode.
(1.5/3) Elegance: A lot of complex implications, but relatively easily understandable.

    Development -
(3/3) Viability: It's unclear what colors this effect is. I'll take it in red-white because Lord knows they need some kind of help in Commander. Rarity seems, well, right.
(2.5/3) Balance: On one hand: Swingy, and 5RW is undercosted for Insurrection. On the other hand: Wild seven-mana card primarily meant for multiplayer shenanigans.

    Creativity -
(2/3) Uniqueness: The nearest possible black-border-ization of Better Than One? Definitely a quite unique main effect even if the secondary effect has a lot of precedent.
    (3/3) Flavor: Adore it.

    Polish -
    (3/3) Quality: Looks fine.
    (2/2) *Main Challenge: Good.
(0/2) Subchallenges: Multicolored, and a sorcery.

    Total: 20/25
    Design -
(3/3) Appeal: Timmy likes burning heretics at the stake, Johnny likes discard interactions, Spike likes punishing people and denying them their finishers.
(2.5/3) Elegance: A lot of steps, but an elegant process.

    Development -
(3/3) Viability: Color good, rarity good.
(2.5/3) Balance: The version of this in two-player, seems... quite strong. But slow. In multiplayer it'll either put the hurt on someone who's going to mess up everyone else's day, or just spread the hate around equally, so.

    Creativity -
(2/3) Uniqueness: Bottomless Pit variant, with politics. I dig it.
(3/3) Flavor: Simple. Resonant. Perfect. Return to The Dark era Terisiare Commander? trololololol

    Polish -
    (3/3) Quality: Seems fine.
    (2/2) *Main Challenge: Good.
    (2/2) Subchallenges: Monocolor enchantment.

    Total: 23/25
    Design -
(3/3) Appeal: Timmy, Johnny, and Spike all find something to like in a beater that can be removal and/or a clock and/or impulse draw your deck.
(2.5/3) Elegance: Wordy by necessity but not inelegant.

    Development -
(3/3) Viability: Very red and very rare.
(3/3) Balance: Strong stuff, but low toughness for its cost - Lightning Bolt range, in fact.

    Creativity -
(2/3) Uniqueness: Obviously some precedent, but a unique combination.
    (3/3) Flavor: Good stuff.

    Polish -
(2/3) Quality: D in dilemma isn't capitalized. "Opponent" should be "player".
    (2/2) *Main Challenge: Good.
    (2/2) Subchallenges: Monocolor creature.

    Total: 22.5/25
    Design -
(2/3) Appeal: Timmy and Johnny both like the scale of the effect. Spike's not really into it; equalizing wheels just aren't competitive when you have to pay a bunch of mana into them.
(3/3) Elegance: Nicely elegant, especially for a join forces card.

    Development -
(3/3) Viability: Color and rarity are right.
(3/3) Balance: More than fair. Could probably even stand to cost less.

    Creativity -
(1/3) Uniqueness: Minds Aglow, but a wheel.
(3/3) Flavor: This card stands out in flavor terms. The flavor text is nonsense words but excels in atmosphere.

    Polish -
    (2.5/3) Quality: Missing a period.
    (2/2) *Main Challenge: Good.
    (1/2) Subchallenges: Monocolor sorcery.

    1. I actually ran right over a player at fnm for this reason. He recently started playing a UR control deck, probably not the guild pack as it didn't look like it. I quickly realized I could get him to just counter the first spell I played each turn regardless of what it was. so just jammed the one I didn't care about and won with a reveler both games because he was too trigger happy countering my first spell. Basically, don't be that guy and learn to know what you care about and don't.
This might be more advanced/psychological/too much gamesmanship to start with, but in face-to-face Magic everyone has tells. Learning to spot your opponents' and recognize and suppress your own is a great thing to do, especially in multiplayer/political games.

Don't forget Stampeding Serow. Those Saviors of Kamigawa cards have to get dusted off and played somehow.
I knew the Wildebeests had been functionally reprinted. Right down to the type line, even.

Whenever you tap a creature you control to pay a cost, put a +1/+1 counter on that creature. The next time that creature attacks, remove that +1/+1 counter from it at end of turn.

    The DCC: December 9th, 2018

    Welcome to the DCC!
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post in the DCC Discussion Thread.

    How To Play

How does this card-making game work? It's simple! Whenever your card receives a vote in the day's poll, you receive [1] point for the month. If your card ends up with the most votes for that day, you will receive [2] additional points for the month. In the event of a tie, each person who tied receives [1] additional point. At the end of each month, the person with the most points on the scoreboard wins that month, then the scoreboard is cleared for the next month. You can participate in as many or as few days as you want in any month.

    Rules

    • Each day you may post any card you want. On the next day all of the posted cards will be put into a poll the thread as long as your card didn't get disqualified - see the next point for more details. If you post more than one card in a DCC thread, only the first card you post will be taken.
    • When you vote, you need to make exactly two votes for two different people. Vote for the cards that are listed in the first post, not other cards being posted in the thread. If you notice that you've only voted for one person, include your second vote in a post, even if you're not submitting a card.
    • If you want to change your vote for any reason, post that change in the day's thread (you can include it with your card if you want). Changed votes in the discussion thread will be ignored.
    • Voting for only one person, for three or more people, or for yourself will earn you an asterisk by your name in the monthly leaderboard. So will failing to vote if you've posted a card. (We're not going to do anything about people who don't vote or post cards; that would be kind of silly.) This indicates that you're on probation for the next 21 days. If you're on probation and you make another improper vote, your card will be disqualified. Repeated disqualification is grounds for warnings and/or infractions for not following the game rules, so please don't do it.
    • Voting for everything in the poll will be grounds for a lifetime ban from the DCC. Don't do it. It just wastes the thread creators' time.
    • If you wish to post a render, please use the hyperlink option when posting your card and make the card name the image link. Renders are usually large enough to clog up the list, so submit a text-formed card and (optionally) a link in the name to the render.
    • This thread is just for your card submission. Take your questions/comments to our discussion thread. If it's a question, comment, or complaint about probation, PM me instead and I'll explain it.
    • Anyone can post the new thread for the day. When you post it, make sure that:
      • You have a poll in the thread;
      • You include everyone's cards (excluding cards that have been disqualified);
      • The poll is marked as public and multiple choice with a one-day time limit; and
      • You update the leaderboard with the previous day's scores.
(An easy way to post the new thread is to hit the multiquote button on every post in the previous day's thread, then click Post Reply. Select everything in this post, copy it, and then paste it into the first post for a new thread. You'll have to clean up a few small things, like quote tags around the opening post and the previous day's cards.)

Destroy target artifact or enchantment. Draw two cards, then discard two cards. Add X mana in any combination of R and/or G, where X is the number of artifact, enchantment, and land cards put into graveyards from anywhere this turn.

The Custom Card Random Card of the Day for 12/8/18 is Serra Inquisitors.

I don't want to go back to the days of really bad creatures and large amounts of color hosing. Tends to just make for linear gameplay.

What about the inverse? Would probably be overly silly.

    City of Grass
    Land (R)
Whenever City of Grass becomes tapped, you gain 1 life.
    1: Tap City of Grass.

What's the dumbest thing that could be done with this?

It's quite astonishing, though, how many Homelands cards have been reprinted at least once. To bad, the basic lands have not been printed in that set, that could have made the card quite useful. But instead, we only get a bunch of bad multilands.
Unfortunately that wouldn't have made the card any better; the Oracle text specifies "originally printed." If only such a card existed in Alpha, I suppose.
