Browsing the rest of The Rumor Mill, I found this gem:
From here.
This image is FULL of flavor that screams "Medomai the Ageless".
If Medomai is a 3/4 like the speculations state, he's totally getting a spot in my U/W control deck.
Quote from Planeswalker"s Guide to Theros, Part 3 »
A phoenix lays just one egg during its centuries-long life, at the end of which it plunges itself into the volcano near which it lives. On that day, the egg hatches and a new phoenix is born.
This biology is sketchy. If this is true, then presumably all phoenixes are hermaphroditic or female; otherwise, either phoenixes that are exclusively male would have to also lay eggs, or the population would fall significantly (if the genders are equally represented, by as high as half) with each generation. Furthermore, it is impossible for the phoenix population to grow, and whenever a phoenix dies before she lays her egg, the total planar population of phoenixes will have permanently fallen by one.
Oh cool- a Bull-type Gorgon!
I was wondering if we would see those.
There's no mention of a bull-type gorgon in that article, nor does any of that art depict a bull-type gorgon. The only gorgon depicted in the art is the woman-type gorgon, and the only bulls depicted in the art are minotaurs and possibly the archon's mount and the catoblepas, if one considers them to be strange mutated bull variants.
Quote from Planeswalker"s Guide to Theros, Part 3 »
A harpy is a vicious creature with the head of a woman and the wings and legs of a vulture.
The Siren looks...how I imagined the Harpies looking for the most part. Instead we get bird-monster faced Harpies, even though the Guide says they have the body of a bird and face of a woman. Someone missed the memo I guess?
Yeah, I was bothered by that, too. The article flat-out states that harpies have the head of a woman---and then shows a picture of a harpy that clearly does not have the head of a woman, while showing a picture of a siren that looks more like the description of the harpy than the actual picture of the harpy.
Don't remember seing a thread for this, but I remember reading the spoiler for the black god. It seems like Heloid is going to be making creatures and Erebos is going to killing them.
Don't remember seeing a thread for this, but I remember reading about fakers. It seems MTGSalvation is a good source for real spoilers, but posters like Penned are going to make up some fake ones and hope people are gullible enough to believe them.
so i was just browsing the internet again and i stumbled upon this gem in the google search, it looks to be legit, was hoping someone could find how its fake if it is.
Perhaps you should have browsed and searched your way to this thread
There has never been a land that enters the battlefield untapped unconditionally and taps for two colors unconditionally. That would be strictly better than a basic land
I thought you agreed with Troll's assessment that it's in the block but not Theros? Eithwary, I'm not arguing we'll have the card back in Standard and affordable in Modern in no time.
No, the mods never said Thoughtseize wasn't in Theros.
Why the heck do people spend so much time to make fakes? It isnt like anyone really falls for it.
On the contrary, very sadly, TONS OF PEOPLE fall for fakes. For example, read through the thread for "Hypatia of the Pegasus" wherein multiple posters ignore obvious evidence that the card is fake to make contorted arguments that the card is real.
Glimmerpoint Stag is from Scars of Mirrodin, an artifact set and thus extremely backloaded (white cards get pushed forward alphabetically with respect to collector numbers) in a way Theros is not.
Only 8 white cards for A-F which is fairly reasonable depending on the naming scheme for this set.
No it's not.
Magic 2014 has 249 cards like Theros. The first H card, Hive Stirrings, is #21.
Magic 2013 has 249 cards like Theros. The first H card, Healer of the Pride, is #19.
Magic 2012 has 249 cards like Theros. The first H card, Honor of the Pure, is #23.
Magic 2011 has 249 cards like Theros. The first H card, Holy Strength, is #16.
Magic 2010 has 249 cards like Theros. The first H card, Harm's Way, is #14, and that card's second letter is "a", so its near the front possible range of H's and part of a more backloaded distribution than usual.
By all means, please share your "terrific insight" with us.
That sphinx isn't Medomai. We already have art labeled as Medomai from http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=533389:

Check the "[Compiled] Upcoming Promo Information" thread first; it's stickied for good reason:

Cuz, you know, fake Magic cards eventually turn into real ones if you post them to MTGSalvation weekly!
Actually there have been ten. Here are all of them.

No mod edit ever said "no way Thoughtseize is back."
What the mod edit said was "Thoughtseize is not in Born of the Gods." Big difference, and consistent with Thoughtseize being in Theros.
Island is just as likely as Mountain.
