I quit during Onslaught block and resumed playing in Zendikar, but have a very keen interest in knowing about Mirrodin + the adventures of Glissa and friends. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
With respect. I just want to ask... how competitive are the games that the deck user is attending? Are all competitors there newbies? The deck almost has the power level of a precon. For fun games that deck would work.. but as Rezzahan said take out Kozilek because he cannot be cast without any colorless mana.
2 Collective Brutality
1 Pulse of Murasa
1 Creeping Corrosion
1 Putrefy
1 Unravel the Aether
1 Deglamer
1 Golgari Charm
1 Reclamation Sage
1 Pithing Needle
1 Tormod's Crypt
1 Relic of Progenitus
1 Grafdigger's Cage
1 Sword of Light and Shadow
1 Spellskite
The additional removals helped improve the previously unwinnable Elves match up. Brutality kills an elf and discards the Coco in their hand. Golgari Charm can result in a 3 for 1. Putrefy kills any elf. And lastly, I've added a Tasigur on the main. Well, there's the very little danger that he can be drawn with Bob... but the danger is small because there's only one Tasigur and only one Bob in the deck.. and bob often dies to something as soon as he lands on the table.
Nicely written article. I like the Spirits deck and the meta share information.
Hmm, but why is Dredge in there? I think it's not really underrated...
I sort of do that... saving the cash until a good deal on something I really want comes up. For example, have been wanting a playset of Abrupt Decay, but not able to afford them last year. This year, I saw someone selling them at 3.75$ each each - bought them without a second thought.
Treetop Village may seem weak and slows down our manabase. But I do recommend having at least one or two in there. The true value of the manland comes against decks that have board wipes. After they wrath / damnation / anger your creatures.. you have a chance of 3 damage swing with the treetop, possibly more if you pump it up with rancor or vines. And if they have a targeted removal for the treetop, then that's one less removal for your other creatures.
I guess there's no harm to buy 1 Pharika from SCG. Will test the card if it's good enough when it arrives.
Already have 3 Scavenging Ooze and 4 Dryad in the main for the graveyard and snapcaster decks that roam my area. But I do plan to also try the god against decks that have board wipes.
Have recently added two more fetch to the list.. now have 12 black sources in the main. As for the basic swamp, I'll have to do plenty of testing for that first.. possibly adding the swamp as land number 23. Well, there is one deck that has Blood Moon sideboard in my meta.. a mono red Goblins player.. though he hasn't used the blood moon yet against my deck.
4 Avatar of the Resolute
4 StrangleRoot Geist
1 Dark Confidant
1 Ulvenwald Tracker
2 Dungrove Elder
4 Dryad Millitant
3 Scavenging Ooze
4 Abrupt Decay
2 Dismember
2 Vines of Vastwood
2 Basilisk Collar
1 Sword of Fire and Ice
4 Verdant Catacombs
4 Wooded Foothills
1 Windswept Heath
2 Overgrown Tomb
1 Hissing Quagmire
1 Treeetop Village
1 Oran-Rief, The Vastwood
8 Forest
That's some complicated math indeed.
But I appreciate the help on the mana. All the splash cards... 4 Decays and 1 bob are 2 mana. I guess it's needed to add 2 or 3 more fetch lands to make the manabase more consistent?
Thanks. Tasigur seems useful. Will try to test him as a one-of in the sideboard if I could get a copy.
Oh, and will also remember Putrefy. I guess it could also kill manlands because of the instant speed.
EDIT: 1 Tasigur and 1 Golgari Charm added to my SCG shopping cart
Eldrazi decks don't always have the mythical turn 2 Thought-Knot Seer - if they always did, then WoTC would have made another ban. One thing you can do is add Narnam Renegades to your list, so that you would have something else to rely on in addition to the Dismemeber. Even a narnam with 1 power will trade with a TKS. Eldrazi and Taxes have plenty of removal / creature disruption, so Dungrove Elder would be useful against them... can grow bigger than TKS and Reality Smasher.. elder can grow fast against a white deck because they will path to exile your other creatures.
Already content with the main deck. Only need sideaboard card suggestions.

Now, my question is... can people mention good black sideboard cards that can be used against the current tier 1 and tier 2 decks? Please only suggest cards with one B mana in the casting cost.. because the manabase can't handle anything with double black. Thanks.
