I quit during Onslaught block and resumed playing in Zendikar, but have a very keen interest in knowing about Mirrodin + the adventures of Glissa and friends. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
My mistake.. it's not satire at all. Took a peek at the Lantern thread. It's a strategy recently written by someone there. https://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/tier-2-modern/221769-lantern-control?comment=9125
Anyway, I still think it's not a good strategy... it's too tiring to do over and over in a large event. Would probably work in very small FNM's, and even there I feel it's not worth the effort... better to just play normally and have fun than do something like this.
Would Lantern people actually do this sort of thing... I mean, willing to suffer great mental exhaustion... assuming it has to be done with almost all opponents. - just to win a few packs at FNM?
Sell them... if you don't have any plans to use them in any of your decks.. sell them. That's what I recently did with all my unused expensive cards that I feel have maxed out on prices.. Mox Opal, Scalding Tarn, Azusa, Ravager.. and many others. You will end up with money to buy what you want / need for future deck building.
I actually print screen the answers almost everytime I ask here. Then print it on short bond paper - and compile them together. Always brought when I go to FNM. My friends always believe things said here on Salvation card rulings area.

1. If moon is in play, and I put a Stomping Ground into the battlefield. Do I still have pay 2 life for the Stomping ground to enter the battlefield untapped?
2. Moon is in play, can the opponent destroy my Stomping Ground with a Fulminator Mage? Is the Stomping Ground still considered a non-basic land?
3. One of my Stomping ground is enchanted by spreading seas. I cast a Blood Moon. Would the stomping ground enchanted by the seas become a mountain again, no longer an island?

If you are using the 21-22 land build of Stompy.. then 3 mana should be ok. Well, you can test it as a one-of to start. Another use I have found for it is that it can help bring back a creature, so that Rhonas can attack / block.
I suggest you try Pulse of Murasa as well for the lifegain. Getting back a creature helps, and could win the game in certain situations... for example.. get back the leatherback baloth that the Burn player worked hard to kill. I stopped using feed the clans after testing pulse. Even if they skullcrack it, you still get a guy back from the yard.
Have to agree with the Beast Within comment. Also have 2 in the main, it's an answer to many things. Beast Within a Goyf, Tasigur, Angler, Rhino.. to make it smaller. A 3/3 beast is often less dangerous than a planeswalker, beast my own land for a surprise blocker / another body to end the game with. Well,, and I do admit that there are situations where I use it on opponent's land - and I take a few hits from the 3/3 afterwards.. but that's just part of the risks with such a versatile card.
As for Tireless Tracker... card is just amazing. It looks pretty harmless, but it can help win games.
Hmm, so goyf is slowly trying to climb. Obviously affected by the BBE unban... from 50-55 dollar low at SCG, the M17 version is now going 60 again. However, with another Masters set about to be spoiled... I'm really hesitant to buy anything expensive right now. For example, I sold an azusa for 50 dollars to someone, just a few weeks before Master 25 started to get spoiled - did not talk to the azusa buyer on facebook again. **
Absolute Grace as sideboard against GDS decks? ^__^
They printed the Kavu several times, even gave it new art... but never in core set. And sadly, they gave us Magnivore in a core set instead of the Terravore. I think Terravore isn't really overpowered for Modern, it's vulnerable to many of the popular removal and a relic of progenitus cleaning up both yards will kill it.
I prefer tuck effects like Deglamer.. because Lantern decks sometimes use Welding Jar to regenerate their Ensnaring Bridge.. and there are also those who recur bridge with Academy ruins - it's really annoying once they get that kind of thing going, deglamer helps get out of that situation.
Hmm, mtg can be addicting sometimes... the wallet just screams in terror.
Hard to believe that CB's are over 20 dollars now. They were only 6 dollars apiece last Christmas. It's a stroke of luck that I put funds into buying 2 of them during the holidays.
