Not really very good... sacrificing a permanent is a high price to pay. Her - 3 shoots out Abrupt Decays...
To reach her ultimate I must have sacrificed a lot of cards already...

I will just stick with pirate vraska.

Looking more and more like Kerrigan... Nice card, just not sure if she's a 4-of in a deck.

    Good observation. Smile

I just made Top 8 at a PPTQ in Germany (55 Players) with a version close to this (I can list up the Matches and my experiences individually if you are interested). The deck feels great and is still very underrated or even unknown.

Welcome to the thread, and congrats on the good finish. Smile

The single dissenter's deliverance looks neat.
You did not run into mana problems with 20 lands?

It's a Hunted Wumpus without the drawback of the wumpus, and comes with automatic spell pierce on the first removal pointed at it.

power creep is just too real...

None of my decks would use it right now, but would still try to get a playset. Smile

Hmm, Nullhide Ferox is a Hunted Wumpus without the drawback of the wumpus, and comes with automatic spell pierce on the first removal pointed at it.

Looks interesting... but 4 cmc is probably too high for our deck.

The only reason I don't want to use 4 trophy is because Meddling Mage is still a thing. But would certainly run two in the main.

Have a feeling the two Tron players in our FNM would switch to using more Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger because it cannot be removed by trophy.

If only it costed just one less... I would be testing it in Modern.

Anyway, still a good card. And amazing art.

the silver lining though is that GB getting such a nice card bodes well for everyone else. if they arent afraid to throw that much power into a card, then maybe we could see a new counterspell or vindicate variant in the near future.

as i mentioned earlier assassin's trophy just reeks of play designs influence.
Didn't Maro say recently that they considered putting Counterspell in a recent set? I feel like they want to put Counterspell into Modern, but don't really want to deal with it in Standard, so it'll probably be one of the first cards we get whenever they finally do a product that's Modern legal but not Standard legal.

tbh i wouldnt be surprised if that was just lip service to get people to stop asking about it. counterspell may or may not come to modern one day, but really its whatever.

my point was more that assassin's trophy is a pure good stuff card. it isnt some enabler or card that scales out of control like treasure cruise. its power is front and center. meaning the likelihood of it being some mistake that slipped through the cracks is close to zero.

so its either an isolated incident, where they are designing standard as usual (ie poorly) with a 2 mana vindicate randomly thrown in; or they are moving in a different direction.

    It really is a 'whatever'.

I'm not convinced Counterspell would be the business right now. What gets cut? 1-3 Logic Knot? Bad cards like Mana Leak? Negate?

Looking at MTGGoldfish thats what UW is playing, 1 of each. So what? Its not even Top 50 in Legacy, or Vintage. You know what is? Sorcerous Spyglass. Abrade see's more play in Legacy, than Counterspell!

Nah. People cannot stomach having their stuff countered, so we have not seen it in what, 15+ years? Hilarious. 'It rates poorly in marketing' Weird

People weep when they see Cryptic getting abused, at 4 Mana. FOUR. God help us when its cast for 6 with Snaps, my opponents flip their ***** at how 'busted' a card it is.

    SIX MANA SHOULD BE BUSTED.

Its so aggravating, having to endure the tears of people who could just as easily cast a Thoughtseize, but instead want to be allowed to just cast creatures on curve without having to endure the dreaded 'counter'.

    Drives me absolutely nuts.

Laughed when seeing the "six mana should be busted" part. haha And I say that as a joke ok. Wink

I have been on the receiving end of Cyptic Command several times, because one of my friends has it in his deck. I think nothing is wrong with the card. It's a good learning experience at that time to test how our decks worked in tight situations.

It's like WoTC printed money with Assassin's Trophy. I'm obviously not buying the 30$ tag....

Wondering how long before it drops below 10$?

Price of goyf still has not increased at SCG. It's their weekly sale after all.

Although after their sale ends.. it would probably start climbing.

    - Biomancy itself was never the problem, on the contrary, it was what made the old Simic bearable to the public: The guild is and was the main producer of medicines, prostheses as well as conveniently cultivated animals and plants. And the new Simic purposefully and publicly let their Prime Speaker declare the Fathom Edict, which states clearly that they won't dabble into the same areas as Momir Vigs Simic anymore. In addition to the reforestation projects and the opening of at least one of the sinkholes to the public, this brought in a lot of good publicity for them. Again, I don't see why this is so hard to believe.

All these talk about Ravnica lore is interesting. Smile

Looks like the Simic can be trusted now, because their new guildmaster Zegana is not evil like Momir Vig. Guild leadership change, policies changed with it.

If you want a historic example, see Tarmogoyf. His price decline even when Jund was still around was noteworthy as each subsequent printing took the price down further and further. That was with a limited release set priced at 240 msrp. Shocklands may have more demand, but this is not just a supplementary reprinting of the card: this is the third time it is entering standard. On top of which, there are a ton of RTR boxes still floating around that are unopened as well.

Goyf is even on sale right now at SCG. Smile

Although I have a feeling his price will rise again if the newly spoiled Assasin's Trophy gives BGx decks more success in Modern.

hahahaha, what the hell that card is ridiculous! literally never a dead card.

people wanted more jund in the format. well you are gonna get it.

brb sleeving up my full set of Spell Snares

edit: RIP tron players. just cant catch a break.

    Makes BGx great again! ^__^

Although there are some decks I don't want to use this against... scary to give Burn decks extra untapped land. Another downside is it helps an opponent who is short on mana.

Assassin's trophy = BGx answer to everything in path to exile form. Suddenly BGx has a maindeckable answer to tron.

Developers decide to make BGx great again.

Tron is not so scary anymore. ^___^

I just hope it won't be a 30 dollar card....

I salute the developers of the set... just when I thought there are no more cards needed to buy... they create assassin's trophy! Take this Karn and Ugin.

    Need two playsets of this...

First of all, thanks for contributing here. Nah, my playtest partners are all spikes, except for Karen who is new to the game. The more thoughts added the better, because who knows.. there might be some things we're doing wrong. And I do agree about the playtesting... the Granite Grips in red were only found to be strong during actual testing.. they seemed fine in theory.

About the blue... my friend Earl could pilot it and win during our testings... but when I use it, the deck often lose. Guess I'm just not really good at piloting mono U... hehe . Ok, will listen to your suggestion.. one more merfolk looter in. Smile The problem with temporal adept is that R, W, G are very aggressive with weenie type strategy in the early game... keeping UUU open to bounce one attacking goblin, elf, or soldier does not stop the other attackers from dealing damage. However, the counterspells were increased... so will convince my playtest partners that we give adept another try. "Dig through time" is the nickname they gave to Ancestral Memories, and they also joke that Elspeth started off as a Knight Errant. XD
About black... Revenant is usually a 5/5, it was actually intended to be a second Nightmare.. but someone complained he feels black is often in the defensive to hold off attackers, so someone at 5 cmc is better than another 6 cmc threat. The deck is often put into the defensive, because red white and green like to finish the game quickly .. have a friend who shouts happily "there you go!" when casting might of oaks. You are the third person to suggest one more gravedigger... ok, I'll cave in to that, just have to think of what to replace. ^___^ Hmm, what to replace with Abyssal Specter? Yeah, 2 corrupt are needed... in actual games, the hp of this black deck decrease really fast when playing against the red, white, and green.

About Infernal Contract, Karen likes that spell a lot... however, two were found out to be broken in this meta.. when the deck is used by someone who is not a newbie to mtg. Limited to one.

Oh, about 2 weeks from now. Friends are coming over again. Will test the changes.
