    hi, and welcome to the thread. Always nice to see a new person here.

    would be helpful if you post your actual deck here, so people could more easily give suggestions.

    anyway, I checked the link, and that article has a guide for fighting Splinter Twin.. that article is quite outdated. If you have time, please take a look at the primer at the first page of this thread. It's updated with info from Stephan and Starstorm - they are the posters in this thread who actively played this deck in tournaments last year. Their deck lists are included in the primer. Smile

    welcome back to the thread.

    @everyone

    sorry I've disappeared for awhile. My Windows 10 pc was a victim of srttrailerror.txt... cannot boot for days, and took awhile before I could restore things again. I'll catch up reading posts and updating the primer in the next few days.

    I hope everyone is doing fine. Smile

    congrats on the good results Gerant. Smile

    hmm, so Professor of Symbology.. is actually good. This looks like the birth of a new variant of the deck. Would you like me to add Professor of Symbology to card choices section in the primer, or do you need to test it further?

    @coffeeortea

    that's a lot of grinding you did. nice work.

    if you like, I can put your Ranger build as another sample deck list in the primer. You will be credited of course. So we would have another variant of Emeria there.

    quite informative. Info appreciated.

    if have time, and can mention how you side boarded. Those things you said could actually be added to the primer sideboard guide section. So we would have fresh data on how to fight Hammer Time, and Hell's kitchen decks. Smile

    Starstorm fnm report added to tournament reports.

    nice to see your build doing well. That Hammer Time deck looks dangerous with instant speed, but you did manage to beat it. Smile

    how does the Hell's Kitchen deck work? Is their combo fast to happen, and how do we prevent it? Info would be appreciated, thanks.

    The 8/26/21 random card of the day is Kor Cartographer. If you have any comments, combos or a decklist involving this card, feel free to share.

    it's weak for modern and other stronger formats, but I do remember it was a useful card during it's time at Standard. The land fetching ensured that there would a be a Baneslayer Angel on turn 5, assuming the player has the angel on hand. It also allowed faster build up of plains for Emeria, the Sky Ruin.

    sorry to hear about the fnm.

    card advantage from 8 thoughtcast effects do add a lot of resilience to Affinity. And I used to be a legacy affinity player, the Etched Champion.. I bring three of them in against removal heavy decks, it's hard to get rid of if the opponent does not have board wipes or sac effect. If you expect to face a lot more affinity.. I suggest adding one Stony Silence to the sideboard. The stony would prevent the indestructible artifact lands from producing mana, and prevent cranial plating from being equipped, and make clue tokens unusable.. ---- however, It would cause batterskull and kaldra cannot be equipped to our other creatures.. but I still believe it would have a more negative affect on the affinity player, more than it has a negative effect on us.
