    How To Play
Spellcraft MWS Spoiler (Use "SC1" for the Edition Key): link
    Spellcraft Netdraft Patch: link

    Installing Netdraft and MWS: link

Installing a Netdraft Patch: drag SC1.nd into the same folder as Netdraft.exe
    Installing a MWS Spoiler:
Open Magic Workstation Deck Editor, making sure that you have the Master Base side of the screen highlighted. If the deck half is selected (either because it was like that when you started the program or you clicked somewhere in that half of the screen), you will get an error saying "Current grid must be MASTER-like type". Go to Tools>>Add/Analyze/Remove Sets, and select the 'Add New Edition' tab. Type New Phyrexia for the name of the set, NPH for the Edition Key, check the "Get Data From Spoiler" box, and point the program to wherever you saved the NPH.txt file. If it says that it added all the cards successfully, click OK and then press CTRL + S, and you should be set. If don't press Ctrl + S, the masterbase won't be saved, and the cards will disappear when you exit and MWSPlay will give you an error when you try to open a deck with NPH cards in it.

I hang out in #draft4you on irc.solidirc.com, and will be hosting drafts daily between about 12-3pm UTC. You can also use that channel to contact me if you like communicating through chat more than discussion board. I want to get as much play out of these cards as we can.

    Set Design
The idea behind the set is that everyone makes it. Whether you want to add one or two cards, or a whole block of 50 cards, you're free to come and go as you want. Here's the original thread. It was open to anyone who wanted to add cards, and the only rules were that you keep the rarity/color numbers the same, and that you don't post more than 50 cards total. Some people posted a couple cards and then disappeared. Others posted pretty regularly over the course of the whole thread and used up all 50 of their cards. When we got about 200 cards, I put them together in a patch, and now we get to play with them. The idea is that we'll play with these cards for a while, and discuss what we liked and didn't like. Then once we all (or probably just me) get bored, I'll open Spellcraft II and we'll start over, submitting entirely new cards as well as maybe a few favorites from this patch.

    Flavor: Welcome To the Hubworld
Planeswalkers tend to have "territory", a collection of planes whose mana lines they use frequently and whose creatures and spells are of particular interest to them. Some planeswalkers--like the ones we see on cards--tend to stick to one "home world", but most connect with several. However, a few don't claim ownership of any planes. Travelling the outermost regions of the multiverse, these wizards seek out strange and impossible things, strange and impossible even by the standards of a wizard that travels between dimensions. It's these travellers that the set focuses on.

The plane that we design for is the one and only place that a "gypsy" planeswalker would visit twice, because it is the "local pub" of the multiverse. Planeswalkers come to compare journeys, sharing creatures and spells that they've discovered. They tell stories, compare each others' findings, and compete amongst themselves. We've seen Jace's Ingenuity and Garruk's Packleader before, and here we get to see the magic created by other greater mages. What does Isnad's Ingenuity look like? Or Cick's?

The plane is obviously a dangerous place even for planeswalkers: Magical brawls break out frequently when such powerful wizards are in such a small area. Dangerous monsters are created when spells combine in unexpected ways.

On this visit, we see the spells and creatures brought from several different planes and locales. Canyon creatures that have all adapted two modes of fighting: one for inside the canyon and one for outside. Spirits that create physical forms for themselves out of the elements. Various wildlife and denizens of a plane called Lodir.

In addition to the creatures and magic brought here or created by Drifters, we get to meet the Drifters themselves and their personal toolbox spells. Tanime, and Holgren, mages that make their livings trading and bartering with other visiters to the Hubworld. Anoron, a self-proclaimed sheriff and peacekeeper of the world. Ara, Keht, and Flletchen, more planes-crawlers than walkers, they represent the many weaker wizards that have nonetheless discovered the spark and seek to make their mark.

Finally, we have the denizens of the plane itself. Mana Merchants offer access to any of the five colors to anyone willing to pay. Gnomes scurry about to serve their respective masters. Old discarded weaponry lies around from duels past and is yours for the taking if you want to put in the effort to repair them.

One attempt to solve Fling/Stoutarm shenanigans:

    Armor Blades 1R
    Instant
Target creature gets +X/-X, where X is one less than its toughness.

Success! I'll post a patch in a new thread soon.

The netdraft script is incredibly finicky, here's a few things that screwed it up:

-Something other than U, B, R, G, W, Art, Lnd, or Gld (case sensitive) on the "card color" line.
-Something other than R, U, C, or MR (case sensitive) on the "card rarity" line.
-not having a space after a colon (i.e "Card Rarity:R" doesn't work, but "Card Rarity: R" does)
    - having a space after the rarity or color line (i.e. "Card Rarity: R " doesn't work, but "Card Rarity: R" does)

I'm going to be really strict about getting the spoilers correct next time, because this was really annoying to have to spend this much time fiddling with the spoiler to make sure all the cards work, and even worse that we had to wait this long.

It's really hard to get the colors right on gold cards, and I usually spend these threads correcting the poster's color pie choices. These all seem great though, with abilities that couldn't be monocolored, and don't belong on a different part of the pie. I especially like the elegance of Turri Roc. Simple, yet effective.

I'm not sure about the mythic though. none of those abilities seem red or blue to me. Even the carddraw doesn't need blue when associated with equipment.

Tranquilo, the cards we have already are all we'll play with this time through. I'm not allowing any more to be added because putting the set together is only half of this project, and we need to keep moving forward.

The MWS patch that I have in the OP doesn't convert correctly to netdraft, and I have to figure out why. You can help with that if you want. This is the Perl script I'm using, and these are the two commands you type into your command prompt to start the script:

cd C:\Magic\Spellcraft (replace with the location of the text spoiler)

perl mws2nd.pl -i input.txt -o output.nd -m M -n 2 (replace input with the name of the text spoiler, replace output with the name you want the netdraft patch to have)

I had to install a Perl framework or something to make the script work, so I don't know if this is something just anyone can try.

When you restrict it to small mana costs, it becomes more white.

    Soldier's Call 2W
    Sorcery
Search your library for a creature card with converted mana cost 2 or less and put it into play.

Bonus white points if it's an instant.

Tranquilo, a page ago four of my cards didn't have rarities. how did you count them? Also, did you see that Canabiest found two cards in the set that are identical? Again, nobody's going to veto anybody else's cards, but I want to make sure that everyone knows what they're doing.

I think the counts are off on some of these because the math doesn't add up correctly. Let's just throw one more blue mythic, two green rares, and a green uncommon in and then I'll start the patch. the fact that black has two more uncommons than any other color means that ithas a 5% chance of appearing more often than other colors, but unless someone wants to remove one of the ones they submitted earlier, I don't think it's worth the effort of making eight new cards to balance things out. Any objections?

I don't know about type, but raritywise we just need to balance out what we have so far, another couple green rares and uncommons, one more mythic for blue and black, maybe even another rare for black and red.

Rest for the Weary is a better analog for your point, gaining and costing close to half what Explosion does. It's one of the lowest picks in the entire set. Insane amounts of lifegain like that aren't as powerful as they look because if you're losing, they don't do anything to stop your opponent's threats. I'd much rather have any of the other rares posted so far in my deck than the Explosion, but it does get the shocked reaction I was going for, so I'm not going to change it.

Lifeforce Explosion is definitely above the power level that Wizards prints, but straightup lifegain spells that see print have always been absolute crap(with the rare exception of when you have a serra ascendant in your deck). I doubt it'll be a top pick.
