good points. I cant believe I forgot Price of Glory either nice add. I put that in in place of acidic soil. and stone rain just isnt as good as other land destruction cards really thats why its not there. as for warhammer and basilisk collar I see little point to those. The lifelink helps i guess but pumping or adding deathtouch is pointless. just not good enough to deserve a spot.
Damping Engine is in for the cases where you cant seem to destroy them fast enough. It slows them down enough for you to catch up.
I noticed no one had made a Zo-Zu deck so I built one. It will generate a lot of hate because it is land destruction based and very annoying. Any suggestions are welcome.
Honestly with a general like Maralen the primary objective should be to combo out for the win as fast as possible. Since she gives everyone the option to dig for their critical combo pieces and puts the game on a timer having a fast game ending combo is key to her or if not that then a combo killing/lockdown strategy.
I would have to agree with the above. If I hear someone whining all the time I get pretty tired of hearing it and usually just stop paying attention and ultimately playing games with them.
I hear people whine all day the last thing I want is to hear it on my free time.
Honestly ive never seen any of the eldrazi as anything more than a distraction.
About the worst thing thats ever happened for me is somone dropping an emrakul against my g/w Tolsimir deck. I had enough out (Thunderstaff, Orim's Prayer, Divine Presence, Hedron-Field Purists)_ that I completely neutralized the 15 damage. The annihilator was a bit annoying but I had tons of lands out and lasted 4 swings before I finally top decked a o-ring and sunk his battleship.
Smoldering Crater, Forgotten Cave and Blasted Landscape all should go in. They are just simple cycle lands but anything cycling really speeds up your game. If its unneeded you can always ditch it for a cheap draw. While on the subject cards like Lay Waste, Volcanic Submersion, Solar Blast and Starstorm all would fit well with the deck. providing useful hate and added draw power as an option.
Another great option for draw power (or a little hurtiness) is Browbeat Draw 3 or an opponent takes 5 damage for 3 mana. sounds better than a Carbonize to me.
Also great adds are Spellshock, Breath of Darigaaz, Chain of Plasma and Pyrostatic Pillar
Let them play all the spells they want itll start hurting really fast. Spellshock is a bombshell in multiplayer.
Another strong option is the pain land strategy. Zo-Zu the Punisher, Ankh of Mishra, Cosi's Ravager, Manabarbs, Price of Glory, Tectonic Instability
Its a complete package and if you can manage to throw most of that on the table on top of a spellshock itll really make anyone think twice about even trying to play a spell. Its funny watching the reactions of someone trying to figure out how to play anything in their hand without devastating themselves in the process.
Another very useful option for artifact hate would be Viashino Heretic. Repeatable hate is always nice or you could go with Builders' Bane or even better Furnace Dragon for mass hate. The funniest thing you can do is throw in a Mycosynth Lattice then drop the dragon down. playing a free dragon to completely wipe the field is a pretty nutty play. Good luck having your opponents regrow from that mess.
Here is my list for Kangee. Its a little bit more durable and relies heavily on turning your things into enchantments. Your birds are intentionally expendable with the Soulcatchers aerie in play it just pumps what you have left.
ill have the list up here in a sec but it can be done you just need to be able to find a way to benefit from repetitive board wipes (which you can with soulcatchers' aerie). I will have it up on here tomorrow most likely.
lol we had the exact same idea man. Ive been digging on this same deck for a while now. Theres only a handful of card differences. Glad someone else is showing love to kangee and the birds.
One card I see constantly overlooked that is absolute dynamite in artifact decks is Krark Clan Ironworks. Sure you eat a ton of your own stuff but it really accelerates you into a faster eldrazi drop. Mindstone Could certainly use to be in here. mana accel and card draw are nice same goes for Prismatic Star. The star is often overlooked but its wording is very conducive. Play it for one you dont even have to use its ability you can sack it to the ironworks as long as it hits the graveyard you draw a card. very clever. I usually recur this thing a ton of times for card draw power in my decks. Works like a charm. best 1 mana drop in an artifact deck imo.
My biggest concern for this deck is the lack of combo options and a lack of recovery options.
UBW has a lot of options for cheap and your artifact selection needs an overhaul
first we will talk recovery options Myr Retriever auto include Sanctum Gargoyle auto include Leonin Squire Auriok Slavagers auto include Hanna, Ship's Navigator Argivian Archaeologist Argivian Find Scrounge
These are your main recovery options most of which are very cheap. THe more stuff you can recur the better sharuum is usually use to dig out your big critical gear that you need.
Next we will talk artifact selection. For starters the life gain arties 9demons horn krakens eye etc) need to go. In its lace finding cheap one cost artifacts or 0 cost is ideal. I highly recommend:
THe reasoning behind this is simple: they are easy to recur with the Auriok Salvagers and they are cheap card draw if nothing else (though sunbeam spellbomb will save your ass when you recur 5 or 6 times and gain a bunch of life)
The Claws are just nice to have because you gain life and you can gain it off things your opponents are going to nuke anyways and it can sack itself for life even. fun.
other good cards to include are Blinkmoth Urn It gives you a crapload of mana for all your artifacts. Skullclamp obvious Cranial Plating massive creature pump equipment Paradise Mantle free to play 1 to equip produce any color mana? sounds good land fix is nice
artifact lands (darksteel Citadel, Seat of the synod, etc) more artifacts to be fuel for the urn or even better: Krark Clan Ironworks Devouring your artifacts for mana may sound crazy but its a fast way accelerate into your beaters or even better a combo.
As for combo options theres a lot of different combos to do in these colors. Im gonna rip a page out of my own book for this one though I have this in my Merieke Ri Berit deck. Krark Clan Ironworks Bronze Bombshell Endless Whispers
dont see it? you sac the bombshell to the ironworks endless whispers hands it to an opponent. Whenever the bombshell goes to an opponent he automatically blows up and deals 7 damage and endless whispers sends it to another opponent or you. Either way it doesnt matter he keeps getting sacrificed by you and he keeps blowing up on your opponents dealing infinite damage (and also gaining tons of mana which makes little difference at this point). Its an automatic kill no matter how many opponents youre up against if they cant stop it.
I would also highly recommend throwing in more tutors and a cheap way to do this is with transmute cards (they have their own abilities but you can pay the transmute to fish up a card of equal cost) Dimir House Guard Dimir Machinations Muddle the Mixture Drift of Phantasms
All are common cards and are useful in their own right but the tutor part makes them great.
Trinket Mage is a good tutor too
I think just about everything I listed except maybe the archaeologist and capt. sisay you can find in the common bin or the $1 rares Still for garbage cards they make a huge difference.
I would recommend Granulate and Furnace Dragon actually.
couple it with the darksteel forge and granulate is a lowball wrath and an armageddon all in onesided fun.
The Dragon is a panic putton. when everything is going against you having him around just hits the reset button and gives you time to rebuild if you have the lattice in play when he drops..
