This is my build for current Extended Madness, what do you guys think any suggestions are helpful.
That looks more like an odyssey block madness deck than an extended decklist.
People on these forums disagree a lot when it comes to this deck, but I will go ahead and say that Gifts Ungiven is a must for the deck. I recommend running 3 copies of Gifts ungiven. With gifts you can essentially run 1 Roar of the Wurm, 1or2 Wonder, Genesis and a few other toolbox things such as maybe Gigapede.
Oh yeah, and obsessive search just really isn't that good.
due to the popularity of the painlands and the shocklands compared to the tap-lands, 10th edition will certainly have good lands in it, be it painlands or shocklands.
to tell the truth, I'm more of a fan of the painlands than the ravnica duals.
I thought it was funny at my prerelease where some of the judges were going around asking people "Is it Chronic???!!??" to see if they opened any Izzet Chronarchs.
The synergy this card has with creature pumping (jitte) and also comes into play effects (eternal witness) can't be discounted.
it's a very narrow draw effect, but it has the potential to be broken, we'll just have to wait and see.
Actually I'm sure there are some great 'combo's that work with this already, we just need to find the optimal ones (no we aren't talking ball lightning).
I would hardly say that the painlands are becoming obsolete. Two color non-green decks run best using both the painlands and the duals, take R/W Boros Deck Wins for example.
Even with Watery Grave out, Underground Rivers are still in hot demand where I am.
I only just realised how good this card is with pump. say you remove two counters from your jitte to pump your 2/1 to a 6/5, then when it returns to play you only have to dicard one.
A bunch of the folks at the starcitygames boards have been swearing by Hapless Researcher for quite a while. I'm still running 4 careful studies though. I like the explosive starts that they provide.
Madness really does need a replacement for Waterfront Bouncer though. Alongside Circular Logic, the bouncer was a big part of the control in "Aggro/Control"
Unsummon or Echoing truth has been working alright for me as a replacement but the deck really needs something repeatable.
There have been none so far. I guess Troll Ascetic is probably the best possible scenario that we've had. A 3/3 for 2G certainly wouldn't be in the least bit unbelievable though, same goes for a 3/3 for 2GG with a mediocre ability.
A while ago I was using a Madness deck which ran Quiet Speculation and 3-4 copies of Wonder (cause you can't fetch it with speculation) it did quite well actually.
I've been running gifts in my Madness deck for some time, it allows me to run several one-ofs such as Moment's Peace, Gigapede, Genesis and Ravenous Baloth for use if I need them.
The Baloth has really got me out of some tight spots (especially recurring with genesis).
ok, heres a REALLY complicated idea for Momir Vig:
Momir Vig, Biomancer 4GGUU
Legendary Creature-Elf Biomancer GU : Target creature gains all activated abilities of another target creature until end of turn. (If any of the abilities use that creature's name, use the other creatures name instead.)
You may spend green and blue mana as though it were mana of any color to pay the activation cost of abilities of creatures you control.
4/5
It looks horrible on magic set editor. interesting though?
I guess something like that would be cool. Although it would have to be far cheaper to actually be playable. Eg. better than Quicksilver elemental (which didn't see play either)
I played a B/U/G Gifts ungiven deck for a while that would gifts for Kokusho, Zombify, Beacon of Unrest (vigor mortis) and Eternal Witness (recollect?)
It also had the ability to hardcast kokusho usually around turn four or five thanks to elder, birds etc. Also the ability to reanimate 2 kokushos consistantly can't be laughed at.
The deck also ran a number of other things to gifts for such as plow under, bribery, naturalise, dark banishing, keiga etc
I'm thinking of building a similar deck now post ravnica.
Also maybe a reanimator deck featuring kokusho and a sac outlet and possibly grave pact? (that card is underrated)
Ok I really don't get it. Ravager and co gets banned so apparently everyone can now play all those artifacts that they wanted to play but couldn't because of all the Ravager hate.
Well I don't know about you but I'm still going to be running Viridian Shamans and Oxidises because I'm going to expect to see tons of artifacts from all the people who think it's safe to run them now.

Phyrexian Arena is also super great

it won over Shared Triumph in the Selecting 9th Edition votes, so therefore it will be in 9th.
