Really nice Animate Dead haganbmj. It's certainly one of the cards I'm missing for my cube. Running CE one at the moment. I actually purchased an altered one from Yawg, but it never arrived

I do a lot of research into Hepatitis C medications as part of my job too. We're in a really weird period of time right now where there is a cure for hepatitis c, but the cure is EXTREMELY expensive at ~$90,000 for the whole procedure. Insurance companies typically won't cover any of it until you are at stage 3/4 with the liver damage/hepatitis, and in stage 4 is when you start developing cancer. So the options a lot of people have are 1) wait until it's extremely bad 2) do nothing, which isn't the worst as hepatitis c can lie dormant for years with no effect or 3) head to a country where the medicines are affordable at a fraction of the cost such as india where you can get the same entire procedure for $900. So I try to always do research into new ways or programs that help people pay for these medications, I try and "lobby" (i.e. I send whiny e-mails) to the big pharmaceutical reps I've reached out to, and I try to direct people who need the medicine but are getting no coverage for it to the programs or try to plant the medical tourism bug in their ear.

Otherwise I'm either spending time playing/watching/reading about magic or playing games like the criminally underrated Duck Game. Seriously, that ***** is ******* legit and pretty cheap too for an amazingly online multiplayer experience.

Yeah, I downloaded Duck Game from a recommendation on this thread a while back. Must have been from you? We play it pretty regularly, and yes, it is pretty great. I'm really glad they opened up the workshop so that you can download more maps.

Just received my gift. I got some awesome foils for my cube!

I also got some tokens, which weren't the ones I needed (needed the 0/1 plants from Worldwake for Avenger of Zendikar). It's okay though, the foils were easily enough to make my day

Season's Greetings to all cube forum members! Welcome to the 2015 Secret Santa thread. We have run a Secret Santa in the Cube Forum since the Christmas of 2011. I have participated in every one of them so far, and I figured I would take up the responsibility of running this year's Secret Santa.



FAQ

1. What's a Secret Santa?

A Secret Santa is where where the people who sign up give gifts anonymously to other members of the group. Each person who signs up will be given a random person to send a gift to, and will receive a gift from a random person in return. It's a nice way for everyone to get a gift, without having to spend lots of money.

2. Is this for me?

If you're a member of this esteemed Cube Forum, and you have a desire to connect with the community by giving (and receiving!) gifts, then this could very well be for you. We have had some issues in the past with people not sending gifts etc. so while we do not wish to be exclusionary, we do expect you to meet some criteria. Ideally, you are an active poster within the cube forum, and you have a cube, or are building a cube yourself. I reserve the right to deny entry into the Secret Santa if you are a very new member (i.e. no posts, or no posts in the cube forum). Please don't be offended!


3. Is this expensive? How do I know what to get?

Slow down there! That's two questions! We have found that a gift of around $15 in value (or more) is reasonable, as that can really make someone's day with a cube staple or two. Be as generous as you like, however!
As for the question of what to get, I will be asking people who sign up to send me a wishlist of cards that they want. Please make your wishlist as big as you can possibly make it, to give your Santa more options!

4. Do I have to give cards?

Nope! You can get as creative as you like. If you've signed up, at your request, I can potentially ask your recipient if they would like something that isn't on their wishlist. For example, I usually ask if they would be happy to receive altered cards.

5. Hot Damn, how do I sign up?

Follow these steps:

1. Reply in this thread with your intention to sign up.
2. Private Message me with your postal details and your wishlist.
3. I will then get back to you when signups close with your recipient's details.

6. How soon should I mail my gift?

As soon as you can! You don't want your gift to arrive late, so get on it!

7. What do I do when I receive my gift?

Post a picture of it up here in this thread! It's great to see the gifts that get sent each year.

One more space alter before I do a Top.

Wow yeah, foil Damnation is a nice card. Mine is a bit more curved than I'd like. Is that normal with all TSP block foils? They seem to curl more than most other sets.

Anyway, I did my first space alter. Getting in some practice at this before I do a Divining Top.

@Juju: The colors on the Awakening Zone are really nice. Good work as usual. I'm still enjoying the Wall of Roots I have in my cube.

@juju: those are awesome! The color matching is absolutely flawless man

These last couple pages have some sweet alters.

Juju, you have become quite skilled with your extensions. It is cool to see those cube cards all together.

I have been doing alters for a little while now, and I still wouldn't have the guts to alter a JTMS. The most valuable cards I have altered are a Stoneforge Mystic and a Vedalken Shackles.

Speaking of which, here is my Vedalken Shackles (the colours look better on the card. the scan made them look a little weird, particularly on the left side):

I don't normally like alters on the old borders, but that Contamination looks amazing. Shackles is great, but the colors on Contamination are just awesome.

Hi guys, I've been lurking on this forum for a while but finally decided to register. I just completed my very first alter for my pauper cube. Needed to start with a junky card. I'm glad it turned out decent, I'm looking forward to altering many more of my cube cards in the future.

Also, big shout out to Juju for his altering tutorial.

I sport a Juju alter in my cube; it's very clean work.
