Nov 22, 2012megatog201 posted a message on The Top 10 Keyword Abilities Ever - #1 and Wrap-UpI also enjoyed the read. But I think you did a few things wrong. #1 equip should be endurance A+. They will probably always have equips in every set or block and there is no way they will ever run out of ideas for the keyword. #2 Banding should have been #1. I mean come on man.Posted in: Improbable Things

Some matchups it turns a 3 land hand into a 0 or 1 land hand. Devastating.
Mainly 4/4s swinging in on turn 2 and 8/8 tramples swinging in on turn 3. With just a little control ie mana leak or Lapse of Certainty then it's impossible to keep up with.
Turn 1 Leonin Arbiter can reck mana bases that rely heavy on fetchlands.
Turn 2 or 3Lodestone Golem can destroy decks that hope to clear the board with sweepers.
I can keep on going but I really don't want to reveal the entire deck list at this time.
Doubt it if you like, but the deck has all the answers to anything you can imagine playing against.
Another version I'm working on that closely resembles a standard deck can swing in on turn 2 with a 7/7 while forcing you to sac your fetchland in responce to Arbiter just to blow up the land you just fetched. Obviously Quest for the Holy Relic, Argentum Armor base here but I like green as a back up for the power it offers with the metalcraft guys.
Wow are you so wrong. Best case and point: State championships, my friend is running that new UWr venser deck. His first opp in the top 8 is Titan Ramp. Ramp starts going off, but my friend resolves a frost titan and then blinks it. Taps down the titan and a green source. That Play won him the game as next turn he resolved another frost titan and tapped down all the green sources. That prevented the opp from ramping into more mountains and winning the game.
You just can't call every card that interacts with strong cards a win more card. There really was no other card in standard that would have won the game for him. It's not win more it just wins more.
Back on subject I really like a WU shell with Sphinx of Lost Truths, Sun Titan, Frost Titan, Wall of Omens, Reveillark, Tectonic Edge, vendilion clique, Lone Missionary, Aether Adept, Glen Elendra Archmage. Something with those or most of those would be pretty fun and possibly pretty strong
Are you serious? This card is AMAZING!!!! How many basic lands do people run in formats where this is playable? You have to play it on their upkeep but it's basically Chant 9-12 in he Shhh, Quiet deck. They can play Artifacts and what not, but it still keeps them off what the main plan was. Also you can cast this and then they either float mana, for which you pass phases, or let's it resolve then you go off since they probably can't produce blue anymore. It's better then Abeyance in almost all situations except. for the card draw of course.
Sounds like Tremor, Pyroclasm, volcanic Fallout rapes this deck
4 Reassembling Skeleton
3 Ichor Rats
4 Gatekeeper of Malakir
4 Contagion Clasp
2 Contagion Engine
4 Lux cannon
2 Trigon of Infestation
3 Culling Dais
4 Consuming Vapors
1 Liliana Vess
1 Sorin Markov
4 Tectonic Edge
1 Bojuka Bog
2 Crypt of Agadeem
15 Swamp
I remember when Tarmogoyf was just a crap rare. (Before Reginals) I picked up a play set for less then $5. Everyone was like you think that card is good? LOLZ
The basic reason I pick them as well as goyf is if you get something alot bigger then it's cost and has little to no drawback then it's a bomb. Simple as that. These cards have no drawbacks, at all. Simple as that.
I'm not sure what deck you are talking about. Could you give an example deck list for the transition into extended?
4 Master of Etherium
3 Lodestone Golem
4 Esperzoa
3 Trinket Mage
4 Court Homunculus
4 Memnite
3 Path to Exile
3 Mox Opal
1 Dispeller's Capsule
4 Tempered Steel
4 Island
8 Plains
2 Scalding Tarn
4 Arid Mesa
This deck looks pretty amazing.
Imagine something similar to this. T1 Play Memnite, Court Homunculus, Mox, Court Homunculus. T2 Play Master of Etherium swing for 8. T3 play Tempered steel and swing for 17. Or just Tempered T2 and swing for 11.
When running Tempered Steel I see no reason to run Overseerer. It's effect is this turn rather then needing 2 extra turns to set up.
If you run Esperzoa then you really need shieldmage in the board for at least red sweepers. It basically turns off pyroclasms and makes Volcanic Fallout a really bad burn spell.
My opinion is yes it really is that bad. Reason being is your scenario will never happen. It'll go more like turn one play discard. Turn two you play Arbiter. Now this is where it gets messed up. They path, bolt, G blast, etc it. Either now or after you play Maralen, or they just path, bolt, G blast, etc Maralen on there up keep. OR they pay 2 and search for removal. Next upkeep path, bolt, G blast one of the pieces.
In the perfect world your idea is good, but this is reality. Do you really think they will search for removal and not use it?
It's really not a bad card. I however enjoy making decks out of the worst cards ever. Blood funnel is pretty good with spells that put tokens into play. And with Boseiju, Who Shelters All. And I'm finding it really amazing with Genesis Wave. 4th turn kill here. I know legacy 4th turn kill is not great but on the back of Blood funnel it is.
Sorrow's Path. This one is a bit harder, and really even funny when it goes off. Turn 8+ kill. Play Jade Monolith, Simulacrum, and Mogg Maniac. Don't expect to be able to pull it off all that often but lolz all day when you do. And your opp will have something to talk about forever.
Carnival of Souls. I know it looks like crap and you have to be very tricky with this one. But it almost made it into a near tourney level deck of mine at a certain time.
Basically cleric zombie deck. After a little while have Rotlung Reanimator, and Cabal Archon in play. Cast Artificial Evolution targeting the Reanimator. Change the Zombie into cleric, play Carnival and win. Yeah, it's a 5 card combo. But so what? lol. I play this deck for fun and occasionally win group games. Use death wish, so you can side board the cards, so you don't need to pack your deck with Carnival of souls and Artificial Evolutions btw.
These decks are great at getting laughs, but my vote for worst card is Jace, the Mind Sculptor. For the life of me I just can't find a single use for him!
Sally: "Okay, declaring attackers."
You can't declare your attackers at the end of Main Step right?
This means she is in her mind already out of the main step and already to the declare attackers. It's his discretion as to what point he wanted to use the ability.
It's kinda like Sally: "End main step 1"
Jack: "Ok."
Begin Combat Step
Sally: "Declaring Attackers;"
Jack: "In Response. I'll _____"
or
Sally: "End main step 1"
Jack: "In Response. I'll _____"
From the looks of things, just on the limited knowledge you have given, it appears that she was trying to deny him the option to do it correctly by not going step by step.
