My main area of concern is in the 7 counterspells. I want to know what the best mix of disruption would be for this explosive, low-curve deck. I've been thinking of changing from Spell Pierce to Duress since they do the same thing, but Duress doesn't leave your opponent any outs. I was also thinking of throwing in 1 or 2 Innocent Bloods
Basically, I want to know what mix of disruption you'd run for a general/unkown meta.
I've got room in a UB deck I'm building for seven 1cc disruption spells. The deck runs on very few lands, so more expensive disruption is out of the question.
I'm wondering what kind of mix of disruption I should be running. At one point I was running less-than-full sets of Duress and Spell Pierce before it hit me that they do exactly the same thing.
Should I be running 50/50 permission/discard, bounce, terror ...
Yes, well, it's not supposed to be competitive. I mean, I'm not actively trying to make it uncompetitive, but it's still an around-the-kitchentable kind of deck.
Ah well, maybe I'll put it together someday and let you know how it went.
You do have a point about the gy-hate though. It's played everywhere.
Oh, erm ... sorry if that sounded harsh.
I was just responding to your statement "can this deck consistantly get Fluctuator out on turn 2? I think perhaps not. And that's the main reason this deck will never be competitive."
The reason that deck won't be competitive is because it's a Legacy deck that relies on one spell and it has no way to protect that spell from any sort of counterspell. Force of Will. Tormod's Crypt or Relic of Progenitus both break up the combo.
I have to ask, how are the japanese Player's Choice sleeves? The debate seems to be between Ultra-Pro, Dragon Shield, and KMC, but I seem to see these Player's Choice sleeves everywhere I go .
In your experience, when do you go for Empyrial Archangel and when do you go for Blazing Archon? I haven't quite figured out which is better for which situations yet.
How long will entomb stay at its current price? Is the price still 'reeling' perhaps from the shock of its not-so-recent unbanning?
Are people finding uses for it other than Reanimator and Hulk that I'm not aware of? If I recall correctly, Entomb was banned more because of Worldgorger Dragon + Animate Dead ..
Which one would you choose and why?

Any recommendations on the mix I should be running of General/Specific counters, bounce, etc?

Wild Mongrel
Some of my favourite green cards to play in non-competitive are:
Nimble Mongoose
Roar of the Wurm
Predator's Strike
EDIT: Wow Nimble Mongoose is $2 now?
Say you have .. 8 slots reserved for control elements in a UB Deck that has a low mana curve, and you're on a budget.
What combination of control elements do you run?
Where's the best place to find MTG art (high res) online?
