This in multiples works very nicely with madness. When it dies, pay {b} to bring it back. Discard it to madness. Another one dies, activate to return the first to the battlefield and the second to your hand...
This is very good. Much better than giving them back the card. Also makes blinking it (Eldrazi Displacer) much better, as you keep flicking away their best card.
I agree with the OP on one thing, people complain way, way too much.
They complain about power creep, but then expect the cards to be good enough to change eternal formats. And then they complain when they don't. They complain when the flavor is boring, and then when it's too complex.
This set happens to be extremely balanced. Perhaps it won't lead to immediate bans in Modern, boo hoo. But maybe it will tone down standard just enough that it becomes the best standard in years. We'll have to wait and see.
Or maybe Wizards should make a new set in which they break the game with only overpowered cards that will have these forums pooping in their pants from excitement. Just reprint Black Lotus already Wizards, the mtgsalvation people need their fix.
As Warden pointed out, the mana base is tight as is. I can see going up to 9 fetches, but cutting what? Is basic plains necessary?
And Herzog ran only 1 bayou, but only had 4 thoughtseize, 1 ZP in the sideboard.
While practicing, I haven't had DRS unable to produce mana t2, but I can foresee it happening.
It's very close to Herzog's list (which I am a big fan of), except that I cut 1 SoLaS and Gaea's Cradle for the Dark Depths combo.
I find the combo to be extremely difficult for some decks to deal with. It ends the game quickly against Delver, RDW, and Combo if you make it past the early game.
I'm not sure how powerful Sylvan Library is in the current meta. The life loss is too important to ever be able to draw against Delver, and while it's very powerful against Miracles,
I'm not convinced that 2 are still necessary for the maindeck.
Any thoughts on the list and the prospective metagame at the GP? (As though we can successfully predict it at such a large tournament)
Satyr is a great aggro one-drop. Plenty of people overestimate the drawback on Jackal Pup... unless you're in the aggro mirror, it's not like the damage is really that important anyway if you kill them dead.
Finally someone (among a few others) that are sensible.
Fluxuate gives away too much credit.
While I have spent much time on this deck on this deck in the past, it's his recent persistence in perfecting this list that has pushed it over the top.
He pilots it very well, and his results speak for themselves.
All that to say: congratulations on the 1st place finish! You definitely deserve it.
As far as the deck goes, I don't have anything else to add really. We've talked about and tested this deck so often, and I think it is very well placed in the meta.
Rinse, repeat.
It exiles so so much in Legacy/Modern. So versatile.

It honestly pains me to read these complaints.
And because they all have ETB abilities. In modern, you can bounce + vial for many shenanigans.

This is an incredible red 1-drop.

Also, Orzhoz Charm seems pretty good here.
