I've been running this build, and it's been having great results. Went 4-1 at my local FNM. My loss came to a homebrew goblin deck, Raid Bombardment is no joke. Took out Jund, Super Friends (made me truly appreciate hexmage), Creatureless Valakut, and Polymorph.
After friday I dont understand why Sadaistic Sacrament isn't main decked more often it was amazing against all of my match ups, got rid of valakut, polymorph, jace 2.0, Gideon it was amazing. I mained Doom blade because it's annoying instant removal for B[1] thats amazing, the only match up it was SB'd for was jund.
Don't bring up Bloodghast, not a fan I traded my set away for a set of valakuts, and polymorphs, it did nothing for me.
-sorry about the deck, still getting the hang of using the deck feature-
I bought a pack of worldwake last month at Wal-Mart juat for sh!ts and gigs, and pulled a Jace. Later I trade it for a Gideon like an Idiot...but I am sitting on 3 Gideons righ now so I don't feel too bad.
If they dont re-9rint (my 'letter after O' key busted) Nocturnas I might cry, I just bought a set for $70. I dont see see this guy seeing much deck time, he's no nocturnas, and definately not a solid three cost card like gatekee9er and nighthawk.
1. is a swamp considered a black card, to activate vampire nocturnas ' ability?
2. Maybe it's just because im a noob, but wouldnt nirkana renevant 's ability make her into some huge crzy beatstick since everytime you tap to give her +1/+1 she would make another swamp with her first ability?
I am a noob so please don't be to critical when I explain my deck, I am open to constructive criticsm.
There are two ways to use my deck, all out vampire aggro, and black mono-control.
Vamp Aggro: is it's current setup, typical vamp setup going for the quick win with nocturnus, hexmage keeps the planeswalkers at bay, and first strike doesn't hurt. Gatekeeper sweeps he field along with vapors, and urge to feed.
Not much more to be said here.
Control: Hexmage is SB'd for Bloodghast, Nighthawk for consume the meek, Gate Keeper brings out Haunting Echoes, and a 3rd witch or Nirkana. Once in awhile I'll swap urge to feed for doom blade, I'm still not conviced which i like most. So here consume the meek clears the field along with vapors and doomblade/urge to feed. Mind sludge, inquisition, clear your opponents hand out, while haunting echoes gets rid of all doubles (awesome against U/W/R control decks). Bloodghasts gets landfalled after meek, and Nocturnus beefs up all my vamps.
Ok so heres the rundown, my buddy Jay has been playing magic alot longer than I have, sometimes I think he just pulls rules out of his @$$. He said Dawn Glare Invoker 's ability can still be activated because tapping mana is not an "activated ability" so Linvala The Keeper Of Silence wouldnt stop invoker from tapping your creatures.
