Damage to Planeswalkers in not the same as combat damage to creatures. Similar to how Infect works with players, damage by any source dealt to PWs is dealt in the form of removing Loyalty counters. A PW is put into the graveyard (NOT destroyed) if it ever has zero Loyalty counters on it. Thus, while Gideon technically has indestructibility, this does little more than protecting him from Beast Within. He would still be put into your graveyard due to the lack of Loyalty counters from combat.
Yeah, that's my other option, but I wanted to just quickly share with a friend or two. Thought there should be a way. =\ even to just make a jpg with all the cards in a set on it.
As for the lands, I think it depends on what color mana it's producing. I think White, Multicolored, and Colorless give you black names, and Black, Green, Red, and Blue give you white names.
Did you happen to get to the end of the article when they said they came from Planet Zeeba? Are you seriously taking this semi-seriously??
Yes, anything can happen, but I really think that alien invasion is a big no. As mentioned, intergalactic travel is INCREDIBLY energy-consuming, and if they have ways of producing that much energy, then I doubt they'd have any reason to be interested in Earth (resources would obviously be a non-issue for such a civilization).
I hate to bring this up, but honestly, the plot of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is the more likely scenario. We have no idea how intergalactic travel will work. Maybe it requires empty space between A and B, and the Milky Way just wandered into the I-80 of space. To avoid a trabillion alien-buck rebuild of the paths, they just atomize a galaxy or two.
Again, really unlikely. Like, moreso than the chance that there's other intelligent life.
Ha! Love the Garza, Gals! To date that's the third alter of her I've ever seen (all in this forum). I run a Garza EDH and have always wanted to commission an alter for the obvious reasons... But my friend had an idea recently of just sharpie-ing a paper bag over her head, which I might just do myself.
Quick question: I recently made a few new cards, and wanted to show them off to a buddy of mine. When I exported in HTML format, though, the images wouldn't show. Is there some way to export a sheet of card images with the actual images included?
EDIT: @ SlideGob: Do you mean Future Sight formatted cards? If so, all non-White/non-Multicolored cards from Future Sight have white text, while White and Multicolored cards have black text. It's how to template works. I don't think there's anything you can do to change it easily.
I thought you were trying to avoid cards that did similar things? Thran Quarry and Glimmervoid?
I really doubt they'll do lands. They can't ridiculously stack it with expensive cards or it wouldn't make monetary sense, and otherwise you just get sets being bought for the 2 or 3 EDH staples they'd reprint. Honestly, I don't think this'd pan out.
Thanks, I'd appreciate that. Though I'm not sure about that gameplan, as it requires a certain card (of 2 available to us) in order to not be a suicide attempt, both of which can be countered. All the same, Moroii is a good card for EDH as a 40-turn clock for yourself is easy to compensate for. Just not sure I want to go full-out suicide for a Vamp-tribal.
On that note, I've brainstormed a few ideas, and I'd just like to get some feedback. First off, I'm pretty sure Moroii is going in, and secondly, I'd like to pump in some counterspells, as in my last game I got a lot of heat for being a Blue player with no responses to the big threats of the game. Ideas?
Hey, all. So Garza's basically the second EDH deck I ever made (and now the oldest since I took apart Teneb), but it is by far the least competetive of my current 4. Thus, I'd like to sacrifice some of the efficiency of it and turn it into a fun, casual tribal deck. So, without further ado, the decklist as it is:
Basically this is a controlly-type EDH, with a hopefully heavily-equipped Garza being the win-con. I'm fine with taking out whatever is suggested (I can always find a place to put them), and all I ask is that this remain as budget as possible while remaining fun. All that is listed here I already have, but please don't suggest duals.
Other than that, I'd like to have a strong Vampire theme while keeping the controlly aspect (I plan on making a Thrax Zombie EDH that'll be more cutthroat and aggro). I know there's not much for Vamps in the way of blue, but I'd like to keep Garza as the General. You can suggest whatever you think would make this (budget) playable, fun, and/or Vampire themed.
Just looked into this thread again for the first time since before the INN pre, and it hit me that the spoiled art could definitely fit into Forbidden Alchemy. Thoughts on this? Personally I think it'd be a waste to put new(er) art on a new card, and this is pure specualtion based on the arts, but I think it isn't as far-fetched as what goes on in this place.
Ok, so I have a problem with weight. No, it's not what you'd expect. I'm very underweight. And before anyone asks, no, not anorexic, bulemic, or any other under the effects of any other dietary disorder.
I'm a six-foot-two (approx) 18 year old guy, and when I last checked my weight (about a week ago) I was 137 (lbs for you whacky non-Americans). The main reason for my concern is I'm a month into college, and I've lost weight (was 145 at the end of summer). As far as I know, I don't have any tapeworms or other parasitic entities that can cause weight loss. I've always been a skinny guy (I don't think I've ever broken 150), but the fact that I'm losing weight when I'm supposed to be gaining it (freshman 15 and all) is kinda wigging me out. I haven't really changed my eating habits (except it isn't as healthy as Mom's cooking), and I'm eating a good two-and-a-half to three squares a day, but weight gain has always been tough for me (I have a high metabolism).
The other reason I worry about this is actually my girlfriend's concern. She's about a foot less than me, but now that I've lost weight she's almost 10 lbs heavier than I am. She is perfectly normal for a girl of her age, but when she thinks about how she weighs more than me, she gets all flustered and is upset about weighing more than a six-foot plus guy. Obviously, I'm the exception rather than the rule, but I really love this girl and feel guilty about making her upset. (Just as a side note, not sure if it'll help, but I can still lift her relatively easily, so I'm not just skin and bones.)
So what advice does the inter-webz have for a college kid (with no real money to speak of) who wants to gain weight? I'd prefer to bulk out, but I don't really have the body type for that. I'd settle with just lean muscle, something to make the GF feel better about herself (because as all attached men know, that's what matters).
The Gym memberships here (at my college) are mad expensive, so if anyone wants to suggest excesize, I'd appreciate a routine that doesn't involve a trainer and/or heavy equipment.
What, no Forbidden Alchemy? Runecaster's Pike basically makes love to this guy. I'd suggest adding blue, if only just for this, though it'll also make Gambits easier to pay off, and might make you want to try out some Gitaxian Probes. Funny concept, good luck with this.
I just downloaded it a day or two ago, and today while I was trying to set preferences I noticed that even the M12 theme will not work... I assume this is because I downloaded the ISD base, and some parts of the theme do not apply to DFC, so the system goes foobar and stops working and shuts down.
Is there a fix to this? Or just wait until the ISD theme is released?
And shouldn't this have happened already? The site linked in the OP says themes are updated the Monday after a set's prerelease...
Lol, the caption of the comic title page should be "LIKE A BOSS."
Other than that, interesting new character, hoping for a PW (if he gets incarnated [in-cardboard-ated?] as a card) that follows Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker's weak stealing subtheme. My only gripe is he wouldn't be around in the same standard as the Swords (assuming he's in the assumedly-Ravnican Hook-Line-Sinker and WotC isn't stupid enough to reprint the 5 swords in a coreset).
@ Mathocism: I really really like where this is headed, but I feel like using Arch as mainly a lord is kind of shorting him, though I've been wrong before. If you're suggesting mono-U equip, what kind of equip are you considering? I'm afraid this is gonna head for the Swords, and when I first read your proposal I was psyched that I wouldn't have to splurge for 1-2 more Wurmcoils. =/
Imma see what I can do with a preliminary "Steelfish" concept. Sounds budget-able... hopefully...
I haven't done too much playtesting so far, so any advice would be great!
I really like the Spined Thopter, as it comes down for a tapped creature (with an Architect out) and replaces the mana used to spend it immediately (as it's blue). It also just serves as a 2/1 (3/2) flier for 2, which is pretty awesome.
I've included the Blighted Agent/Silver-Inlaid Dagger pieces here for the aforementioned T4 poison win (though I don't depend on it happening often), and the Daggers usually just serve as pumps for Mages/Agents.
I saw Druidic Satchel floating around a few decks here and decided to give it a spin, and it's been a nice sink for mana whenever I don't have a fatty in hand/the Spine-Core synergy up and running.
EDIT: ^^ Double nath'd. Ah well.

Yeah, she's not much of a looker.
