Bleh. While yeah, the art is cool... Greg Staples should be shot if he made that to be our beloved hyppie. The black armor from a few posts ago looks much more like the lord of spectres... hyppie don't need no ride ;-p Of course I'm not entirely sold on the idea that that is indeed hyppie, box art or no. It just looks... wrong.
The biggest problem i see with Eradicate is that it's a sorcery which alot of times isn't such a big deal, but when T&N drops Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Sundering Titan, you lose 3 lands before you can do anything about it if you don't have any other removal on tap. Also bad versus a Through the Breached Kokusho, the Evening Star (though ya don't really see that all THAT much ;-p). That said i still like Eradicate but prolly not enough to use it in the current t2 environment.
I've experimented with devouring greed in this deck and found that it really doesn't help much... Rarely do i have more than 2 creatures in play, and when i do I usually have better things to do with my mana than kill all my creatures. Although back when i tried the greed, I did have a slightly higher mana curve. If I were to mebbe get rid of all the arcane nuttyness and just run more creatures (say drop glacial ray as i generally go for the dome with these, and add in frostling or hearth kami or some such) I could see it being more effective, but really, a large part of being able to win so early is all the splicing that I end up doing (turn 3 thief of hope, turn 4 splice 2 rituals for a ryusei, turn 5 cast ritual, splice through the breach to a lava spike and drop a hasty kokusho to swing with his buddy is always fun)
Just a fun little deck i threw together for FNM when i didn't have any t2 decks i wanted to play... it turns out it's actually capable of some disgusting turn 4 or 5 kills. The problem is that the deck is very tight and sometimes bogs down horribly. Now that betrayers is becoming legal however I'd like to update it, and mebbe figure out a sideboard strategy (KCI being my worst matchup, with affinity being a serious problem only if they get a really good draw). 2 things I'm thinking about are switching the black zubera for bile urchin, and phyrexian arena for night's whisper.
