    Descendant's Path comes to mind.

It would be ok in a different deck, just not this one. it doesnt play right for path to work. you would have to build around it to make it work and this deck has different goals in mind. I think you could build a good deck with it, but you are dropping at least 2 colors to make it work as well as it could. that being said, thanks for the recomendation... in another deck it would be included ASAP lol.

if i ever get a hold of 4 cavern of souls this is where im going to put them lol

suggestions from me are to add Mayor of Avabruck instead of Hamlet Captain, all these humans he is pretty much an anthem for your field, and if he flips o well you got a 3/3 that poops 3/3's lol

other than that i like it, i mean sure its flipping crazy but it looks fun lol

I changed a few things around... and here is the new list. also thx for the suggestion on Mayor lol for some reason I thought he was a 4 drop :-\

after looking over the deck I realized I would much rather have Hero of bladehold at 3 but I would need more haste for her so I upped lightning mauler to a playset to compensate. I haven't had time to test against another deck yet since I don't know anyone in the area besides my reflection that plays magic lol. I was able to solitaire the deck about 10-15 times since last night and its been much more impressive/consistent. The only other change Im looking into myself now is dropping 1 Reckless Waif and adding another Doomed Traveler.

im curious, do you still have this deck built, and if so have you tested it out at any fnm tournaments? I used to run a 5 colored deck but that was when shards was out in standard lol im curious as to what most games look like for this deck

yes, the deck is still together lol its one of 2 that I run (the second being Big Red since I refuse to let koth die lol). I havent had the deck at a fnm yet since i just moved to california and havent even found when the local card shop yet.

the deck plays surprisingly consistent from what ive seen so far in play testing... the caverns really fix every problem with the mana base since the only 2 colors that need double are white and red and since those are the main colors anyway its not really been an issue. to be honest I was the most surprised by this list being good than anyone lol I took apart my W/u humans list to sleeve this monstrosity up :D!! I think my favorite card in the deck has to be skirsdag high priest... I know that sounds weird but people just dont see that card enough to take it as seriously as you need to lol "end of your turn, mortapod your face, tap these dudes BAM 5/5 flyer".

Mortarpod is another card I was told didnt fit into the deck until people saw it in action... everything in this deck looks random but somehow meshes into a deck that works really well. I want to get the mana base a little more consistent but I expected a bad hand in ever 5-6 hands due to mana issues... you just gotta learn to mulligan properly.

before anyone really tries putting the deck down, I would recommend sleeving it up and trying it for yourself Grin lol also I would still like recommendations as its not a finished product quite yet.

I was able to pick up a playset of Cavern of Souls so as a joke with a couple of buddies I build the deck but it turned out to be quite a bit more effective than I thought it would be so I fine tuned it a bit and decided to share the list.

As much as I would like to supply actual tournament results, I havent had time to take it to an event as I have just moved into a new area but it has done well in playtesting so far. I am planing to bring it to fnm this week or next depending on how job hunting goes.

    Galvanic Blast?

This card is good. He'll always be 4 damage the first few turns, and likely a creature later, which may still get in for damage. Seems pretty comparable to Goblin Guide if you ask me.

to be honest, ignoring the whole not having haste thing... its actually better than goblin guide (saying that as a goblin guide fan boy lol) its the same damage if it swings as guide swinging 2 times AND you dont have to worry about giving your opponent any lands. with the added benefit of it being a flame javelin to the face for R even if your opponent just doesnt want to deal with it.

SoWaP is not great vs. Wolf Run...all it does is stop a slag storm hit, and they aren't waiting till turn 4 or 5 to do that....

oh right, cause i forgot how much better angelic destiny is at preventing that scenario...

Inferno Titan, huntmaster of the fells, galvanic blast, slagstorm and whipflare are all red, all in WRR and SoWaP renders them mostly useless. if you know your going up against a deck that runs sweepers/spot removal you HAVE to play around it. if your creature gets removed while equiping, it cost you 2... and if your creature gets removed while attaching, it cost you 2WW AND your angelic destiny. the match-up is a tough one no matter what, but SoWaP is at LEAST as good as angelic destiny hands down.

you already have oblivion ring and fiend hunter/leonin relic-warder to take care of non-red threats. not to mention if your running mirran crusader it makes almost no sense to run 0 SoWaP in the main since when equiped its at least a 4/4 (tho usually 5/5) pro: green, red, white and black double striker (I have yet to have a game that ended without an honor of the pure on the board hence the extra +1/+1) that gains you some life and also deals some extra damage.

Edit: Oh, and if your running thalia... they ARE going to wait till turn 4 to Slagstorm. on top of that, if your thalia is equiped with SoWaP, they better hope they are running black to doom blade it or they get to waste a GSZ looking for the 1 (maybe 2) of acidic slime (paying 1 extra to do so mind you) and THEN waste it by targeting thalia which only benefits you.

I much rather drop an Grand Abolisher than an Angelic Destiny.

    I would go like:

    -2 Grand Abolisher
    +1 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
+1 Sword of War and Peace

fair enough, but if his meta also has a lot of control that change would be ill advised as well

huh? Angelic Destiny is insane against WRR

so is SoWaP, and that's why I didn't say drop both. SoWaP is also easier to cast thru thalia, and thalia hurts WRR more than you so you should be running 3 of her against it. (oh right make sure to have 1 in the side for matches that you NEED to see her in)

if his biggest concern is winning against WRR he should be looking to win game 1 and make them try to take 2 and 3 not playing from behind.

How could i improve the deck ?
I'm not sure if i should use 1 more Thalia, Geist or Sword in my Mainboard.
I still can't estimate the local Metagame and what whould be played at serious tournaments.
The deck i generally fear the most is Wolfrunramp, without a good start hand with Thalia or a good curve with removal i can only hope that their hand is much worse than my hand.

imo I would say -3 Loyal Cathar, -1 Hero of Bladehold +3 Elite Inquisitor, +1 Geist of Saint traft that should make ur creature base a little more powerful, albeit more fragile to sweeps but your playing an aggro deck so you should be used to it. also look into adding some spirit producers (lingering souls is my fav but if your not looking to splash black then midnight haunting is best)

one more thing, if ur worried about WRR I would look into getting those SoWaP into the main.... my suggestion would be dropping 1 angelic destiny and 1 oblivion ring to the side

I'm sorry. I meant to say that I'm considering substituting him in for my 2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, not Grand Abolisher...

its really a meta call.... Elite Inquisitor thrives in a more aggro meta or one filled with zombies, werewolves and vampires (most cases those amount to the same thing). Its "sub-par" protections, as ive heard people say when talking about him, turn out to be VERY relevant in a lot of match ups. combo that with being able to swing AND block and you have yourself a tiny monster that gets pretty insane when holding a sword or when angelic destiny is attached.

Thalia is too good to not be at least a 2 of in the main, but no more than 3 since having more than 1 of her in hand is only good if you also have a SoWaP on the board. My meta is mostly zombies/combo so grand abolisher is not needed... it might be ok in a couple of match ups I see but not seeing it hasnt affected my results thusfar. The list Im using currently has yet to run into a deck that Im worried about in any way (have yet to drop below 2nd since running it... 3-1, 3-0-1 and 4-0 so far), but my meta is a little odd to be fair.

Thats my current sideboard but I think I will be changing a few things up after not having to side in timely reinforcements in even 1 game in the last 2 weeks.

This deck is quite possibly one of my favorite standard decks of all time, and easily the second most powerful one ive ever piloted (boros bushwhacker is still #1 imo lol took first for 2 months straight with that monster... then ranger of eos rotated and it was never the same Frown )

Elite inquisitor is easily one of the best cards in my deck. I put him in as a 4 of and never looked back... seriously he has won me more games than any other card in my 76 (I always run a 61 card mainboard... its kinda my thing). being able to swing AND block makes this chap obsurd in most cases... especially with a sword or destiny equiped.

I have a link to my list in my sig if your curious, check it out... critique if you would like, Im always up for testing new things.

Vault sits in your hand untill you need it.... I would say that its the first card on the chopping block if your looking to cut, but when it works it REALLY REALLY works lol. thalia really doesnt hurt much at all since she is only a 2 drop against decks that it hurts them more than you... drop honor or gather first and then play her. Usually she eats some form of removal but that means she did her job of drawing removal AND probably tapping them out. paying 3 for an honor can get annoying but its still worth having her main IMO. she takes more skill/practice to use right than anyother card in the deck but her payoff is too great to move only to the side. she has never really gotten in the way for me more than 1 game out of 10, and she has NEVER lost me the game due to not being able to cast something. sometimes fiend huntering out thalia is the best call for a couple of turns.

this week for example, I had to use fiend hunter to get rid of her so I could cast angelic destiny next turn on my hunter... so even if they got rid of hunter I would still have thalia plus the mana to then attach destiny to thalia.

I have been toying with the side for a while so the black as of now is just for the flashback of lingering souls, but the chapels dont hurt unless you dont have a plains. the singleton swamp and island are for getting ghost quarted/still activate fortress and chapel.
