*Mamelon, Avatar of Kokusho, Tneill, Raia, and Tangerine Tulip form a magically empowered vigilante team*

I can envision it now . . . only let's stay away from fuku, shall we? We don't want Naoko Takeuchi getting down our backs. :p

Though SapphireTri or Priest can be our Tuxedo Mask. Wink

    * Raia has dibs on Michiru

besides, wait till poor Kris gets here and find out she's late :p

Why can't we all just get along?

Anyways, Bel and Aggro are the only ones left? How about if we skip them and continue on to the next round and then we can let them have more time later?

Because pairings affect who plays who

Not really, I'm always edgy before the matchups I'm supposed to win with no problems.

Saying a matchup is favourable hardly qualifies as being cocky Rolleyes

Are you referring to members with g/f's whom are also members? Because Bel doesn't count. His is an inter-girlfriend. Teach

Teach Shouldn't speak of relationships of which you are not a part

This is already a format known as Highlander Smile

The general problem is that tutors should end up being banned as they are somewhat too powerful, imo.

Okay, let's get 1 things straight, the card is NOT broken. Tolarian Academy and Black Lotus are broken.

When judging balance, there are a few things people need to look at. Comparison is a good one.

Savannah Lions - This card has been a tournament staple since it's creation in alpha.
Pros: AoK's card has +1 toughness, a phenominal ability, costs white mana less, and can be played in any colour.
Cons: Your opponent gains 3 life.

Isamaru, Hound of Konda - This card is more recent but has been a 3/4 of in almost every aggro deck packing white despite being legendary.
Pros: A great ability, costs white mana less, can be used in any colour and is not legendary.
Cons: Your opponent gains 3 life.

Skyshroud Cutter - Generally a bad card, but has seen play in wacky False Cure decks.
Pros: Can be played in any colour, has a great ability, costs less to hardcast and gives your opponent 2 less life.
    Cons: None

Overall: This card is waaay above the curve for a number of reasons.
    1) It is free. The ability to drop this on turn 1/2/3/4/etc and still have mana back to cast whatever your deck normally would is amazing.
    2) It is essentially any colour. There is no "if you control a plains" wording, so it's a 2/2 for 0 in any colour. Every single aggro deck would run 4.
    3) It's a weenie without the drawback. Typically aggro weenie deck creatures fall into one of two categories. Above the curve p/t or a creature with a good support ability. This is a 2/2 for 0 (which is a bove the curve) and isn't dead in late game because it has a great removal ability tacked on.
    4) It's "downside" is negligible. Your opponent gaining 3 life means nothing, when you have a 2/2. Not to mention the fact that you still have your mana to play whatever you normally would, you'll likely knock the life down in 1 turn, 2 at most.
    5) Dies to removal is not a valid argument when the plus it gives your opponent is not relevant throughout the course of the game.

Having said all of this, none of it is a sleight to the winning card. It was well designed and it is a good card. A bit too strong but most cards fall into too strong or too weak category. The judges combined inspection selected this as the best of the cards, and it is the CoTM no matter how many people argue about judges balance scoring.

It helps to actually have tron in the decklist if it's a tron deck.

    Congratulations

As the only judge who thought the card was/is vastly overpowered, I stand by my remarks (though I disagree with people that think the alternate cost is unflavourable, I just believe it is negligible)

Anyways, gogo you, both for being the first person to only play in the last round, and for increasing the male/female win percentage of this thing.
