The Hand of Emrakul is my go to here, everything else is for if he fails Broodwarden seems to fit better then Coat of Arms and can turn your minions into a force to fear, especially when combined with Overrun. Birds are better then elves hands down in any non-mono-green setting. Splinter Twin would be a lot more efficient if you put it on your spawn makers, then its like having Siege Gang Commander show up at every end of turn, the creature will die but the tokens it makes wont.
If it comes to them the Legends are going to win you the game if you can kick out 10 for a Butcher of Truth, reasonably done by turn 5-6 the card advantage is amazing and if your opponent doesnt have an answer then they arnt gonna get a chance to have one. If Aeons Torn drops . . . well Ive never gotten the chance to swing with him because my opponents keep scooping when it happens.
Hope this gave ya some ideas, you seemed pretty heavy on red mana for the little you needed but I hadent considered Splinter Twin on Emrakul's Hatcher but it seems like a great way to make a turn 7 Aeons Torn.
Presently Debating Masticores to replace Meloku, with their recent placement in FTV: Relics and ability to target the Swans of Bryn Argoll to grant at will card draw.
Im sorry to ask this again, but i keep hearing things that mox diamond for example wont be reprinted in FTV because its on the reserved list.
But there are a lot of people saying the reserved list is for sets (that become standard legal etc.) but not for boxes like FTV...
Doomsday is cheaper and you dont run the risk of mana flood, especially since people keep pitching these 22+ land decks. youd be left with some eldrazi and alot of land and no way to know if a shelldock would reach Aeons Torn. Also Doomsday lets you stack the deck.
Selective memory is a lot safer and a great way to trigger if you say turn one shelldocked into an eldrazi, then you just drop yourself to 19 cards and go to town a good mono blue, turn 4-5 option. You could also set up a combo with treasure hunt for that Im betting
Ya, it can. The target effect is after it's come into play, at which point it is a permanent. The "protection from colored spells" affects cards like Doom Blade and Path to Exile, which target as they are cast.
To play oblivion ring you must declare a legal target and then the spell must resolve. Aeons Torn is not a legal target as it has protection making it immune to DEBT
Damage; Enchatments; Blocking; Targeting. You cant O-ring an Aeons Torn with out using a moonlace and a willbender effect.
Another example Animate dead may not reanimate Akroma because she has protection from black as soon as she enters play, as soon as she is in play the protection triggers, the Animate dead becomes illegal and fizzles, Akroma returns to the gaveyard.
FINALLY! A good deck for mirror of fate has appeared! (extends library, grants time + another chance to kill them. Remember, oblivion ring and day of judgment and the like will kill emrakul)
Oblivion Ring Cant target Aeons Torn it has protection from colored spells, as for wrath effects the idea is to drop it on your turn 3-4 then swing on the free turn aeons torn gives you making them sacrifice 6 things which will likely drasticly reduce their ability to do anything
If they draw it and get it off with out me countering it in the 1 turn they get before Aeons Torn eats them they deserve the win. If I wanted flawless odds Id build A Perfect Storm again and present my opponents with my 2 pages of statistics proving I was going to win rather then play them. Its still a game, this decks for bumming around with players who have never seen a lotus or owned a force of will. The actuall winning doesnt matter so much as I want them to atleast feel like they have a chance.
Wow, you haven't been around Casual here very long have you? Dude if you got them use them, screw what other people think, they can either evolve or lose. And the reason I dont run Xx of restricted cards is it bugs when when people do it, making me stop playing for fun and start playing to show them why some cards are restricted.
Having 5 cards in your library is kind of sketchy if you ask me.
I do use them, In my vintage decks that are actually competitive.
"2 sol rings huh? well then, in that case turn one akroma/Hellkite Overlord/ECT and Im gonna go ahead and Force of Will what ever your turn one play was gonna be. Then Circular logic you in place while I beat ya down.
Putting power in a casual deck is like giving a 10 year old a chain gun, me might know the basics of how it works but hes not gonna use it properly and everyone who comes against him is gonna be merciless in their execution because he made himself seem a threat
And 5 cards in the library left doesnt matter so much when the game is only going to last 2 more turns. Provided no one gets cute and has 3 howling mines down on turn 3, or is running a Brain Freeze deck
Also, if you find a way to discard every turn (or just keep 7 cards in your hand), you can continually discard Emrakul to not get decked.
Thats a tricky spot to be in because if ANYTHING makes me draw an additional card I lose. I think Id rather kill them before it comes to that. But hey there is always Obstinate Familiar.
Also a fan of Sphinx of Magosi, hes a flying fatty with card draw and steroids built in
I was planning to Build this deck so far I have

2x Growth Spasm
2x All is Dust
2x Overrun
2x Everflowing Chalice
2x Eldrazi Temple

Now we just have to hope Paradox Haze shows up in lights to fully break Awakening Zone
I may replace the Aeons Torn with Eldrazi Conscription for purposes of turning a minion into a death machine
Also put in Mindslaver over Memory Jar

That was pretty much my thoughts to starting the deck. Im still debating if im gonna build this or All in Red for butcher of truth
As for combo protection Ill go duress over thoughtseize, virtually the same in this deck and a 15 dollar price gap.
I do use them, In my vintage decks that are actually competitive.
