I went to try the IRC chat room and I found the people there, both rude and unwelcoming. Bad Idea. Better off opening a community in msn then following up on this.

    Just my Opinion, Nightwraith

Well, I just got back from playtesting. Good news is I can go with affinity, without Damping Matrix even. I played Samurai of the Pale Curtain MB (3) and won 2 of the 4 we played with SB. Then we played SB , I sided in three Relic Barriers, removed 1 Kokusho, and 2 Solemns. and 3 of 4. Maybe its not that impressive to anyone else, but i'm quite happy with those results. There were many factors in the second set of 4 that helped me win the game. Overall its the resilliancy to die. I had 1 phyrexian Arena, 4 city of brass, 2 swamp, and 1 plains out the last game and i still won. Go pulse go. Once again he took massive mana burn till i got in kill range. I dropped 2 relic barriers and 1 Horobi and made the kill. I can't wait till BOK comes around, it has some good stuff. Mainly a three drop I have been looking for.

K ill take your advice and try them, but im gonna try persecute sideboard first. What do you think of the Samurai of the pale curtain decision?

Im glad it intregues you. I know im repeating myself and I apologise, butI think the NOSB is too slow to matter. I love the card and it would be awesome if it was a turn faster. Wayfarers bauble may be able to get me there but I'm just undecided on it, so for anyone who reads this thread maybe drop an opinion. Test this decklist on Apprentice or somethin, it's pretty good. Persecute is good no debating that, but its also color intensive. So you may not hit what your looking for. At least the Nezumi is picking away at their hand nice and early even though they do get to decide what they throw. They don't seem to like that very much either. Relic barrier is indeed in the sideboard. My list is on page one for anyone who wants to try it out. Feel free to take any credit for refining the deck. I think I covered it all.

    Thanks again, Nightwraith

PS: I need 3 foil Kokusho's to finish my playset Smileup

Im not to sure about messing with the mana base for nexus, but it is a good idea, a really good one. I was doing a little playtesting today vs Affinity. We played 10 games, 5 with Damping Matrix Sb and 5 with Imi Statue Sb. Cue the gong. First 5 3-2 Affinity with me losing the first game. Second 5 4-1 Affinity and lost the first again. 4 of the first five went beyond 6 turns. 1 of the second five did. Guess which one. So I have decided damping matrix is my weapon of choice. To the last poster I do run 4 rend flesh, they are sooome good. As for Jens well hes not so much card advantage as he is a mana fixer for double casting pulses. Im not saying the card from his is bad I just think he is a tool that i need. Pale Curtain is good maybe against B/G the best of all but in this deck it hurts me. However...I was also considering the fact that I may be wrathing it away on turn 4 anyways. So I think i'm gonna test it out tommorow.

    Thanks for the post, Nightwraith

Yep thats just what I do. Go to sacred ground game 2 and pulses help to. I can pound pretty hard to force an early cloud too. Yeah I think matrix is the best right now to. About NOSB i just think its to expensive, i need it early and im not struck on playing moxes and thinning out my instants. Horobi is awesome vs affinity I may go up to 4 copys.

    Thanks Nightwraith

I'm not sure if i agree with the orchard it does depend on the NOSB to be in play and id have to change it up pretty good to do that . NOSB is 4 mana im not really worried about it by turn 4. If it was 3 mana it would be stellar. Yeah im not to sure about trinisphere, Imi statue is ok but in testing I found when they did tap anymore than 4 permenents two of them were myr enforcers and the other three involved a great furnace , a seat of the synod, an untapped cranial plating and one big big Ornithopter. So I guess what im saying is its too slow. By the time they tap enough to matter your dead. Im really leaning towards the matrix, I think its a fair trade to shut down my fox's in order to slow them up till i get board control if there is such a thing vs affinity. I just need somthing to hold them up for two turns at least, if i can get to turn six i stand a 50/50 chance.

    Thanks for the replys, Nightwraith

Yeah I was weighing that con to, but isn't it almost worth it to shut down certain affinity weapons? I still have my targeting removal and all that. Trinisphere is ok but I'm not sure if it's an answer. Its a tight call. One that I guess playtesting is the only way to decide.

    Thanks Nightwraith

I agree Tanthalas(Dragon Lance books rule) The cocoons aren't for scale and tooth, they are for shackles.Veldakan Shackles hurt me in a U/W matchup. I plan on using damping matrix vs affinity. I also sure hope they blast Horobi instead of me. Cause as a rule of thumb you start out at 15 life vs affinity.

Thanks for the replys. I tryed Kiku, but the thing is i already have removal out the wazoo. More then that though, i wanted a third turn body thats useful to me, so I can stop some creatures and help me get to wrath territory. She is a two drop but i can't really slow down attackers till the 4th turn with her. If you know what im saying. I would rather use Samurai of the pale curtain but she kind of ruins my Kokusho, solemn tools. About the Rend Flesh's im running 4 in the deck. If you want to break it down in terms of removal its like this:
    4 Rend flesh
    3 Dark Banishing
    4 Wrath of God
4 Blinding beam( with Horobi out its multiple targeting, and hit two modular creatures with it and you'll see what i mean.)
2 Eight and a Half Tails( Also a Horobi tool)
It may seem that its all horobi is what the decks all about but usually I kill by doing 15 with my Kokushos and using the synergy with Pulse and the arenas. You would be surprised how many times I have playtested and had my buddy take mana burn till he was in kill range just to stop me from pulsing.

Well I think the first step is to take the ravagers out and replace them with lantern kamis. Then use normal lands, thats the key. Also, Disciple of the vault is way to expensive you should replace them with forests. Lastly shrapnel blast is too overated, i'd use granulate. Evil Lol Oh and for you extended players energy flux would really help you out. Rolleyes

What happens when the salvagers get wiped out? I know you have counters, but some of are gonna get dirty and play boseiju. However I respect that you are making your own deck. The rogue decks don't seem to get much attention here, but to me anyone can build ravager affinity and go win some games. I hope it works out for you.

I never thought of that. They are not doing that in Ravager Affinity in my area. I read your comment and thought maybe the stasis cocoon is an answer but no one with half a clue is gonna play the tooth or scale till horobi resolves, or in response to him. I guess I'd have to bank on winning game one cause you'd think they would be playing it sideboard. After game one I'd need removal out the wazoo and alot of luck. I guess maybe Damping Matrix in my sb is an answer. Shuts down my relic barriers but at least its a shot. Thanks for the reply.
