Card is obviously not meant to be played in a reanimator/dredge deck. It's an aggressively costed creature that survives wraths and helps you recover from them, with the niche ability to hate on reanimation. I don't know that it's amazing but the purpose of this card is certainly not to just self mill to fill your yard with donks and make snakes. This is one of the rockiest cards I have seen in a long time.

I run a Solkanar, the Swamp King artifact deck. Most people assume I am just playing like normal Grixis control but when you drop clock of omens and a Prototype portal with an artifact land on it you get out of hand really quickly.

The first game I played it in the EDH league at the store I frequent I ended having 80 great forge's in play on like turn 6 because I had cloned someone's Prophet of Kurphenox or whatever it is.

Wake is one of my favourite cards for this format. It's savage and it's a good way to punish people for not diversifying their landbase. Sometimes destroying 4-6 lands against someone who ramps and catching some in the cross fire is good enough. It doesn't have to obliterate their entire mana base to be good.

The problem is it has just 3 generals: Kaalia decks are all the same basically leaving you with

Oros for 6 Mana and is just meh

Tamriel for 7 Mana has a fun effect but 7 Mana for a general is a lot and not exactly fun to choose between just Oros and Tamriel.

I mean with the exception of Dega (who has the ol' Treelord) all the wedge's have 3 generals. 1-2 Build around me dudes and one Dragon.

If you aren't designing your deck with your general in mind and you want to play a good stuff deck that your general has no cohesion with it doesn't really matter what you have because it's just going to end up being a beater. It's the reason my Grixis artifact deck has Solkanar at the helm because it doesn't really matter and he is so stylish.

Besides Oros is a savage beating if you grant him lifelink or deathtouch (or both) which is insanely easy to do in that colour combination. Being able to wrath away little mana elves and nonwhite token swarms is pretty sick.

From the Ashes is plain bad. Blood Moon and even Ruination seem superior.

I don't think it's supposed to be as much of a punisher card. It's a half way decent ritual for you since the basics come in untapped and there are loads of ways to benefit from a ton of lands coming into play.

Because Karn, Silver Golem wasn't already just a sweet a stack of ridiculous interactions...we not only give him colors, we give him the best combination of colors in EDH. I'm scared.

I don't see any green mana symbols on her anywhere. I think you may wish to retract your statement.

I had this come up in a game on MTGO just now and I think that the way the client handled might have been improper. I wanted clarification because I thought I knew the rules regarding Bestow fairly well.

At any rate I had a Spirit Mantle on a creature, Daxos, of Meletis then I was intending to bestow Thassa's Emmisary onto but the MTGO client wouldn't let me cast using the Bestow cost. (Daxos was my only creature at the time so the client said "This is an illegal target.)

Now I was under the impression that if you used the Bestow cost on any card it completely lost the Creature typing and because an Aura instead both whilst on the stack and while it was in play until it became unattached. (Which is why Bestowed creatures don't die to wrath and fall off after it resolves.)

That's why if you use Bestow it can be negated as was pointed out in various articles before Theros' release.

Am I completely wrong here? Is MTGO handling this corner case correctly or is it a bug?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Didn't see your edit while I was quote-responding to you. But anyway, for those that didn't think of the tokens, yes, this infinite will work until you're paying so much for Prossh you might as well forfeit.

At the point where he becomes unreasonable to cast ie 20+ (Which is 8 casts.) If you don't just win on the spot making infinite dudes you probably deserve the loss of your commander for the remainder of the match.

Regardless one card combos are insanely strong and Prossh can play a lot of em'.

With Anger of the Gods, think about it. This is a sacrificing deck. I probably won't have more than 1 or 2 cards on the field anyway. And when that would be my sacrifice engine, one of which can regenerate, and the other can be pulled back out of the graveyard, what difference does it make if it's dead?

I'm just going to point this out for the sake of clarity because no one else has. If your Murder King dies to an Anger the Gods he will be exiled. The whole allure to Anger the god that differentiate it from older red sweepers is that it exiles everything if it would die.

Sure you could wait until T4 or T5 to sacrifice Tyramet but that is probably not where you want to be.

Some number of scavenging ooze's would probably fit well here. They have an easy casting cost (1G) and their activated ability makes you feel much better about making trades in aggro v aggro since eventually those trade off's will get you 2 life and 2 counters on an ooze. I think they are a much better way to combat aggro than main boarded Anger the Gods.

If you do want to run Anger the Gods in the main you might be better off cutting the one drops and going a more midrangey route and including things like Dreadbridge Goliath or Pulkaronoamsodmaodhjaoshfoash, The World Eater and the 4/4 hasty mythic pro white dragon I can't think the name of: just generally going over the top of what your opposition casts on T3/T4/T5.

It still blows up the lands...

Just throwing this out there but it doesn't blow up anything if you respond to the activated ability with removal. It will be in the graveyard by the time it resolves and the triggered ability "when ~ becomes monsterous" won't happen because the object is no longer on the field to trigger it.

It's not a bad card but that has little to do with the trigger and more to do with the fact it's a 4/5 for 2RR.

    On limited:

I'm sick of the whole "is good for limited" argument. It's balls.

I go to a limited tournament or buy a box and do a draft among friends - sure, this guy is fine for an afternoon, but then I've got a dozen copies of a card that is unplayable. This does not please me. My issue is what to do with this guy after the limited game, and this guy is only useful as a proxy.

Let's ignore the fact limited exists. You want there to just be no discrepancy in power level between cards? That is what it would take for all "garbage" cards to be playable in constructed and at that point I don't think the game would be very fun everything would either be so powerful or so weak that there would be no room for interesting design.

interestingly, this might be a case where the term "strictly better" is actually literally true. if we discount Mindslaver and Meddling Mage-type effects (which we should since they suck) and tribal boosts which there are none of, I can't think of a single conceivable situation where you'd prefer the unicorn. (contrastingly, it's pretty easy to think of situations where Shock is preferable to Lightning Bolt and the like)

Engineered Plague set on Elf (Common creature type). Grin

Never going to be sad to see this in my pool if I am green.

Too bad the Troll is strictly better. You can discard anything, and it protects itself, for a negligibly more complex cost. Once a card is in the graveyard, you can still interact with it. If it's exiled, it's basically gone. If you discard a Flashback card, you can only cast it once, but you still gain the full benefit. To get even close to the same benefit with this Elemental, you have to pay for it twice.

Too bad Troll only let's you interact with creature cards (you clearly misread it) and interacts with those cards in a completely separate way than this does.

You're resolving your spells? Sweet you did what you wanted. They try to stop you from getting the desired effect in someway (Countering/Sacrificing/Blinking) who cares exile the spell and make your guy one drop into a 3/4.

This card effectively blanks most answers to instants and sorceries you want to cast by making sure they have some effect and is a decent enough beater.
