Risky Bet at common is really great for pauper red decks, especially of the burn variety.

UW tron and UR Tron attack from a similar angle, some control cards, some draw stuff(thirst for knowledge, gifts), UW has the unburial rites package, UR has through the breach, both play alot of the same cards..

RG "Karn" Tron where its straight up going for a turn 3 karn/mindslaver is a completely different deck, attacking from a completely different angle, and shares maybe 20-25 cards with the other tron variations, most of these are lands or the eldrazi pieces, None of the games you play vs this deck will be like those you play vs the other tron decks.

Where U/x tempo all attack from a same game plan I can see why those are lumped together.. Most play delver + remand/mana leak/spell snare + some creatures and some more disruption depending on colors

I like the format right now and have fun playing, I can see myself not playing if the daily events get to be the same 15 other people with the same decks and no variance.

I think it's fine when they print a card with lower flashback cost than original cost. However the original cost should be somewhat overpriced for the ability your getting if they want to do that.

When you look at Lingering Souls, 3 mana for 2 1/1 fliers is about normal for that ability, and then 2 mana is undercosted. All for the price of 1 card... its pretty insane..

If your looking for one list that you know will do well your gonna have to wait until at least a week after the bannings take place, they will really throw off the meta game. So any investments you make is a risk right now.

Unless you plan on owning 4x of INS block, in which case feel free to invest into a deck and then just shrug off the results if it turns out it doesnt have a place in block tournaments, you can move on to another deck at that point.

Is it just for finishing? What removal does it need to be able to beat?

I mean Magnivore is a big guy if you need to beat red removal. The only shroud guy I could find under 6 mana that could finish a game off is Giant Solifuge, but he can be stopped by any number of creatures ..

2 more mana and you get sphinx of the jar isle though.

I wonder if this has to do with Avacyn Restored not making the format diverse enough, they see the daily results and must think damn.

EDIT: I mean with their future release, they don't think they will be releasing anything that will make people turn from tokens.

It's actually kind of going to be ok, since tokens will still be a strong strategy without virtues, and will make it so enchantment removal main isnt mandatory, but I wish they had given a little more time for the format to kind of balance out. I've been having fun with the Jund control deck, and the RG werewolves deck is actually not as bad as I thought when you play 4 hellrider, I , although I think I should probably just be playing RW with hellriders.

I have found huntmaster to be very very good for me.

I actually really think that you need main deck answers to hellrider(instant speed removal) so I have updated the deck by putting in 3 brimstones and taking out an act and the daybreaks. The only way I lose to the Rx decks are hellrider + burn spells.

Also I would up your ancient grudge count in the sideboard, grafdiggers cage and witchbane orb are extremely strong vs this strategy.

If you glance at daily results from yesterday there was a 4-0 RG list running predator ooze, young wolf, strangleroot geist, vorapede, and then ran 4 main deck blasphemous act. Pretty much you can play out most of your guys and then it's a 1 sided wrath effect. You can find the list, was playing 2 kessig wolf run to trample past tokens, as well as 4 huntmaster. IDK how good the deck is, but if people run into main deck acts you can get some good wins.

No it wasn't wrong, it was not a great choice two weeks ago. That's just how fast the meta changes now. The amount of internet coverage the game has now and number of people plugged into that coverage means that the meta can shift after every major event.

Last week Wolf-Run and Delver were everywhere and posted big results, so a deck that is a good match-up against them, U/B Control, now becomes a very good choice. And things will change again after this event is over.

UB Control got 9th and 10th place at the Pro Tour, both players running the exact same list, and the tiebreaks were close, not too close but close, too say that it was an awful choice two weeks ago is pushing it, according to PVs article they were on the deck but decided against it cause too many variables in what other people would play.

This isn't 100% accurate. You can also blast Manamorphouse(sp) which can be a pretty big deal if they're trying to get more blue.

You can also constrict their mana by using it on the red Rituals.

So far I've been playing a lot of Delver and feel the lists I've been working off of are subpar.

Gush seems like the biggest beating ever yet we're only running 2 to 3. Another hard counter would also be nice.

Gush is situational and is really awful in multiples, unless you go super late game, which most lists don't want to do. I do agree it's a great card though.

I could have sworn Brainstorm would have been in Preordain's spot.

Brainstorm is really mediocre without fetchlands or ways to shuffle, Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic are good but enters battlefield tapped does not make the cut in a lot of the decks.

Jund might not have the synergies but it's not as easy to play. Old affinity had A ton of interactions and had some kind of grindiness I really feel like these modern lists are all in

Faeries is also a freaking synergestic deck and takes most skill of the three

Jund got crushed game 1. Im getting the feeling that all of Jund's PTQ wins might be the result of meta-oversaturation and not ot it being that good of a deck. There is no doubt its tier1.5, it certianly doesn't seem to be playing like a teir1 deck. Bad luck maybe?

The first match the player kept questionable hands game 2.

In the second match all I saw was game 1, but he really didn't draw very well, and he was also playing main deck sword of feast and famine which I don't think is very good at all.

I don't think it's over saturation at all, what are you beating with Jund consistently?

those 4-0 decks are from before DKA coming out, so some won't be as viable anymore. if everyones playing aggressive werewolves decks, just go over the top of them with Jund Control and update it with the new DKA cards. Planeswalkers + Strong Removal + Huntmaster, can't be sure what the best decks in the format are now, with 140 new cards it's a huge shift in the metagame.
