Just some insight here guys: I've been interested in trying MWC when gideon and wall of omen were spoiled. Here's what I played a couple of games online with.
It's now 7-0, defeating 4 UW control decks, an esper control, a rdw and a weird ramp eldrazi deck.
// Creatures
1 [ZEN] Iona, Shield of Emeria
4 [M10] Baneslayer Angel
4 [ROE] Wall of Omens
4 [ROE] Student of Warfare
1 [CFX] Wall of Reverence
// Spells
3 [ALA] Elspeth, Knight-Errant
3 [ROE] Gideon Jura
2 [ALA] Oblivion Ring
4 [CFX] Path to Exile
2 [CFX] Martial Coup
4 [ZEN] Day of Judgment
4 [ZEN] Luminarch Ascension
// Sideboard
SB: 2 [CFX] Wall of Reverence
SB: 1 [ALA] Elspeth, Knight-Errant
SB: 4 [M10] Celestial Purge
SB: 4 [WWK] Kor Firewalker
SB: 4 [M10] White Knight
Wall of Omen is surprisingly insane. In the late game, it's litterally a draw engine with your online emerias. However, I am not impressed by the student of warface. I'd rather have a white knight or KotWO. Having 4 emerias main along with 4 luminarch gives you a positive matchup against blue control decks. I often even mulliganed aggressivly for 2 lands and a luminarch against them. Having them main gives you somewhat of a chance against spreading seas.
I'll try a green splash for KotR, manlands, garruk, sledge and great sable stag in the side.
I had a 14 card sideboard but wrote the number ''15'' on the sheet (the decklist sheet you give out during the first round). I immidiately called a judge but I got a game loss; leading a 2-1 loss.
What would of happened if I said nothing in the first round, then rapidly put a 15th card in the sideboard and simply say I forgot to right it on the sheet? afterall, it was written 15 cards on it...?
Garruk is not worth splashing for, especially with GG in its cost. You can't "splash" a double cost card without a very, very good reason to do so, and Garruk isn't it.
If you want to play Bant, play Bant (KotR, Sledge, Heirarchs, etc), don't play a UW control deck with a half-arsed splash for some green cards that don't help the deck.
That's what I used to think, but garruk is by far the best card in the deck. It won me more games than Jace himself. You also don't splash green for just garruk, you have access to a whole sideboard and a new set of manlands.
UWr splashes red for bolt, ajani and double negative; which is basicly a removal, a control tool and an anti-BBE. I don't see why it's not ok for green O_o. Granted, it's a bit less consistant because you do not only need one forest in play like UWr needs one mountain, but that's why the term ''tuning your manabase'' exists.
If your mind is set that UW control is the way to go, so be it, but it doesn't mean you have to turn down any other ideas. Different color splashes gives you different matchups. Having access to stags in your side makes your matchup against Jund or Vampires alot less painful.
Green isn't and never has been a great control color, but I feel that one of the cards is worth splashing for: Garruk Wildspeaker. He is a control tool. He protects himself in the sense that he can make a guy when he comes into play to block / clock someone OR he can untap you some lands if you have some permissions in hand.
Bant control is maybe not as intensive and solid as UW or UWr, but I feel it's not getting enough attention. (as in, no attention at all whatsoever) It's basicly a UW control deck splash garruk and sideboard cards.
Nissa Ravane is also an egine to keep in mind. She Kind of acts like an Elspeth effect, but she puts bigger guy on the table, so you can actually trade with them and not only chump... Playing something like 3 Nissa Ravane and 2 Nissa's Chosen could be interesting, it's not like you're going to have mroe than 2 Nissa on the table at the same time anyways. I did not test the engine yet (because it seems to me that elspeth does the exact same thing but isn't vulnerable to bolt the turn she comes into play) Just something to keep in mind. I'll defenitly test when the time comes
I playtested a couple of games against Jund and it's kind of not bad. You don't have the double negative to completly overwhelm BBE, but the 4x flashfreeze effects MAIN give you some kind of firepower. Not to mention the 6x remove effects to get rid of the leech or thrinax before laying one planeswalker.
Here's some kind of skeleton (The rules here state that I am not allowed to post decklists, so mods, if this is still applying here, please PM me and I will take it down as soon as I can if needed)
Actually, I would see grixis control playing See Beyond because, unlike treasure hunt, it garantees you 2 cards. Sometimes Hunts just goes like flip ---> soji. The drawback isn't too much of a draw back. I basicly says draw 2 discard a card which is fine IMHO. The only thing you want turn two are your following landdrops so you can just pitch a cruel or something you'll never cast anytime soon... It's a matter of preference I believe. We'll see what the sets offer us before judging.

The best advice you can get.

I've been thinking of maybe using Garruk Wildspeaker, Great Sable Stag, Bant Charm, Rhox War Monk, Knight of the Reliquary, Rampaging Baloth, Behemoth Sledge or Avenger of Zendikar.
