Feb 3, 2014TheLovelyLamia posted a message on Launch Giveaway! My favorite magic card is Hellkite Charger. The first time I saw it, I thought it was a really underpowered dragon with a useless ability. I soon learned how amazing haste is on a beefy enough flyer. While his ability has won me very few games, the games it has won have been memorable (including one where I killed three people over the course of two back to back attack steps) and I've won countless more games on the back of having a 5/5 hasty flyer at my disposal. The art is one of the most gorgeous dragons in magic, and I really want to see it make a proud return in a core set some day.Posted in: Announcements

My far out speculative guess? First set gives us two color gods, second set gives us three color. Same way Theros did one color and then two color.
Oh yeah, I remember, lol. Aurora. Gosh that's an ancient running joke now XD.
I can jump.
Also, Wave of Vitriol-dominated metas seem like no fun, but I understand. You could build an Esper or probably a dimir or mono blue deck around Master Transmuter fairly easily, if that's more what you want. A lot of the big artifacts are colorless anyway.
But what don't you like about the 4 color manabase? Maybe it's something fixable.
For reference, the targets I have:
Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite
Emrakul, the Promised End
Kambal, Consul of Allocation
Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
and I generally find I want one of them to tutor for when I cast it. It's another way to get a finisher (Eldrazi Titan or Emrakul) to my hand, honestly. I can fetch Kambal if I really need to, but toolboxes like this don't have to be all that big to be effective. It's going to be a rare time that you won't have SOMETHING you wanna get with Thalia's. I mean worst comes to worst, it's a way to tutor out Nykthos or Cradle, or a missing meld piece, right?
Do some testing but honestly I think you'll find it tends to fetch useful stuff.
I think you'll get far with Breya if you set out with the idea of Saccing artifacts for fun and profit, and see what else comes up. But then again, I like decks that sac things for fun and profit (I mean, I've got Teysa, Pharika, and Sharuum after all!) so I'm a little biased there.
EDIT: There are probably enough thopters to make some sort of thopter tribal subtheme as well. Thopter Squadron comes to mind, as does Thopter Spy Network. Sharding Sphinx is the OG Spy Network, as well.
Overall I would say it's really like life in general. Aside from the abuse cases which I'm obviously not talking about here, relationships are what you make of them. They don't have to be terrible but they're not necessarily prone to being great either. And it can depend a lot on the other person as well.
I wouldn't really say you're better off being single, unless you're the sort of person who prefers that, but I wouldn't say you're missing out on a ton by not being in a relationship either.
It's the one I use for a lot of other things and I'm lazy.
I'll be makin a sig here shortly, just gotta bust out GIMP and all.
Plays these decks, as in plays artifact decks? I mean, like it or not that's generally the strat that Master Transmuter uses, although it does it in a different way, mostly abusing ETB triggers. My Sharuum deck is somewhat similar. Runs a lot of artifacts in a control shell that wins through artifact combos or just because it has Magister Sphinx and a huge airforce.
If you want combo with Master Transmuter I believe Freed from the Real and Gilded Lotus will give you infi mana or ETB triggers. Or something like that.
As for Breya, I have some ideas for her. My take on a Breya deck would probably be one that looks to abuse Stations and Modules, plus some of the other interactions in those colors with an artifact theme (Spine of Ish Sah + Trading Post) to make a deck that does a lot of things once it has a boardstate.
However I also think Breya could be pretty good as an aggro or a Stax commander. If you can keep flickering Breya you can technically make a lot of mana with Ashnod's Altar so that's probably something to think about as well.
Master Transmuter relies on a strategy that wasn't terribly well supported in my Sharuum deck, so I ended up taking her out, but the strat is simple enough. The first half of the puzzle are small, cheap artifacts with ETB abilities, like Baleful Strix and Solemn Simulacrum. The second step is getting out your massive artifact threats. Blightsteel Colossus and the like. You have to have a good deal of card selection most of the time, or token production, so that you can get your big artifacts in your hand and your little ones on the field. You also probably want a fair deal of mana acceleration, so that you can cast Transmuter even earlier.
I could try and whip up a Breya Transmuter deck later today if you'd like to see it.
Also, we have mods in here, so really quick, can I link to tappedout decks in my sig or on site in general? I tend to update those a lot more than opening and maintaining a thread for each of my big EDH decks, though I suppose I can do that too (despite the fact that I'm not really looking for input they're just for people to see.)
I guess I'm putting infi combo and other mean things back in Sharuum. Someone last night decided to make sure I didn't win. So he and I both lost and honestly that kind of thing kinda pisses me off.
