Do you plan on actually sleeving up and playing the cards? If so, I would go with the some amount of play, because playing a NM card will make it... no longer NM.
Personally I would get MP Unlimited, and save up for NM Alpha/Beta for collecting purposes.
I understand liking BB more, but unless you are also getting or already have BB duals, it's kind of moot.
tl;dr: if investing save for NM (preferably Alpha or Beta), if playing get played (preferably unlimited)
I think the OP is simply alluding to it not living up to the hype (i.e. the next coming of Tarmogoyf & perhaps better). I don't think people should be selling because it's obviously at its low point & is certainly a good card but it isn't seeing as much play as the hype would suggest it would.
It's highly unlikely a rare will reach that status nowadays, it will probably haver to be a mythic minimum.
There's just too much supply out there for it to reach $100+.
For what it's worth, I'm holding to more or less everything that is seeing play outside of Standard.
This includes:
foil Snapcaster
foil Geists
foil Olivia
non/foil Restoration Angels
foil Griselbrand
3x mythic angels from Avacyn Restored (EDH, as cheap as they are going to be already)
non/foil enemy checklands
foil utility lands
non/foil Liliana of the Veil
Things I am getting (got) rid of:
non foil Olivia
Bonfire of the Damned
non foil utility lands
Wolfir Silverheart
Blasphemous Act
Huntmaster of the Fells (hope you got rid of already, picking up on rotation)
Hello, I treated myself to 8 blister packs of Innistrad at Target. Do people view blister packs as a way to protect buyers from box mappers and cheaters? I usually remove the cardboard but now that i have learned about the cheating box mappers, I was thinking to keep the cardboard on as evidence that I did not map these packs and that the packs were not mapped. Should I keep the cardboard or just remove it and store the sealed pack without the cardboard? Thanks
If there was desire/demand for it, they could be mapped. Hope the cards you were looking for were over the $32+ you spent on those boosters (and you opened them).
See, that makes no sense. Why would speculators dump cards for like 30% of retail in response to news that a card is likely NOT being reprinted? I think SCG knows something and perhaps the info I was given is still correct despite the Duress rumour.
The past two core sets have had common and rare black discard spells.
Of course, the rare ones have been hand wipes, but as long Thoughtseize fits the number crunch, I think it still has a good chance of being in M14.
Well i actually left off two important card that i forgot to add (i would jump all over that offer i posted, too bad its not the actual one). So the trade would be
My
4 sp-nm noble hierarch
2 sp snapcaster mage
2 nm geist of saint traft
1 nm scalding tarn
For
1 nm grim tutor
Grim Tutor seems very ripe for a judge foil, I would be very cautious in trading into them. Of course if you need it, and it's truely NM, it's not a horrible trade.

Not to mention the majority of the value of that deck is in the mythics and Mutavaults.
Hence $0.50 card.

Disagree. White Bordered cards stick out like a sore thumb.
I think given time, the judge foils will exceed the value of the white bordered original barring a non-foil black bordered reprint.

You can't really compare color type with Shocks and Fetches. Fetches are 5 color lands, despite only being able to grab two basic land types.
Shock prices are directly related to which are seeing the most play, predominately in standard.

Swords to Plowshares does a great job of beating it.
Transmute Artifact is only better than Tinker in Legacy, because Tinker is banned.
If it continues to perform in Legacy, it should continue to shoot up. I would imagine when SCG puts their stock back up, it will be 24.99+.

I would assume for a third EDH deck.
What is the reasoning on this? Rotation won't be for 17 months for this card.
I think what we can take from that data is, I hope you have your original print foils now.
M14 is legal the day it is released, alongside M13.
