Well glimpse and tome scour has given me good results and i like my creatures cause they both reanimate themselves.
Manamorphose has a very specific role in the deck, ill try to explain how it works:
By T3 you play rituals and Past in flames, then you flashback the rituals, Manamorphose for UB and flashback Glimpse or Tome scour, then you flashback more milled rituals>manamorphose>mill...and reapeat until you have Demigods and Bloodghasts then you reanimate everything and bash head.
Hope this clarifies the design of the deck so i get more feedback
The cards you put into you graveyard with glimps or tomb scour don't have flashback in this scenario unless after the glimpse you are flashing back another past in flames. Just thought you should know. Past in flames gives all instants and sorceries flashback that are in your graveyard when it resolves, not any instant or sorcery that is put in the yard after.
I'm working on some cards for a custom cube and I was wondering how this effect would be templated.
1BB
Instant
Destroy target nonblack creature.
Threshold - At the beginning of your upkeep you may return ~ to your hand. If you do, exile your graveyard.
My goal is to make a doom blade that can be recurred if you have threshold by exiling your graveyard. I.E. every time you recur it you have to start filling your graveyard up again. Does this card do that with this template?
What are people's thoughts on this card. When I first added it to my 450 card unpowered cube I really liked it, but lately I feel like it is kind of a trap card (It looks cool but you probably could be using the slot for something better) I also don't have any infinite combo to abuse it. I.e. squirrels nest or something of the sort.
Has anyone else tried this in their cube, and if so what was the impression you got from it?
That is quite possibly the worst idea I have ever seen. I can only see it as sarcasm really. Not to mention how horribly narrow it is, printing a basic land without a type utterly destroys a fundamental rule of Magic. What they should do is give you more lands that function similarly to cloudpost, but keep them nonbasic. Something like Tolarian Academy's cycle, where it keys off of something in the game and gives you colorless mana for your troubles.
way to not post a constructive thought towards the forms idea. people should get warnings for doing things like "lol. your retarded. this seemingly meaningless thing is the worst idea ever and will break magic for all eternity." if your comments aren't going to be relevant don't make them.
i can't really see how the above land with no type could give you much to work with, but i don't play edh much. i think it is a cool idea, but would have to agree that it would be more appropriate in the blocks theyhave already attempted it than this one. but no, i don't think it is the worst idea ever.
i think the only reason i would agree is because when wizards made mythics they said "staples of the format will be printed at rare and mythics will be large flashy things". thats sweet when your mythic is a 10+ mana dork that looks cool and has a see-through border, but it is very apparent that they decide to go and abolish that idea. the best example is kozilek vs. vengvine. kozilek "sick huge guy with tons of abilitys for infinite mana... and a lengend (like most mythics, planeswalkers included) vengvine "4/3 haste with recursion... nothing about that seems flashy, legendary, epic, important in back story, etc... nope. wizards looked at vengvine and decided it would probably be good somewhere in some deck and decided to make it mythic. this card in no way falls under any of the guide lines for what wizards said mythics were meant too be.
that is what made "mythics are a cash grab" apparent to me.
Now look at the prices from one of the top store here in Toronto: http://www.401games.ca/ccg/mtg.html. Hell, when I bought Garruk v. Lilliana it was at 34.99. I bought Phyrexia v. the Coalition at 24.99 before it was marked down to 19.99.
so what you are saying is that decks in production are the MSRP and discontinued deck aka GvL are more expensive... sounds about right
Swerving a bounce and draw Cryptic command with Ricochet is one of the most satisfying things I have ever gotten to do.
I dont think Red has anything to really complain about.... Boros and RDW still tops at my local FNM but that might be because PTQ players here play them :/ But I see problems hanging in the future for Red if some of the Red spells in M10 are not reprinted. Especially since, Zendikar, WW, and RoE didnt make any decent red spells for standard. I opened 4 boxes of RoE and not a single red card impressed me except that wall that gives haste, but that was because I took house with it in sealed.
i have friends who are playtesting block for the PT and most of them say they have played sligh in other formats and this is probably the most abusive red has been in a block constructed format in a long time. the red cards in these sets are actually quite amazing.
It would push it to Tier Jund. A turn 1 Instant Fireball where X = 4 and you get any division of damage you choose among any number of targets for free.
while the card is really good if true. this card is not 4 fireball for 1 that Is a ridiculous comparison
