Another option could be to build a 1v1 EDH deck to get your competitive fix in. EDH doesn't tend to have lots of tournaments, but when it does, it usually uses the Duel Commander (aka French EDH) banlist- which is a banlist designed specifically for competitive 1v1 play. Just note that this banlist was designed by the player base, and isn't endorsed by WotC in the same way the multiplayer banlist is. If you're interested to learn more, just check out the 1v1 EDH section.
Please enlighten me how Primeval Titan is not banned. Thanks.
Because in 1v1 EDH, players don't abuse Deadeye Navigator/Clone effects with Primeval Titan to make the game go out of control. (Edit: Or rather, if they do, the game is already over anyway so you can shuffle up and start again. Though, this isn't even certain) In 1v1 Primeval Titan is just a great bomb and doesn't devolve into degenerated plays that make a table of 4 players waste their time.
It's not different than using Primeval Titan in a Modern deck - since the environment is just 2 players, he is not broken.
And most of the fast mana ramp is banned in Duel Commander, so you usually won't see him as early as you would with the multiplayer banlist.
My current deck is Cascade-Hypergenesis Maelstrom Wanderer with only 11 spells under 8 mana.
I faced that deck idea a while ago on Cockatrice. I'm always pleasantly surprised to see rogue decks work.
I don't really build around generals anymore, because nothing has really interested me as of late. Nowadays I build decks around one card/idea. I built Godo because of Goblin Welder. Now I really want to abuse Skullclamp, so I'm thinking of going GW. Everyone knows clamp is good, but I want people to actually fear it.
You could try out Blightsteel Colossus, but honestly, he's just not on the same level as Emrakul. But if you do try Blighsteel, you can also change the deck up somewhat and give Shape Anew a go as another Polymorph effect.
My Character:
Female woods elf- She is more than six feet tall and she is often confused for a man (especially by humans who view elven males as feminine in appearance), and she plays the typical archer role in the party. I would like to find a way to integrate my bow (unstrung) into the costume in some way, and I also want to be relatively mobile on top of impressing the hoi polloi.
How about making it look like your bow and dress (?) come from the same elements? Like lots of leaves.
And speaking of Warhammer, I really hope they restock the Militarum Tempestus codex for 40k online soon...
At mtg homepage, servant is on the bann list, also the card at the card link:
This deck is based on the Duel Commander banlist (not the multiplayer one you're thinking of). That's why you're seeing cards like Painter's Servant and Primeval Titan in decklists.
Have any tips on painting white with depth through the use of acrylic paints? My attempts tend to end up looking very light blue...
Gerrard Capashen
Captain Sisay
Hanna, Ship's Navigator
Karn, Silver Golem
Jhoira of the Ghitu
Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir
