use sad robot attached to a mimic vat to get around stax effects. going mono color you lack tutors to get what you need so you won't be able to rely on things liike you could if you were playing black or blue. sword of light and shadow could help you break even also.
the way I saw it I would play animar with artifact creatures and enchantment creatures. you could double down points and still make a competitive deck.Probably why arcum did well.
Also any decks that get free spells like rashmi or ydris could benefit from this format. This would be why narset came in second.
can you unlocvk an achievement multiple times a turn or is it only once a turn? if only once a turn play vedalken orrery and yeva to make sure you get points on an opponents turn.
best play with a ror I looped a chancellor of the spires with it and made an arbitrary large amount of creatures. people think twice about playing it if I'm on blue now.
new players often forget the small things that matter. they'll play flashy spells and skip out on the ramp. now if you are going to be building decks to play against each other then this might not be a problem.
if you already have Teferi out they can tap th he mana but as long as you don't pass priority back to them they won't be able to empty the pool by advancing to the next phase.
Mimic Vat is a card I put in almost any deck. you can always find value for it and if you need to exile an opponents creastue to stop reanimated shenanigans.
had a similar problem when trying to explain Teferi chain veil combo when I assembled it. it seems more that the players try to find a reason why it doesn't work. With a a whole table that doesnt like losing to a combo after I do my thing I let them know they can feel free to play out the game. you can at this point sit and watch how the fight unfolds (gets you brownie points from those players) or go find another game. I find watching the game makes you more included in the playgroup and might make future combo plays more acceptable.
and of course the next game play your fair commander that liked to turn sideways.
I feel for Kolaye. biggest thing I would recommend would be to not win until the turn before your opponents can if you are playing decks that are leagues better than yours. normally I would just spread the love around so people don't feel like you are picking on them.
