Cryptoplasm is just worse than Phrexian Metamorph. Metamorphing titans is awesome, and being able to copy artifacts is relevant.
People should be running Spine of Ish Sah as a tutor target (and add Phyrexia's Core to their lands). It gives you a great way to interact with everything and is a great way to use up your mana. Add to this the fact that you can use Metamorphs as mock spines for 3 or 4 mana. I win a ton of games by grinding it out with the spine.
Enclave Cryptologist is really good. I see a lot of lists skirting on him, but he is an absolute beating against control decks. The only reason not to use him is if your meta is all aggro decks.
Treasure Mage does a pretty spot on SFM impression when you have Grand Architect out. Obviously this is a 2 card combo, as opposed to SFM's 1 card combo. It's obviously not nearly as powerful as SFM, but it is what makes this deck work.
I'm not sold on the Contagion Clasps that everyone seems to be running. I don't see being able to spare the mana to proliferate, and I'm not sure that paying 2 mana to take out a 0 or 1 mana guy is worth it. I run Perilous Myr in my sideboard (and cores main as a way to fling him), and have been pretty happy with his Memnite defense. He doesn't shut the deck down, but he'll buy enough time for your treasures to take over.
Stoic Rebuttal is worth considering over Mana Leak. I find that this deck has a ton of stuff to play early on, and would much rather have a late-game counter. Rebuttal protects your guys and stops titans better than Mana Leak. You also have no JtMS to worry about, so early counters aren't as important.
Swiftfoot Boots shouldn't be anywhere near this deck. If you have to have Grand Architect to win, the deck won't work. You're better off finding a new contingency plan for once we lose Everflowing Chalice. A lot of you like Quicksilver Amulet, but I don't think it saves you enough mana.
Guardian's Pledge is pretty solid. It kind of sucks that it's white only, but between it, fortify, and army of allah you can get a redundant enough overrun effect to make an archetype.
Here are the 2 major problems, in my mind, that UW faces in the upcoming weeks.
1) It lost two of it's best cards, making the color combo in itself weak.
2) Due to losing J, TMS the standard control deck becomes much less viable. Permission will not be able to rise in the new standard format. It will face the same problems it faces in the stand of old. Aggro and combo decks will hold the top tier.
Just because it lost it's two best cards doesn't mean it has no way to compete. Obviously you don't take the rest of the previous deck and add in 8 new cards, you'll need to change your strategy.
What you presented is merely an un-based opinion. There's no way to tell is UW is bad without testing out new decklists and throwing together ideas.
This is a bit of an crazy idea, but I think Gravitational Shift is poised to be good in the current meta. It more or less blanks Vampires and Exarch/Twin, and puts a serious damper in aggressive decks. Obviously it hinges on Squadron Hawk decks not being common. Also, the deck can win rather quickly with the shift. I've out-raced aggro valakut decks a few times.
If the meta goes back to titan decks, then Destructive Force decks will probably want Frost Titan again. Additionally, you could go blue for a draw-engine such as Consecrated Sphinx, Sphinx of Lost Truths, or Blue Sun's Zenith.
I think the idea of having a R/G ramp deck powered by draw spells is still viable, even if the draw isn't as good as jace.
Until you remember that it is a do-nothing enchantment unless you have those cards.
Great card, and it helps artifact decks a ton.
