I don't see how a Black Lotus effect could work unless the card also kept your mana floating until eot or something. Timetwister would be the only thing they could do fairly. AR or Time Walk would have to be on something insanely nerfed.
I know this is kind of off the current topic, but how has Ixidron been working for you? The only thing I don't like about it is that it affects our own stuff and it's technically not a true wrath, but it is a good answer to certain creatures and whatnot.
-I suppose it would be fair to say it's much easier to recur than the original disk, but it's also much more easy to get rid of. 9/10 times it gets killed or exiled before I can use it. It's not a bad card necessarily, I just think it's the worst one on the list.
The 'problem' with that thinking is, R&D is designing a game to sell to the masses, not a select few ideas of what the game should or should not entail.
In short R&D is trying to make a 'product' to sell to as many people as possible and make money, some players are looking for strategies that they enjoy (minority), but would drive some players away from the game, hence a money losing idea for Wotc. Wotc has the numbers from 20 years of the game. They know what sells and what doesnt.
So those who join the game and may not like what most people enjoy should just pack up and go home? That seems a bit harsh don't you think?
My solution? Play casual. That way you don't have to adhere to what wizards is cramming down your throat and they get to have their own rules for competitive play; everybody wins.
When Alex enters the battlefield, choose one - Exile target permanent you own, then return it to the battlefield under your control at end of turn; or target permanent you control gains indestructible until end of turn; or you gain life equal to the converted mana cost of target permanent.
Yes, for the most part. I really have no interest in most constructed formats since most sets wizards only designs with Standard and Limited in mind. Limited I do enjoy when I have the time but for the most part EDH is my go-to format.

Also, what does he mean by "high-profile"?
